Yes, this is true. But remember what Blessed Fr. Seraphim Rose said, these are just external things - it's loving God in the heart that matters. Even the Anti-Christ will have a perfectly painted Byzantine icon of himself. The bottom line is do not get caught up in externals.

I have heard a tradition whereby the priest serving liturgy when the St. Sophia was captured, will return to Ag. Sophia before the end of the world to finish the liturgy.
