  • I will never forget that video special...it really blew me away. The special effects were incredible. If anyone has those videos, please post them; especially the one with the whale song in the background.

  • yes this is an excellent video as all of them were . people don't realize that this was a video special that came out the same year that MTV debuted. This was way ahead fo it's time. She was one fo the r early pioneers of music videos and did them so well.

Yes Totally Hot is one of her best albums. I have always thought that and had it confirmed the other day when I read some music critic's summation of her career. But I love everything she does and always have.

  • She is beautiful. Women please dont cut your hair to look like a dude. Long hair equals women in my book. Check out Olivias MAGIC video. Long hair and so sexy.

  • What a grinding mid tempo groove, excellent production, strong lyrics and she sings the Shi* out of it!!!! Nails it. Very heated & sultry....and what about where she slides it at the end...what is is singing? Kinky fun, kinky fun for you? That was blowing my mind when I was little, we use to sit around and play the end repeated trying to figure it out.

  • "Can't keep on, Can't keep on..keep on hurtin you."

  • Great song. Back in the days when music videos were not extravaganzas!

  • It's a shame so many only know her as 'Take Me Home Country Roads' and 'Grease'. Her 'Physical' and 'Totally Hot' albums were excellent, with some real;ly classy tracks - as this track proves!

  • Wasn't "Country Roads" John Denver? Anyway, I disagree....I think many people remember the Physical album, but yes,Totally Hot gets overlooked. Both those albums are my favorites. I wore them both out.

  • John Denver wrote it, but Olivia had a hit with it and became known by it. Denver was already well known, so let he go with it. Ask people and Grease would be way at the top, her country music second, and a long way back would be her 'real' music! It was her records companies fault, for example, putting Love Song as a B Side!

  • if that was him, tgbtnavon was a good-looking man. the whole concept for the video album was great. loved every video they did for the album including this one.

  • THANX 4 POSTING! Physical was an xcellnt album, and the first time I remembr seeing "videos"-the whole album was played on network tv as a special, & I remember thinking, "Huh, this is different, cool, & I really like it." If I had only known...LOL Btw, the musicianship on this is topnotch, even if th production is a little slick. Steve Lukather (Toto) Lenny Castro Carlos Vega & noone can coo like Liv-still gives me chills...And the all-time hottest album cover! (I still have it, too!)

  • Yes, I remember the special, too. The same week, she was featured In People magazine, wearing a sweatshirt that said, Physical on it. It was one of the first albums I bought. I even wrote to People asking where I could get the shirt. Oh, the memories! I recently re-purchased the album(vinyl) and love listening to it again. It's good to know there are so many of us fans left. I have admired here since I was a little girl!

  • Funny how that the single 'Physical' is so dated. But the album is so timeless.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG. I always thought it was funny that MCA seemed to give the biggest budget to a track that ultimately only wound up as a b-side (to Heart Attack) while Physical and Make A Move On Me had cheap videos. This should've been a single as well.

  • Great song. Do you have the video for "Recovery" - love that song

  • Oh yeah, me too! Great song.

  • I would like to see all that album's vids if anyone has them.

  • Good song,beautiful Olivia

  • HI LIVVY! Are you still watching these? It was a great time. Thanks...TG

  • Hi All!! Yes..I am the 'detective' is this video. Thanks to you all for your interest and kind comments. LIVVY was and and still is a STAR of the most kindest and genuine and generous nature.

  • Thanks for the correction. I just saw 'ASIA: The smile has left your eyes'. You good it it to.

  • That's so cute. I'm glad to hear she's nice as I still hope to meet her someday.

  • still think about you on occasion ms. dykstra...

  • i found myself in this exact situation a few years ago;these words were perfect for the situation.come to think about it, she sings a lot of songs about triangle love-affairs...

  • i remember watching that special on tv one late weeknight when i was not allowed to be up- i was ii years old. and that was when it happened; i fell not only in love with this creature, but it was my sexual awakening. i had a deep ache for this beauty as a kid and i didn't know what it was or what it meant. now that i am pushing 40 and this song is particularly haunting and sexy; anyone who has been in a love triangle would relate to the tension and indecision she speaks of.

  • Does anyone know who the actor that played the detective?

  • yes my cousin Terry {brian] Grant

  • The director, wow! Tell him I loved this video and he did a good job. He should be posted on IMDB for credit as an actor for this video also.

  • My cousin got this wrong. Brian Grant was the director and me, Terry Grant, the actor.

  • Hope you got my messages? Nice to know my Vids still appreciated! Suggest ASIA 'The Smile has left your eyes'

  • I LOVE Olivia Newton-John's music. This is one of the best from her best album "Physical". It should have been released as a single. It still sounds great after all these years.

  • Completely agree!

  • Does anyone recignise the London locations used in this video: the square and the theatre?

  • The Theatre was The Drury Lane and the 'square' Somerset House.

  • Drury Lane Theatre and Somerset House

  • favorite song off Physical

  • Beautiful woman and even more beautiful voice!

  • Awesome song, just awesome.

  • compilations of various artists & rock

    in my playlist, 4 anybody

who likes 2 watch excellent music video's......! All so 31 Films, and 62 Only fools and horses.

check it out b4 its all gone.....!

  • Olivia and Kylie Minogue my two favorite Aussies!

  • I just wish for her 'stanger's touch' on me.

  • Olivia is a class act you never hear anything nasty about her she never stooped to giving herself a bad name by doing something that would be unfavorable toward herself

  • Which one is John Farrar? I've never seen him without his beard.

  • John Farrar is the one on the keyboards. In this video and Make A Move On Me he sports a moustache.

  • No, it's not him...looks a bit like him, but definitely isn't.

  • I had no idea there was a video to this song. My favorite album of hers. Fabulous!

  • There's a video for each song on PHYSICAL!

The video album granted her a Grammy at the time.

This and LOVE MAKE ME STRONG are my 2 favourite songs from the album.

  • There's a video to every song on the Physical album. They're all available on the DVD "Olivia Gold"

  • I grew up in the 70's listening to Olivia and to this day she still amazes me. When I listen to some of the songs she sang with that smooth pure as gold voice of hers I'm glad I had the opportunity to hear a real singer at her best. Todays female singers don't even come close. Olivia was the complete package looks, fantastic voice with a range that could kill and a stage presense only the best have. They make them like her anymore.

  • Very true. Britney and all those others pale in comparison. OLIVIA is a true class act.

  • Not only was Olivia a class act in the 70's and 80's, she still is. Olivia at the height of her singing career never had accusations about drug use, was never arrested for DWI, and never went out without her underware to give the popparazzi a sneak peak.

  • I just love Olivia Newton-John. She has an amazing voice. CRYSTAL CLEAR.

  • From 1971 through 1983 Olivia Newton-John was the biggest selling solo female star. Not Linda Ronstadt (Linda was one of the biggest and the biggest selling female rock star in the same period), not Diana Ross, not Barbra Streisand, not Donna Summer. People forget that.

  • This looks to be about 1983, any experts out there know for sure ?

  • This was 1980/1981 from the Physical album

  • It was actually 1981... this was from a television special featuring songs from the Physical album plus a few favorites like A little more love and Magic from Xanadu. It was rated #10 fir the week that it aired

  • I saw it, I think it aired on ABC. It was an amazing experience for this viewer...I loved all of it and especially like her dolphin song video. Olivia is really just a classic singer. This video montage was really ahead of its time. Landslide was awesome...Silvery Rain (not sure if that is the name of the song) was poignant. Olivia is just wonderful.

  • this was an 81 from the physical album my dear

  • my gosh i remember my youth... this is wonderful

  • Such a CLASSY musical arrangement. Love the opening bars. Such a HOT song. It still gets to me.

  • Olivia...she's great in any setting.

  • Awesome!! I love her voice!

  • It was a pleasure to watch this videos, now it's some kind of madness of images of violence and sex, and easy women, you can't almost see who is "singing" (that's another issue)

  • There is no real performers anymore. The ones out now are all fake and on drugs. Olivia is a true performer to her values and to each song she sings. She puts her heart into it. Everybody else does it for nookie and FAME!

  • That's a pretty bold claim.

  • I love this song! A gem from the 'Physical' album.. I love the simplicity and lyrics of the song but I also love the 20's style video that captured the moment. I truly miss these kind of pop songs.

Olivia ..we need singer's like you again!

  • Olivia Newton John is my favorite performer. Just watch her videos and you will see why.

  • ONJ is the best!!

  • this is sandy from grease!!

  • This one not my music style but it is a nice son ;)
