  • I had a cottontail rabbit, and he lived with us for a year, but then we set him free. He always kept coming back to be with me up until he passed away. ):

  • Questions!!!! I have 2 baby cottontail bunnies that are a couple weeks old. Is there any advice you can give me? And I found 2 ticks on one of them.....what should I do?

  • how did u get him to live

  • @Amberolsonrules

We fed him a special formula while she was young and graduated her to other vegetables and grasses later on. No commercial rabbit food at all.

  • Where did you get that litter box?

  • It was purchased at Petco or Pet Smart.

  • Rabbits, especially wild cottontails, are not supposed to be in the full sun like that.

  • Meh they like it.

  • OH that bunny is so cute!

  • i was just wondering since my bunny just gave birth yesterday (dec. 23, 2007) and i don't know why but for some reason, the mother won't breastfeed them, and since we don't have a small enough baby bottle, we use a dropper to feed them milk, how often do you feed them and for how long until they can eat solid materials? please help me.. i'd really appreciate it.=)

  • is that an actual wild rabbit from the wild that ou raised from a baby> if so well done i didnt think it was possible with wild types, i like the domestic variety also, if u can breed wild rabbits with the domestic kind you could get a new type altogether :)

  • Yes, Melvin is a wild cottontail we rescued before her eyes opened. I hope you'll look at all 15 videos we have of her. She will be a year old around Xmas!! She has done great! She is a joy to have! Thank you for writing!

  • I guess we just had luck on our side. We knew the success rate was very low with baby cottontails. We owe a great deal to a dear friend in Oregon who has a lot of experience in raising a wild rabbit, and gave us a lot of advice. The milk formula we used, I feel, played an important part in her survival. We love Miss Melvin so much, and hope that she'll be with us for a long time. Please Google search Whitman Barnyard and you can see more pictures of her growing up. Thank you for writing!

  • what kind of formula did you feed her when you rescued her? adorable rabbit,btw...she's well on her way to becoming a full-fledged doe!! don't want her getting outside too much tho...lots of dangerous things out there, nature can be so cruel. but who knows, she just might find a handsome buck and get settled down to a litter of her own!! she's got a great coat on her too!

  • Why is an eastern cottontail in a cage?

  • Miss Melvin has 15 videos and thru them it is explained why she is in a cage and not running in the wild. She was rescued before her eyes opened. Thanks for writing!

  • I supposehat it is necessary to protect him from the dangers in a household (the other animals(cats), cables and other things which provoke the curiosity of the rabbit lady), and after this rabbit has been raised in a house, it would be its deth to set him free. the bunny has lot his natural shy of humans and other animals and would be surely killed by the first dog crossing its way. it would be a pity for the little bunny

  • all she needs is a bikini and some lotion! love her!

  • he didn't seem very relaxed

  • aweeeee so sweet = )
