When you said this game makes you think it does. Like in the Space Stage. You could chose the Grox or be good but on the good side you might go across empires that are at war with each other but not you. Than you have to chose your side and hope for the best. I tried the Darkspore Demo and it does not feel that great to me. For me Spore is about hard picks and making anything you want when you want.
I'd double-like this if I could. The melancholy nature of this piece is really fitting when reminiscing about parts of your creature's history that you'll never return to. Considering I got Spore back in Jan '09, and still have an active empire that bisects an arm of the galaxy...it's nice to reminisce :)
If there is anything i can say its that this track was beautifully made and implemented well. It reflects our entire existence as a species, that life really is beautiful, that its sacred and that we all share a common goal and that is life
@selearemus Im not stupid. I understand evolution quite well and its true... however, scientists can be very stupid people and I dont accept all their arguements (in science many things are just widely accepted theories). Back to my point, sure I believe in it but I am more certain that us being here is more than mere chance. Science was never about why?, like cave johnson said, its about "why not". Why not believe the people who tell you we "need" vegetables when we evolved on fruit and meat?
If 4.2 billion years of torturous evolution through natural selection could be condensed into 7 1/2 minutes of musical form this track would represent it.
@hitchman84 I love this comment. :) That's one of the reasons why I think ambient is such a potent musical genre. It forces the mind into thinking about that kind of thing.
The universe revealed by science is beyond awesome. But its explanations are usually rather analytical. The music, and the emotion it stirs, drives those unfathomable prospects and time spans home.
This makes me feel amazing inside. Spore was a brilliant game and i loved playing ever second of it. Galactic adventures is only part of it all.

I wish Brian Eno would release a Spore Soundtrack instead of another lame album on Warp

I love how Spore tells you how long it took. It took my cell over 5 billion years to get to creature stage.

I love this piece so much that I've left the history open on a laptop, turned the volume up, and fallen asleep to it.
