I'm glad someone has got some footage of this because words havn't done it justice. I was working over in Camp Holland when the intial blast went off. It was like the noise went through you and everyone just went WTF!!! It was a sight to see everyone coming out their holes like Meerkats to see what was happening. It was a VBIED Tri Cycle parked between two tankers which was the initial explosion and the other went up in due course. 1 Civilian KIA,
Yeah, that was definetly the highlight of my deployment and it happened right at the beginning of my tour. You could feel the heat from where we were standing and we also took videos but as of yet we are not allowed to post them. It was pretty bad...I believe it was 8 tankers from what I counted after closer inspection. From the angel the video was taken it seems to have been taken at Camp Cole.
I was there that day. Working on the new air traffic control tower. We stopped and went back to the seabee yard and stood on the conex box and got the whole thing on tape. Everyone freaked with that bleve it was the first one I ever seen.
That was a crazy day I was in the dfac when the initial went off. The sub sonic wave was unbelievable
