@skyscraper19802000 *nods* exactly, just as there are many different American accents and many different Canadian accents...it all depends on where in the countries you live as to which dialect ya have. Apparently Americans don't seem to think England is big enough to have different dialects. ;)
There are many different English accents. Scouse, Brummie, Cockney, Geordie and many more variations depending on location. Americans just don't seem to get it!! We don't all sound the same.
@skyscraper19802000 Its funny cuse I am Slovak and I know different between English accents :>> Or maybe I have gift know different dialects, not just english ones
@Indium Blue: that´s exactly what I´ve thought aswell...sometimes there´s the impression that Tim Roth wanted to say more and she just jumped in and chatted cheerily along ;) ^^ it was funny, coz he was the main attraction one might think before watching this vid, afterwards it´s clear that the interviewer was the main attraction ^^ really funny
@anniexanonymous I hate the way Americans think the way we talk is 'cute'. That's what English sounds like when it's pronounced properly! But Tim Roth sounds very East London. There's no single generic English accent like there's no single generic American one.
Boy oh boy, after watching his show " lie to me " and knowing what to look for thanks to that show and my own interest in body language. He is passing purple twinkies in this video. Very uncomfortable and very much acting like he is sky high on something! I love is show " lie to me". Great actor.
I want to preface this with the fact that I LOVE Tim Roth. That said. Does anyone else notice.. the diff between interviews from just 3 0r 4 years ago to now? Honestly. He's always been rather "manic", but he seems a bit..... shall I say "distracted", to be kind? He never had soooooo much of the stuttering and hand gestures?!! I've viewed several videos, so it's not a one-off. I dunno.Opinions? Just adore and respect him and hope he's ok.
@elfielvr Somebody else made a similar observation about him. Suggesting some sort of developing disorder. All I know is he is new to me and I am in the middle of checking out his work from the past. I absolutely love him in Lie To Me. Next to House, that is my favorite show. Tim is a tough, sure of himself, bold, energetic and a seemingly intellectually thinking type of person as well. He comes across as very, very attractive this way. The interviewer kept cutting off his sentences. Annoying!
If you're looking up Tim, you have to see Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. He and Gary Oldman are so funny and sweet. So different from their usual roles.
@elfielvr I feel the jitterbug in him doesn't originate so much from what I think you're implying, but rather an impatience with the media outlets he had always wanted to avoid associating with. Hearing the questions from the woman interviewing him are pretty mindless and frustrating.
@elfielvr he appears to have extreme stage fright when he is not hiding behind a character and to be without muscle relaxants (probably drug free now).
The woman needs to learn to shut up once she asks a question and let the guy answer!
I just saw the amazing duel scene from "The Legend of 1900" and was just thinking the same thing. He didnt practically changed from then and that was 10 years ago.
i always found it funny how americans are syaing to english people that they have an accent, they are english, and you are speaking their language, YOU have an accent, lol
umm, i'm pretty sure he didnt play the piano in the movie although it would make him even cooler if he did! I studied the film at GCSE english and my teacher said that it wasnt him playing, but what does she know? haha x
Yes, I saw the movie The Legend of 1900 a couple of weeks ago. I would like to know if Tim actually plays the piano in the movie. I've done Google searches but can't find anything about it. I like Tim in the movie, I like the story, the scenery and of course the piano music.
whitespideralex, Tim did a very good job at looking like he was playing the piano. I too like him as an actor, he seems to be an ok person too, he has a lot of charisma. Thanks for your help on this.
He actually does know how to play a bit. He played silent night in the movie. You know, in that one scene where Jelly challenged him and he appeared to be stumped. In an interview or something somebody said he could play.
Ok, i sounded pretty mean. that was harsher then what i was thinking. I mean to say, that Roth was very attractive when he was younger, like Reservoir Dog days. I think he is an incredible actor though, so amazing! =D love you, Roth!
tim roth is hot now, but yes... I agree with you that he was really attractive when he was younger. I love him in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead!
his accent is gorgeous, don't you reckon ?
