Natural or not, I feel best when my diet is mainly composed of cooked animal. I believe that it has become very trendy for people to consider meat as bad and unhealthy, I feel nothing is further from the truth. Meat has a list of health benefits that make just about every other food (except eggs) look pretty weak in comparison. From the high quality absorbable amino acid profile to the very absorbable iron it contains, meat is a great food.
@NancyHey Really, over 50% of the people seen for heart attacks have normal or below normal cholesterol levels. Also, the fact is people with low cholesterol are more likely to DIE from a heart attack. @tickyul There is no evidence that either the amino acids or the iron in meat is more absorbable than those found in plants. The best way to optimize the absorption of iron is to consume Vit. C with it. Also, if your diet is composed mainly of cooked meat, it would be hard to get sufficient fiber, as meat has none.

The amino acid profile of meat is much broader than just about any plant, another fact. No need to add anything to meat, it is a nutritional powerhouse just as it is. And what about things like B vitamins and Dha/Epa (not Ala), you cannot get these from the Vegancult diet. As for my leg press workout, it doesn't take all day. My rest time is little more than what it takes to load the next plates on. My workouts hover in the 45 min range including warm up & cool down; I rely on short rests and super sets. I'm hardly the strongest man in the gym let alone the world, but thanks.
Kenneth Williams is the BEST! I love using him as an example when people try to convince me that I "must be malnourished" because I don't eat dairy and meat.

As a longtime vegetarian - 25+ years - I'll share my part of my 44th birthday workout: 22 consecutive chinups, followed by 44 consecutive dips, and 44 consecutive reps on the leg press with double my bodyweight. After finishing the rest of my workout, I spent just over 3 hrs training karate kata, seven katas 44 times each. At 44, I can do more one arm pushups than most men can do w/ two.
Even though I've been focusing more on lifting weights than on calisthenics, a few months prior to my 44th b'day I was able to crank out 100 consecutive pushups. Hardly world record-setting, but it stacks up favourably compared to any Army or Marine fitness test. None of this is meant as specious bragging, just statement of fact. You're 38? On my 38th b'day, I did 38 consecutive deadlifts with the equivalent of my bodyweight. How are your workouts going, missedyernutrition?
I too am a vegan and I practice taekwondo and I lift weights 4 days a week and I have no problems.
People don't want to accept that a vegan diet is superior to a meat diet.
I also served in the US Army and i'm stronger and have more stamina now at age 32. I was actually weaker 12 years ago when I was going through basic training. I know my increased strength and stamina is the result of my vegan diet.

Bing! Hey, I never said it was record-breaking. But if you check what is expected of a 20 yr old Marine, you'll see that stacks up pretty good. I use relatively strict form esp on the dips, but I definitely struggle on the chin ups. BTW, if 22 chinups and 44 dips "is nothing," how many can you do?

Trace amounts of carcinogens in cooked food is likely no more harmfull than sitting over a camp fire or smelling poop- trace amounts of certain things are just fine. Even dangerous chemicals and posions are okay at a low level. Think about how a person can become emune to a posion if they take a safe amount then slowly raise the amount till its no longer deadly. Vegetarians on average live 3years longer. This explained by the fact they dont get cloged veins and overweight- things people get from overeating. If a person eats meat reasonably(or works hard like in Iceland) they also are less likely to get these problems. Reasonable portions of cooked meat is just fine, I dont dout excess can be damaging. What have you to say about the long living people of Okanowa and Iceland? They both cook meat and eat it(Japanese is mostly fish and sea animals, but I dont think thats a huge deal).

One could say its more healthy because its much easier to get all the stuff you need if you eat a wide veriety of food than if you work a=hard to get it out of vegan food. The difference between bodybuilders relying on animal sources is that the vegan eating intelligently is exposed to less oxidative stress over a lifetime= less degenerative diseases. While impressionistic ppl will see bodybuilders under the influence of meat, those bodybuilders are as susceptible as anyone to the common epidemics of the standard poor meat/processed diet effects that shorten life expectancy & cripple ppl in old age..
Lots of bodybuilders have a bad heart because they dont do cardio and only lift. Still, bodybuilders(like Jake Lalane) do live longer if they dont get into unhealthy habits like drugs(Mary jane and others sorts are common- anabolic steroids can effect a person if they go off it after using it for a long time, ect) and being lazy. Vegans get cancer and other such things like everybody else, and they dont live any longer than a meateater who eats reasonably and exercises(its overstressed).

I didnt say they get the same amount, I only said they get cancer. I'd say most people who lived up to 100 eat cooked food(Lalane is in his 90's and he does), so I dont think whatever trace amount of carcinogens are from cooking are harmful- especially if fruit and other food provides anticarcinogens to take out what you get from meat. An all meat no exercise lifestyle is bad, but a meat along with other food and exercise is just as healthy as the vegan diet.

Im not Vegan. I know both meat eating, and vegan body builders, and do some fitness and body buildning myself.
Ive seen vegan guys do 50 kg biceps curls even though they never take supplements. I am a meat eater and I eat both Whey Protein, Mass Powder, Creatine and multi vitamintabs...
I eat around 4000-4500 calories a day, work on my body 4 days a week, and have gained 11 kgs since a year ago, much of that on vegetarian meals.

You only need a small amount of protein extra from the norm. What you need lots more of are whole carbs (none of that refined crap) and good fats. Eat lots of flax, salba, avocados, extra virgin olive oil, tofu, and leafy green vegetables. And then just make sure you are eating MORE of all that. When you are not lifting, eat. Thats all I can say I am running out of characters rofl.

I am vegan and when I used to do heavy weight trainining I wasn't building up much mass. But when people with twice as much mass as mine were training they were watching over and couldn't bear the shear strenght and effortless of my reps. Now you figure this out.
A lot of herbivores are strong and buff lean and swift. Yes but the SMARTEST creatures in the world are Carnivores, who have to work out plans to kill the creatures that are strong and buff, lean and swift.
I am one of the six billions smartest creatures in the world, but I am also emotionally intelligent. This raises my morals so high that my spiritual choice is to be vegan.

Natural or not, I feel best when my diet is mainly composed of cooked animal. I believe that it has become very trendy for people to consider meat as bad and unhealthy, I feel nothing is further from the truth. Meat has a list of health benefits that make just about every other food (except eggs) look pretty weak in comparison. From the high quality absorbable amino acid profile to the very absorbable iron it contains, meat is a great food.

@tickyul There is no evidence that either the amino acids or the iron in meat is more absorbable than those found in plants. The best way to optimize the absorption of iron is to consume Vit. C with it. Also, if your diet is composed mainly of cooked meat, it would be hard to get sufficient fiber, as meat has none.

The amino acid profile of meat is much broader than just about any plant, another fact. No need to add anything to meat, it is a nutritional powerhouse just as it is. And what about things like B vitamins and Dha/Epa (not Ala), you cannot get these from the Vegancult diet. I have eaten many different ways, what makes me feel best is what I base my opinion on, that is the healthiest diet for me. I have tried low fat, high protein and just about everything in between. Bing! You're the one who said you could curl MY bodyweight, remember. (I can comfortably curl 1/2 my bodyweight for about 8 reps, and uncomfortably curl more for about 4 to 6.)
As for my leg press workout, it doesn't take all day. My rest time is little more than what it takes to load the next plates on. My workouts hover in the 45 min range including warm up & cool down; I rely on short rests and super sets. I'm hardly the strongest man in the gym let alone the world, but thanks.

Hey, missedyernutrition. Let me know when you post a clip of how great and wonderful and strong you are. As a longtime vegetarian - 25+ years - I'll share my part of my 44th birthday workout: 22 consecutive chinups, followed by 44 consecutive dips, and 44 consecutive reps on the leg press with double my bodyweight. After finishing the rest of my workout, I spent just over 3 hrs training karate kata, seven katas 44 times each. At 44, I can do more one arm pushups than most men can do w/ two.

Even though I've been focusing more on lifting weights than on calisthenics, a few months prior to my 44th b'day I was able to crank out 100 consecutive pushups. Hardly world record-setting, but it stacks up favourably compared to any Army or Marine fitness test. None of this is meant as specious bragging, just statement of fact. You're 38? On my 38th b'day, I did 38 consecutive deadlifts with the equivalent of my bodyweight. How are your workouts going, missedyernutrition?

I too am a vegan and I practice taekwondo and I lift weights 4 days a week and I have no problems.
People don't want to accept that a vegan diet is superior to a meat diet.
I also served in the US Army and i'm stronger and have more stamina now at age 32. I was actually weaker 12 years ago when I was going through basic training. I know my increased strength and stamina is the result of my vegan diet.

Bing! I thought you had a heart attack or something. Obviously your reading comprehension skills are lacking, too. The "double my bodyweight" on the leg press was for 44 consecutive reps, tough guy. And that was only a tiny fraction of that particular workout. Not to get into a pissing contest but currently my leg press workout would be 270x24 reps, 450X18 reps, 630X12. And then I do front squats...
BTW, I'm 170lbs. You can curl that for how many reps?

Bing! Hey, I never said it was record-breaking. But if you check what is expected of a 20 yr old Marine, you'll see that stacks up pretty good. I use relatively strict form esp on the dips, but I definitely struggle on the chin ups. BTW, if 22 chinups and 44 dips "is nothing," how many can you do?

a lot more than that, you see i do weighted chins and dips, chins i do 2 warm up sets of 10 then go to 3 sets of 15 with a 25 pound attached, and for dips i use the seated machine (very effective) for 12x100, 10x120 and 10x140, next! oh and by the way i LOVE the comment you made to yourself on your homepage

Trace amounts of carcinogens in cooked food is likely no more harmfull than sitting over a camp fire or smelling poop- trace amounts of certain things are just fine. Even dangerous chemicals and posions are okay at a low level. Think about how a person can become emune to a posion if they take a safe amount then slowly raise the amount till its no longer deadly. Also, explain george burns who smoked and drank while eatting cooked foods.

If you need a reason why I think humans where made for meat then let me put it this way- people can live long healthy lives eatting meat. If people wherent ment to eat meat they would at the very least be made sickly, but it turns out this only happens in excess. Jake Lalane is in his 90's, and he eats cooked meat(Jake Lalane honey mustard chicken is goooood!). He lives long because he didnt overeat and he exercised alot. Come to think of it, an excess of veggies could also be unhealthy

Vegetarians on average live 3years longer. This explained by the fact they dont get cloged veins and overweight- things people get from overeating. If a person eats meat reasonably(or works hard like in Iceland) they also are less likely to get these problems. Vegatarians on the other hand have the problem with getting Omaga 3 and protein, along with other nutrians the meat eatter gets. Let me put it this way- both diets can be unhealthy.

One could say its more healthy because its much easier to get all the stuff you need if you eat a wide veriety of food than if you work a=hard to get it out of vegan food. Back to the point I had to begien with- I've never seen a strong vegan or a big vegan- vegans are perfectly healthy, they just cant get very strong without nessicary proteins and fats.

The difference between bodybuilders relying on animal sources is that the vegan eating intelligently is exposed to less oxidative stress over a lifetime= less degenerative diseases. Lots of bodybuilders have a bad heart because they dont do cardio and only lift. Still, bodybuilders(like Jake Lalane) do live longer if they dont get into unhealthy habits like drugs(Mary jane and others sorts are common- anabolic steroids can effect a person if they go off it after using it for a long time, ect) and being lazy. Vegans get cancer and other such things like everybody else, and they dont live any longer than a meateater who eats reasonably and exercises(its overstressed).

I'd say most people who lived up to 100 eat cooked food(Lalane is in his 90's and he does), so I dont think whatever trace amount of carcinogens are from cooking are harmful- especially if fruit and other food provides anticarcinogens to take out what you get from meat. An all meat no exercise lifestyle is bad, but a meat along with other food and exercise is just as healthy as the vegan diet.

There is no conflict- I only said vegans get cancer like everybody else. They wont get certain cancers caused by excess protein or anything like that, but they still get other forms of cancer. Lots of things are genetic or based on other factors. Basically, I dout people get cancer from cooked food unless they where to eat a whole ton of it. Any cancer in meateaters could be linked to other things, and the fact almost everyone over 100 eats cooked food proves the danger is at avoidable

Isnt the length of life the best sign of health? I saw the case of a black woman in the south who lived to 100, and she eats what they call Black American Diet(BAD).

Im not Vegan. I know both meat eating, and vegan body builders, and do some fitness and body buildning myself.
Ive seen vegan guys do 50 kg biceps curls even though they never take supplements. I am a meat eater and I eat both Whey Protein, Mass Powder, Creatine and multi vitamintabs...
I eat around 4000-4500 calories a day, work on my body 4 days a week, and have gained 11 kgs since a year ago, much of that on vegetarian meals.

You only need a small amount of protein extra from the norm. What you need lots more of are whole carbs (none of that refined crap) and good fats. Eat lots of flax, salba, avocados, extra virgin olive oil, tofu, and leafy green vegetables. And then just make sure you are eating MORE of all that. When you are not lifting, eat. Thats all I can say I am running out of characters rofl.

Eating lower on the food pyramid, plants and vegetables are appropriate than consuming higher on top of the food scale , large mammals or aimals that exist in fewer numbers than the billions of plants that build bodies of BOTH animals and humans. It is definitely less costly to the environment to eat green than to rear animals that end up on our plates at the cost of inefficient use of Earth's precious and depleting resources (petroleum oil, water and land).

HELLO? B12 is ALWAYS from bacteria. Yes vegans integrate pure B12 that was fermented in a kettle. Those are the same bacteria as are in insects, cow stomachs, water puddles. There is NO NEED to shoot a cow in the head for B12 when you can grow these SAME bacteria with a method similar to making BAKERS YEAST. So baking bread is "unnatural"? I am vegan and when I used to do heavy weight trainining I wasn't building up much mass. But when people with twice as much mass as mine were training they were watching over and couldn't bear the shear strenght and effortless of my reps. Now you figure this out.

You don't need a food that has a complete protein. That's an old myth. You just need to get all the essentials throughout the day. Vegans don't have to choose ONE plant food to eat. They can eat variety to get all the nutrients they need.
