Yeah whoever said it is right, in the manga Akane is way nicer and more reasonable. Also the American voice actress says like every one of Akane's lines with so much anger. The manga is the best!

if you've known of Rumiko Takahashi's, "Maison Ikoku", which comes even earlier than ranma and inuyasha, you'l find that kagome is an exact duplicate of Maison's Kyoko. The resemblance is amazing

They're kinda the same in personality anyway! And they're from the same creator....duh. But I think both the actors fit the character , but the old voice is better at freaking out. But I'll tell you one thing, Akane sure is nicer, prettier and less violent in the manga. That's kinda why I pains me to watch this show with Akane being like that, even though I LOVE THIS SHOW, and it's still funny anyways.
