  • I was never a huge, dedicated fan of Skinny Puppy, but some of their music was obviously incredible, and deserved much more attention than it got. I owned 'Rabies' on cassette and also 'Last Rites' on CD. Favorite songs by SP were (and still are) 'Killing Game' and 'Tin Omen'. Incredible that this song still holds up and moves me the same way it did back in '93. Anyone else still creating art like this?

  • @JNugent74 Nobody is like Skinny Puppy. I remember the first time I heard them. I was in 8th grade. My brother was a DJ at his college & brought home "Too Dark Park". I'd never heard anything like it, and never have since. They pioneered techniques using analog equipment 25 years ago that people today struggle to do with computers.

    Pure fucking genius.

  • Rape rape rape rape rape rape rape

  • i really can't believe this song is like 19 years old... i remember last rights coming out. That comment about still listening to SP when you get old... i'm doing it.

  • Send in the clowns...

  • yea ......

  • ..........Epic

  • It's just so fucking dark, and like... morbidly beautiful!

    Eargasm all the way!

  • Skinny puppy <3

  • один раз услышав эту песню в 91м слушаю скинни до сих пор

  • this song mixed with a lot of alcohole was a real bad mix for me in the early 90s ... i got so insane violent and short temper ..........but yes this song is stil real good

  • @gardini100 k.

  • @gardini100

Too bad you never tried this with Ecstasy... you would have dry-humped everything you came across... or had the best sex you could possibly imagine...

  • @DrunkenLeprechaunPro HAHAHA...i did..it was lovely

  • HD would be orgasmic.

  • Here, amazed

  • This has to be one of the best Skinny Puppy videos I have seen and a one of their best songs in the Puppy catalog.

  • It's amazing to me that so many people are ignorant of the evolution of Industrial. it's a holistic thing: you can't say any one band is 'the father of industrial'; many contributed, Einstürzende Neubauten, SP, Front 242, Front Line Assembly, Ministry, Godflesh, etc. etc.

Like all music, the individual performers interpret and add to the whole cloth that make up the genre.

  • a very underrated group (duo) imo.... nothing against NIN and Manson (and I'm not trying to start an argument here), but how the hell did skinny puppy remain underground yet the first 2 got massive success? I know SP don't have a really commercial sound, but they are one of the most unique bands I've ever heard/saw.

  • @hellchild65 I hear ya, but it's always seemed to me that the truly artistic bands that actually bring something to the table and not just cater to the "flavor of the month" mentality, typically never get huge. They do however, develop a strong cult following like Puppy has. Mr. Bungle is another band that I can think of off the top of my head that basically is in that same category. One of the most unique bands ever, but yet hardly anybody even knows about them.

  • @SecretAgent068 You see you answered your own question right there. There unique, modern day society dosn't like unique things. We aparently want everything to sound the exact same aka auto tuned crap about sex and money. If something is unique then we automatically think that its like dissease ridden and try to bury it deep down under the earth's crust. I'm a huge fan of both Skinny Puppy and Mr. Bungle and I think both should be so much bigger than they are.

  • @SlowmoLife It's really sad to think there will never be another Bungle album - at least according to Patton there won't be. I also heard he had a falling out with Trey but that could be just rumor. I was lucky enough to see them on the California tour which Warner Bros. basically gave them no support whatsoever (typical). If you haven't already, check out Estradasphere and Secret Chiefs 3; you won't be disappointed.

  • @SecretAgent068 I have actually heard some Secret Chiefs 3 and there pretty good but i havent heard about the other one. Also you should check out Dog Fashion Disco and Polkadot Cadaver, two bands (one made from teh remaning members of the other) that basically pray at the Mike Patton and Mr. Bungle alter

  • one of my favorite songs ever

  • Wow! Some people are just not to be believed! Skinny Puppy is not a starting point of industrial music, only a bright point along a very long line. Same goes for Ministry, KMFDM, and other greats that have come and gone. Please put your digits to use for other than picking your nose and, look at Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV, and a whole host of other GREAT innovators of industrial music. Start your time-line somewhere back in the 60's and 70's if you want to see industrial creation.

  • @BorisBR549 Psychic TV! Haven't heard them in over 15 years. I saw them together with puppy sometime in the early 90s. I absolutely adore Skinny Puppy, but Psychic TV put on the best live performance I have ever seen in 20 years of going to shows. As groundbreaking as SP was acoustically, Psychic TV was visually. Mindblowing.

  • Skinny Puppy is, was, and will allways be Amazing !!!!

  • I'm not goth or anything and I listen to SP. You don't have to associate yourself with a lifestyle or trend to know good music

  • NIN fail and Marilyn Manson especially fails.

If it weren't for Skinny Puppy neither would exist.

  • @woodchipperfaceplant Very Correct !

  • RIGHTS* -.-"

  • Ever since I saw Orge from Skinny Puppy in the movie Repo! The Genetic Opera, I've been a fan of Skinny Puppy

  • WTF.....BTW Mythrous tour was awesome

  • christ! skinny was and stil are legends in the art of industrial....

  • Im not sure what the arguing is about in here. But SP does not count as goth. They may have not been the pioneers of industrial, but they sure fuckin rocked my nutz off before anyone else did. No one like em!

  • i've tattooed sp on my skin when i was 12

  • Comment removed

  • One of the most riveting songs I have ever heard. Not for the faint of heart.

  • This song is absolute genius. I think everyone could learn something from if you really listen to the lyrics..

  • a great classic

  • I've hacked up so many people to this song. So inspirational to remove the scum

  • i used to stone out to this music, and let the music and lyrics wash away all other thoughts in my mind.

  • Skinny Puppy,Frontline Assembly, and Front 242...3 of the greatest bands ever to grace industrial.

  • @noisegog add :wumpscut: and leather strip to it, the top 5 industrial bands.

  • @noisegog: YEAH - fuck all of the new shit, that sounds same!

  • @noisegog

Dont forget The Klinik, Dive, Vomito Negro and and and ....

    All are awesome Bands....

Thumbs Up for this Vid. TY for Uploading

  • @noisegog You forgot Coil and Throbbing Gristle.

  • @Isosyth Throbbing Gristle were a mistake, their avant-garde nature wasn't supposed to land them where they did. Also, to be great, you need to be good. If we were going soley off how influential the band was then Venom are the best band in heavy metal.... We (at least I) know for a fact that they aren't.

  • @MorkaGraven Eh, I guess they're subjectively great then (one of my favorites). I see what you were saying though.

  • @noisegog

    It was primarily EBM

  • The 80's goth roots are punk you stupid ass motherfucker. Haha. This is so fucking retarded.

  • Hail skinny puppy

  • Why is it that on every good music video on youtube, there's a "goth" argument. Stop labelling yourselves, listen to the goddamn music and let the people who shout across the street at you judge whether you're "goth" or not.

Don't get shouted at? You're probably not "goth" then. (Or just live in Leipzig).

  • Alot of narrowminded petty bullshit in here yeah???....The term "Goth" is used way too much..... For being such a severely limited genre.... Skinny is Skinny.... 'nuff said :-)

  • Immortal gods, are they. No one ever has, or ever will compare to them!

Anyone who hates is afraid of their own subconcious thoughts...

  • Easy there guys, when Skinny Puppy came out THEY LITERALLY HAD NO NAME TO GIVE THE GENRE WE CREATED.

    -C.K.

  • Goth sucks... this is electro industrial You get It?? No fucked up shit, just pure ear orgasm. Heard of the Puppy, Frontline Assembly , Wumpscut , Leaether Strip , Velvet acid christ? All top notch industrial acts.

  • I don't tend to associate my music with culture. Whenever I do it makes it filthy.

  • Number 1 and always will be! Skinny Puppy for ever!

  • This is funny.

  • They will be in Stockholm 27th july and I am maybe in Stockholm too this day. Maybe I go and see them :)))

  • Art

  • que bestia

  • hhmmm i like the live version on Doomsday: back and forth vol. 5 much better. The album version isn't sung as well.. my opinion. cool vid though.

  • I've been listening to Skinny Puppy for 15 years and they only get better

  • I think if I make it to old age I will still be listening to SP

  • @chandapants1 we should get together so we can see the strange looks together

  • @mdstrebeck I'm down!!

  • @chandapants1 You allready died. Sry.

  • sick song

  • Skinny Puppy = Conscience is an ability or a faculty that distinguishes whether one's actions are right or wrong. Spinzaar = ol korrekt.

  • Im not sure you can classify skinny puppy, they are engineers of some kind of subcon response. an alien horizon. industrial music is more trance state. these guys set a mood and then shatter it. in order to really get it you have to release judgement anyway.

  • in my days SP was called "electro body"

  • thats becuz SP did not really 'invent' industrial. yes they were industrial, but if you want to know the FOUNDERS of industrial then they have to be bands like Kraftwerk,Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, siouxie and the banshees etc. SP just took industrial to a new level.

  • Only two of those bands were industrial.

Kraftwerk were purely electronic, not industrial. Throbbing gristle certainly. Cabaret voltaire were some of the founders of industrial rock, not purely industrial music.

Siouxsie and the Banshees were more a proto-goth band.

Skinny puppy never, nor ever claimed to have ever invented industrial.

They are ONE of the creators of, specifically 'electro-industrial' music, if thats what you mean by a new level.

  • Always listened to this when i was really pissed off and wanted to put my fist through a wall.

  • video is fuking sweet

  • The first industrial artists experimented with varying degrees of noise, production techniques and what, at the time, were considered controversial topics.

Their production was not only limited to musical output. It also included mail art, performance art, installation pieces and other art forms. Originally, the term solely referred to music created by Industrial Records and related artists.

  • i agree with waste, although to the normal eye that would fall under industrial.

  • I just read the entire wikipedia page on "Industrial Music" and not once... NOT FUCKING ONCE... did they even mention Skinny Puppy. That's just fucking wrong as fucking wrong can fucking be. What fuckbrain wrote that wiki page? That's like writing a page on "Heavy Metal" and forgetting to put Ozzy Osborn in there... or writing a page on "Psychadelic Rock" and forgetting to put Pink Floyd in there.

  • That might be since SP is Electro Post-Industrial, not industrial. Huge difference. :p

  • its an open encyclopedia. maybe the person who created/edited it doesnt have as much depth in bands as much as the definition or stuff.

  • Well, Skinny Puppy gets its own genre of music! Its far to superior of music to be called "industrial"! Calling Skinny Puppy Industrial music would be an insult!!!! Skinny Puppy is the BEST band EVER!

  • Nivek Ogre for President!

  • Reminds me of Pink Floyd

  • Great video..love the song

  • this song recruited me to the puppy army

  • They just played tonight in Norfolk V.A. at the NorVa.and no this isnt hard to find at all..I have them all if u want to get them off me.

  • they were here last night in ft lauderdale wicked show!!!!

  • I hate you, I had tickets and Dwayne died that week. You're mean, or blessed by God or something.

  • you know whats awesome I was five when this album came out. I've heard from a few people it's the hardest one to find. and It's my favorite album ever and this song is my favorite of all time. so happy me and my hubby got to see them...

  • this is god under a different name willing you to listen to the noose by a perfect circle

  • I TAUGHT THE GAME FIRST!!!!!

  • there is no god

  • Last Right..,best album SP...

  • Wasn't Ogre doing a lot of heroin at the time this was made?

  • @spicyMcHAGGIS9green => Dwayne Goettel (RIP) was the heroin addict, he subsequently died from an overdose at his parents house in 1995. Ogre had a cocaine habit. And to my knowledge, they were all pot-heads...but who isn't? Now we can only imagine there was some amount of LSD in there too but that's for them to know.

  • People. Please stop the Goth arguing. 80's Goth roots are most of the Goth scene music, and then you have new age Goth music, like 'The Missing'. Slipknot is not a Goth band, so if you say that you listen to just Slipknot and think you're Goth, you're just an 'emo' or a poseur. I listen to some Slipknot, but they're not my favorite. If you say 'I'm just SO Goth', that's also self-mockery.

  • @Leanzo100

slipknot isn't emo its more teen angst

in fact i find it insulting listing it as emo

  • You do have a point. A very good one. But you don't have to find it insulting, a lot of emos do listen to Slipknot. I was saying that it's not Gothic.

  • well may have exaggerated, but yeah i get your point.

  • @Leanzo100 i dont care about names

i just like the music :\

  • @Leanzo100 [thumbsup] very good comment!

  • @Leanzo100

ha ha ha i love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Leanzo100 I think people that believe they are gothic need to understand that it's a feeling of keeping in touch with brutality and the grotesque. Not blood guts and gore, but something that most would deem ugly and barbaric. This is because it keeps the artist attached to the art work. Read "The Nature of Gothic" by Ruskin and you'll understand. You cannot be Goth based on what music you listen to or how you dress. If you want people to view you as Goth then sure that will work.

  • @TheTrevasaurusRex I'm not trying to get people to view me as anything, but I believe you are correct. Gothic is a state of mind, not a fashion statement. And when you say keeping in touch with the brutality and grotesque, I think one example would be taxidermy. Don't get me wrong, I love animals, I just think it's comforting to have them around me like that. Hell, my home looks like a 1940's oddity museum. But, again, you are correct there.

  • bot this brings me back to the 90's. Last Rites and The Process changed my life musically, image, and personality wise. Found a relatable medium for my angst and embraced the darkness wholeheartedly. RIP

  • THIS IS THE BEST SONG BY SKINNY PUPPY

  • skinny puppy is the bomb. peroid.

  • Dexter

  • LOL wow.. that gave me a laugh. "listen to some quality industrail like Mushroomhead or Rammstein" "industrail posing fags"

Haha wow. Thanks for the laught kid.

I suppose next you're going to tell me Ministry isn't industrial either. Do you even know how long these people have been around?

  • ummm mushroomhead is more modern styled industrial metal, not industrial

  • perhaps you are the "industrial posing fag" .. listing all the popular industrial bands... And if you are going to try and make any point regarding the term "industrial", you should show your respects to genesis p. orridge

  • thanks for posting

  • I haven't been yet so powerful and filled with an incredible strength before seeing and hearing my no1 band ever. we salutes you skinny puppy and praising you for the strong words you gave to us to live on them, many thanks to you for feeding my heart with hatred and strength.

  • VansEra07 you really need to listen and understand what REAL Quality Industrial Music is....

Yes Mushroomhead and Rammstein are great bands but Skinny Puppy is awesome so is Dash Ich and Laibach. Oh i bet you have not heard of them because you must be the poser.

  • kkk lives in indiana.

  • Last rights is such a good album, I would of hoped for a diffrent video for this song.

  • L-O-L! I almost gave you a thumb's up for your amazing execution of total fail.

  • ......This is INDUSTRIAL. Take that goth shit elsewhere.

  • VansEra, You're calling people kids, yet you're not acting any different yourself. You post a comment on a video of a group you don't even like. Naive. You don't like it? That's great for you. Go else where, it's really quite easy.

  • Alright, I'm backing down.. but please understand you and all "Road Kill Puppy" fans are a bunch of industrail posing fags! For god's sake, at least listen to some quality industrail like Mushroomhead or Rammstein. FUCK YOU ALL - VANSERAO7 OUT BITCHES!!

  • shut da fuk up, skinny puppy is the most influential industrial band God has ever made, this isn't an opinion it's just history

  • there is no god

  • if there wasn't a god, how could skinny puppy be so good

  • lol, i dont see god writing a response

  • I'm writing one now.

Sorry it took so long, I was dealing with that Palestein shit. It's all sorted out now, watch the news tonight.

  • @MolotovDaSkwerl yeah it already happened maybe nin but even nin can't copmpare two different monsters

  • @MolotovDaSkwerl I think Ministry and KMFDM have alot to answer for aswell

  • @azrael666ethereal

now Skinny Puppy just is, sure those other two are neat but they aren't even close to as influential

throbbing gristle is more significant then the two you mentioned as they really put the genre where it was, skinny puppy made it popular

and another band that started the genre of industrial music but i can think of the mane

  • @MolotovDaSkwerl Now I think about it you are right, Ministry and KM are more Industrial rock/metal in influence....

Throbbing Gristle were pioneers really and maybe the band you are thinking of is Einstürzende Neubauten????

I just think Ministry and KM and NIN are more influential because they do generally reach a wider audiance.. Not better just.... bigger I guess... SP are cool though!! ;)

  • @azrael666ethereal

they do indeed reach a wider audience but those bands were influenced by SP, which is why SP is the more influential band

it's cabaret voltaire, they were the band that inspired the interesting genre many of us enjoy today, throbbing gristle took that sound and made it what it is

  • @MolotovDaSkwerl EXACTLY!

  • @MolotovDaSkwerl they are part of it. i've been a a listener for about 23 years now some other bands influence them too. like legendary pink dots, coil, einsturzende neubauten. just name a few

  • @rubster1206

well you just gave me music to listen to

  • @MolotovDaSkwerl actually i would like to dissagree, although skinny puppy is a good band, Nine Inch Nails started playing industrial metal, they where the first ones so they are the best, i love NIN, Skinny Puppy, and Marilyn manson, all of which have played with NIN

  • @trickuh2

NIN was the most popular idunstrial stylalized band, if that makes sense, especially because NIN was influenced by SP quite a bit

  • @trickuh2

Being the first doesent means being the best.

I, for one dont really like NIN, however the sounds of SP, MM slipknot and Psyclon Nine is much more precious to me

  • @DowncastShade

    Skinny Puppy was before NIN

  • @MolotovDaSkwerl

Trent even states that their single 'Down In It' was influenced by SP.

  • @DowncastShade wow..you dont like nin, but you like a lame band such as slipknot..my opinion...but WOW!

  • @trickuh2

Skinny Puppy was active in 82, NIN 88

  • @trickuh2 Are you serious? Really? Skinny Puppy was waaay before NIN. Industrial "metal" ? LOL. Looks like you have a lot to learn, atleast read Trent Reznor's documents. The last thing he considers his music is "Metal" He also speaks of being influenced greatly from Skinny Puppy.

  • @trickuh2 Oh, either you're forgetting, or you're just dumb. NIN didn't start industrial(LOL). How about you check out Ministry, Lard, KMFDM, or Godflesh? There ya go. Next time think before you post, okay?

  • @intothepit83

completely agree! trickuh2 doesn;t know wtf he's talking about!

  • @intothepit83

Cabaret Voltaire started a sound that people liked, Throbbing Gristle took that song, and essentially invented antimusic, and Skinny Puppy refined the sound

those are the fathers of Industrial

but all those other bands are fine too

  • that goth shit?? goth is not shit learn some respect

  • it's just an opinion, don't be so sensitive; however people just talk shit on here so openly and recklessly because they can hide behind there computers like giant cowards

  • I didn't call goth shit, used the phrase as referring to the genre to group it together.

    Slipknot? Fuck off.

  • i love this song sooooo much.

    also for me, it's perfection.

  • almost perfect...should be longer with a different ending (after no melody part), anyway is wonderful

  • Leave the song alone! It is perfect! He isn't making a damn hit single for you!

Just kidding...when I first heard this song, I agreed, but now I love it the way it is anyways. Hmm, I could imagine them making a melodic outro, though. Interesting...

  • that is what i was talking about :P

  • I know, but I like wasting people's time. :P

  • skinny puppy isnt religious at all, i doubt if they are. they were using religion and showing that mankind abused religion, made war, i dont think Nivek is a misanthropist, he's just a smart human being who is aware of all the shit goin on around us.

  • memories..

  • We all taught the killing game.

  • Who taught the killing game?

  • I taught the killing game first.

  • I majored in the killing game in college.

  • Colonel Kurtz taught the Killing Game.

  • oh word

  • WHO TAUGHT THE KILLING GAME

  • SKINNY PUPPY !!!! CLEANSE FOLD AND MANIPULATE YOU F'IN WANKERS lol

  • SKINNY PUPPY RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1992

Ogre tells another viciously honest story about the state of things

If you understood the meaning of the story, you'd see the 'industrial' in it.

Heard the rest of the album, did you?

    Appreciated the context, yes?

Industrial is not just about the beat.

Anyone can clap loudly and quickly.

Best to have something worth saying while you are.

    THAT'S industrial
