  • Can you post the tabs for this song? :)

  • its kind of like an aura of feelings :)

  • waw... I love simon & garfunkel's version... It's beautiful ! But this one is amazing ! There's an atmosphere as Hinagiku82190 said and... I don't know how could I explain it but it makes me wonder, it makes me feel like I could fly, far far away, over the seas, the mountains, the deserts .. Well, over the world ! Very nice version and so good to hear :)

  • I suppose on the oriignal CD marked "Celtic Songs" they called them that because the arrangement has that dreamy ethereal Enya sound about it. A sound which is really modern pop more than anything actually Celtic anyway. That along with the fact it is a song from Yorkshire in England just goes to show that one shouldn't believe what arses write on CD covers. They are only trying to sell you a product.

  • if there was any word to describe this music regardless of its version, itd be 'Home'

  • this is good. :D

  • the picturews remind me to avatar somehow

  • this is a really incredible rendition of this song.

  • the forest of the celts! snowdonia

  • A very meaningful song ifpeople know what its about...very beautiful

  • this song could fit good in a movie!

  • Well played, though I'm completely against the idea of playing this song on an electric guitar...

  • 2:01 who is the picture of?

  • this song is awsome

P.S: where did you get the pictures

  • The girl @ 1:36 S TOTALLY CUTE & ADORABLE

  • WHAT are Celtic instruments? WHAT instrument is playing in this song? Does it look like a lewt, a ukelele?

  • @WildManChrisVEVO It's a guitar :) I know It's not actually a Celtic instrument, but this is the instrument I play ^^

  • @Stany89 Despite its Greek origins, i think the Guitar has earned itself a place as a Celtic instrument by now ! The Spanish were derived from the Celtoy tribes of Germania ! There Darker skins due too breeding with the Moors !! So that kinda makes Flamenco guitar Celtic !! Peace Ye`All !!

  • @WildManChrisVEVO it´s an effect song of the electric guitar, i think it´s ECHO mixed with Delay, but im not sure

  • I LOVE Celtic music!

  • Damn purty song! Thanks!

  • Nice work..

  • end of zombie apocalypse...

  • the romans came to celtic england not saxon england

  • @3tangle3 England was never Celtic. They tried to make it that way, but Celts were natural gurrilla warriors who outsmarted stupid little bastards who wanted to take over Scotland. Thats like saying there's British Ireland now. IRA are fighting soon-to-be descesed British occupants who just cant take no for an answer, no offense to those British.

  • @GabrielDaGamer Then what were the original inhabitants of England and lowland Scotland? They were Celts, albeit they weren't Gaels/Gauls/Galls.

  • "ORIGINAL CELTIC VERSION" WTF??????!!!!!!!

  • @RobbyWanKenoby england used to be celtic...many tunes are of these very days

  • @3tangle3 but this is not a piece of this period .. will have at least five centuries .. this is a joke semblice produced by a computer .. have poorly maintained the sensitivity of an artist who touched a musical instrument .. This is simple perpetual whining without a soul and groove .. music flat

  • "Original Celtic version" Since there are no records of the origin of this song it is impossible to tell! This version is very nice though.

  • i have recently started listening to celtic woman and have falling in love with celtic music and this is a great version of the song, and I would add great art work in the video.

  • I heard all the versions of this song and from every instrument.I think that ur version have the best balance, without overdoings...how can i have a hd version of this epic song?

  • medieval music...respect.....with love from greece.....

  • This is great..Thanks for posting this..love it

  • Beautiful story, beautiful music and beautiful illustrations. Thank you.

  • @Sodacake It was an english ballad, as the term "british" in its modern sense is a modern concept. It might have a link with another old scottish ballad, though that's just an idea. But it has no link with wales at all!

  • Pretty sure this is an old British ballad, not Celtic.

  • omg...this is so good......its beatiful and sad at the same moment....

  • Celestial song!

  • abusing the replay button...

  • perfect

  • Como se pueden pelear mientras escuchan algo tan hermosa?

  • I listened to this after just listening to Simon&Garfunkel's version.

This version gives me a totally different feeling.

It is hauntingly and sorrowfully beautiful, wrapped in an epic atmosphere (I don't know how to describe this feeling precisely, it is the feeling that is related to heroes or wars).

Anyway, thanks for posting this. ^ ^

  • I don't like it cuz there's no lyrics

  • @metallica3233 at least that's an honest opinion instead of just hating.

  • Damn this is badass.

  • This track is a drug <3!

  • I like it, there are not enough guitar only versions of this song, well done.

  • Is there any way to download this version? I like it very much :)

  • I've noticed that almost every argument on YouTube is either about religion, politics, or an American arguing with a non-American and vice versa

  • How can you all be arguing over such a beautiful song?

  • it's english song -.-

  • Awesome...Really nice...

It doesn't really sound like an electric guitar so nice job :)

  • dont know if its english or what? but its named after an english coastal town, scarborough, just wandering what scarborough fair, or scarborough festival must have been like to get a song like this writen about it

  • Wonderful - I really, really enjoyed listening to your guitar play.

  • Just to reiterate, Scarborough fair is a 17th century English folk song with lyrics that are very vaguely similar to a Scottish song called 'The Elven knight'. The tune is English, the Scots song does not even fit.

  • Scarborough is a seaside town in Yorkshire in England. The people there are Anglo Saxon/Viking. So this song aint Celtic.

  • @SvenTviking The original melody was Celtic in origin but lyrics were added and changed throughout the centuries. The reference to the English Scarborough Fair date back from the 19th Century onwards. So it didn't originate in England.

  • Bollocks and wankery.

    Shame for you!

  • well i still prefer the lammas fair in ballycastle :) and does any1 else agree lol :) ?

  • Ireland. Scotland. England. <3 All beautiful countries(hope to visit them one day).

There is no need to hate anything.

It is sad to see how people are narrow minded. No matter where they live, they are all the same. :[

  • enchanting

  • exelent

  • Ireland-Land of Song

    Scotland-Land of Literature

    England-Land of...? Wealth? I guess.

  • @jackdoldseven And what is America the land of?

  • @ManlnCognito America is not one of the Isles. But if you really have to ask me that you could say America is land of many things both positive and negative.

  • @jackdoldseven mainly negative

  • @ManlnCognito Opinionated comment coming from someone who has probably never been the U.S let alone holds the right to pass judgement of equal worth to my own about a country I've lived in most of my life. Experience two different point of views before opening your mouth I'm in Europe right now typing this and I've experienced most of this side of the world.

  • Comment removed

  • @jackdoldseven I dont care where you live or indeed where you live now...I just wish you AIDS and shit loud of Cancers

  • @ManlnCognito Is the reason you don't like celtics because you don't like getting your ass handed to you?

  • @MrPsychicHIPPO My “ass” is non of your concern you fat gay racist American moron.

How many people have you “heroes” killed? Hiroshima, Vietnam, Korea, Iraq...you scumbags are far worse than any tyrannical empire that has ever existed

  • @ManlnCognito Way to represent yourself with class. I am an American with Scottish background, and I'm proud to say my country and my heritage is not associated with yours. Go back to your monarchs you elitist prick.

  • @MrPsychicHIPPO Real Scottish people laugh at plastic American idiots like you...I’m also proud to say my background is nothing like yours and I’m ashamed that my country is associated with yours around the world.

“elitist” “Go back to my monarchs”..lol typical clueless yank

  • Fuck the Celt's...Anglo Saxon power

  • English not Celtic

  • @ManlnCognito Actually The Celts are the indigenous people of the UK territory. The Anglo-saxons migrated from the lands now known as Germany. Who cares they are still in the same family: The Germanic people/tribe. Not a big difference.

  • @SelinaMadel Yes I know, who has said otherwise? I’m proud to be Anglo Saxon and would hate to think I have Celtic blood..I hate Scotland Wales and Ireland...so what's your point?

  • @ManlnCognito YOur a mean person, second, I am 100% proud of Ireland ( MY Auntie was president) and I feel so sorry for you sir...Well, we Celtic's don't like you either you stupid, low life, arrogant, rude, tacky, disrespectful person you!!! Boyo, I am what I am .....I can't change that... be proud of who you are and quit being so hateful... I Leave you with this....cad a the'ann thart Tagann timpeal!!!Ansin beidh do dathanna fior teacht amach!!!!

  • @martychudej And I leave you with this....I hope you and everyone you know and care about dies a slow and painful death.

    Fuck Ireland

  • @ManlnCognito Resorting to primal curses of death and illness of ones family. Nice, I'm actually impressed from how stupid that comment you "left" was. You know, for a minute I thought of casting you off into a generalization of sorts. But you are truly on an entirely unique level of stupidity. Well as unique as the low percentage of people who suffer from down-syndrome anyway. Actually you could probably manage to make the retarded population of the world look bad. So stop.

  • @ManlnCognito Of course you dont respond to me with anything more than that. Thinking of a compelling sentence to back up your opinion is just far too complicated for you. But you did keep arguing with this other guy. Did I put a retard in his place?

  • @jackdoldseven Compelling sentences are wasted on you American vermin. I respond to you in the you deserve

  • @ManlnCognito You respond in incomplete sentences. I suppose thats Americas fault as well?

  • @ManlnCognito Oh, by the way... Illiteracy is not very insulting so maybe you should try typing a complete and creative thought that actually gives your seemingly idiotic opinion some ground to stand on. On your level of conversation I may as well respond by hitting you with a club as cavemen would do when confronted with issues between one another.

  • @jackdoldseven People who type “compelling” sentences full of “creative thought” are paedophiles

  • @ManlnCognito Im not sure what a "paedophile" is but I believe you are just justifying being stupid. Please, if you can even be close to staying relevant to the topic conversation, try.

  • @jackdoldseven Then you are not as clever as you think you, shit for brains...you really are dumb..lol

  • @ManlnCognito What I said sir?? Figure it out!! Have a nice day..asul dir!!!!

  • @I'm impressed you know your history... Well done!! :)

  • I used to live in Scarborough Maine, does that count?

  • No one knows where the song comes from, as is the same of most Folk Music: it's safe to say it is from the British Isles though?

  • @OJSlaughter93 most likely past down by generations prior to written text... same goes for chants, stories, other music... etc.

  • @OJSlaughter93 No, it's Celtic. They worshiped nature around that time, think about it.

  • could listen to this all day

  • beautiful

  • 0:21 Walhalla!!!

  • Before even listening. I hit the thumbs up, simply because of your post "SO I SUGGEST EVERYBODY JUST TO LISTEN IT: NO MATTER WHERE OR WHEN IT WAS WRITTEN. IF YOU LIKE IT, GOOD, OTHERWISE...CHANGE VIDEO AND DON'T BOTHER ME! -.-".....I really did enjoy this version of the song though, & would have hit the thumbs up anyway.

  • @richardmumolo ahahaah thanks :D (I really am a quiet person, but enough is enough, isn't it?)

  • @Stany89 Did you play this? I swear I thought it was Buckethead.

  • @richardmumolo A veraion I never heard before but, I LIKE it.

  • this is beauteous. i think i have to show my fiance this.

  • There is an event called Scarbourough Fair in a smaller city in Texas.

  • As a true 100% Irish celtic person, yes..this is the original version and you did a remarkable job with this.....Loved it....I also play the Irish whistle and you should hear me play with this background! Very haunting indeed! Thanks for posting...SHLAINTE!!!!!! (To your health)

  • @martychudej thank you so much man, I'm honoured :) I just followed my feelings :)

  • @Stany89 very nice

  • @martychudej So post it!

  • @martychudej How original can something be on a synthesiser!!

  • @BlogBitch if you created it from your own heart thoughts then it makes it yours, even if it's not a new song it's still a new arrangement. Someone sharing there feeling through music. THAT makes it original.

  • @martychudej maybe you could mix the two and let us hear it. :-D

  • 6 people, get a life

  • wonderful, music and pictures.....!

  • It's not traditionally Celtic. The name "Scarborough" is Germanic for God's sake.

  • @dimsimlord I hear that the name Scarboroug is derived from the dutch word Scharenburg.(i'm from holland :D) 'scharen' means scissors and 'burg' means bourg.. or something like that XD i don't really trust google translate... :P

  • @BeatlesLover20000

Yes, Dutch is a Germanic language.

  • I'm pretty sure that Jim Morrison wrote this song in the 16th Century...Dan O'Niallain

  • so this is how perfection sounds like....

  • Stany89 I think it's awesome and i love this song and I have a question:Can you send me the tab of the song and the guitar rig preset file or if it contains it the name of the preset ???

  • @bodor920810 thanks man :) unfortunately there is no tab for this version, I tabbed It by hear, so I didn't write it down, but I can say you the tone is Dm (I put capo on 5th fret). Regarding guitar rig set, for the first part I used a simple chorus, than in the second part I added a dub guitar with quad delay (I think the preset name was "crystal", or something like this). enjoy ;)

  • @Stany89 Thanks man :) without tabs it will be a bit harder to learn it but i'll try it because it's one of my favourite songs .

  • @Stany89

You can as well use Capo2 and play it in Am ;-) It's (my opinion) much easier ;-) Anyways, this sound very good, and I mean VERY good, no jokes, no kidding...

Btw. regarding the TABs...if you play it in Am, you don't need tab, just chords ;-) it's really simple...just drop me a mail, if you need (want) help ;-)

  • @Stany89

Stany, you used Capo5 and Dm, or Capo5 and Am? Cause this would sound completely different...no ofense, just asking, cause I cannot hear it....

  • @Ferroun I put capo on 5th fret and played Am (which is Dm without capo).

  • @Stany89

yup, understood ;-) I should have listen to it 2 more times and I would hear that ;-) Anyways, this sounds very good. Thx for that ;-)

  • @bodor920810 How can Scarborough Fair have an original "Celtic" Version? It's no more Celtic than the man in the moon. Im fed up hearing this original "Celtic" nonsense. There is no such thing as Celtic Music. It's juts ripped off from Classical German, English and Austrian music.

  • @thosewerehappydays Sir, I can attest to this very much as I am 100 % Celtic and I assure you this is not a fake...I taught Celtic music at Trinity College and this is the original version of it. Thank you for letting me share this with you.....SHLAINTE!

  • Gorgeous guitar work my man.

  • Thank you

  • OMG this is FANTASTIC

  • This song reminds me of Unicorns and Dragons, I really like this song, it's so beautiful! :D

  • WUNDERBAR!!

  • I've found the meaning of life

  • Truly incredible! Thank you for sharing this with us.

  • Love it!

  • maravilloso...

  • I am not a musician. I film bands-groups-solos making music, for a living. Most I cannot wait for the end to come however this was in a different class. I could sit and film this all day. Please record some more.

  • Where are these pictures FroM?! They are so fantastic!

  • Man, I'm crying right now. There are no words to describe this.

  • @ThorsShadow ME TOO!

  • well it is a charming song, well done Stany89! it is very nice/it is very good. please choose one to use. pick it is very nice or it is very good.

  • beautifully done, my only complaint is that there is some distortion at 2:40

  • Hello good song and very good collection of pics. Where are you found it please ?

  • stany89. I am so moved by your playing the guitar, you made this song perfect, you made this song move so all of heaven could hear. Thank you

  • @breelea100 thank you so much man. I really did not think it would be so appreciated, I'm honoured :)

  • This is Also a part of a book Named " Impossible " Read it , you will learn the meaning of such a breath taking song :) going to sleep know

  • I don't suppose there's a download link for this anywhere eh? Or possibly a tab? It's absolutely beautiful, and I'd love to listen to it all the time, and learn to play it.

  • @Raytok no I'm sorry xD I tabbed It by hear and never written it down. But if you listen carefully it 's not so difficult to play it, you only have to put capo on 5th fret :)

  • @Stany89 Well, I'm no guitar expert, I hardly even know what any chords are called, but I'm sure as shootin' gonna sit down and try to figure this sucker out, cause it's flat out gorgeous; pretty sure heaven plays music like this 24/7.

  • @Raytok thanks ^^ I quite like it too :) it's my favourite celtic song

  • surely they didn't have synthesizers in the day, I vote miss or mrs shirley collins!

  • Yea I can see you put in your soul for this song, the picture + the music. Makes the world so much brighter.

  • This absolutely amazing, you've got everything perfect, the feeling, the mood, the effect, the pictures. Perfect.

  • @TheIcream12 thanks ^^

  • @TheIcream12 ......minus the death---- the song is about the Great Pestilence----The Black Death--- 60% loss in population. The lyrics are far greater than the tune- the lyrics were felt by many---- the tune was felt by one.

  • im so using one of those pics for a screensaver, thanks for telling us how to, and awesome guitar playing.

  • my teacher form singing class told us to sing this but i was one of my favs we sang in that class

  • Can you tell me where you got all the pics? I would appreciate it greatly. The only one I've seen before is the one at 2:38. Thanks!

  • @tigergirlmichelle I just googled "fantasy" in images ;)

  • THIS IS SO GORGEOUS!!! And I love and appreciate the pics as well.

  • i love it!! however, i think that it would be perfect if you had found a singer for it! :)

  • that is some serious giutar playing genius :D realllly nice :P

  • @urbanpkrider31 wooow this is too much for me! :D thanks so much!! ^_^

  • wow this is amazing.

Decided to search after years of listening to Queensryche's cover of Simon and Garfunkul's version.

Is this really how the original sounded?

  • @BrianM1 yes, this is the original one. I tabbed it by ear from a celtic music cd ;)

  • @BrianM Not at all. You can hear even the 60s version that inspired Simon and even that sounds ancient. While this is a good cover, it's very new age.

  • The B-section is excellently arranged! Beautiful tone and balance.

  • @ToulBoi thanks buddy ^_^

  • Takes you to a new dimension. wonderfully executed.

  • @rgb555 thanks so much ^^
