I think you're right, because Smokin' Dave played Vic n Bills in Knoxville all of the time and I am pretty sure I was there the night REM palyed there in K-ville, and so were the Dopes.

Smokin Dave and the Premo Dopes were a great band from Knoxville TN--that's probably who Stipe introduces.
