Fact is because of a limited military budget, we can't or won't use the latest and greatest so almost everything we field has been tried and true, but we can not afford more. Each soldier gone is extremely difficult to replace on a limited budget so we ensure they can survive while being effective. How I can not say.
i would bet my money on the Canadian military to come out on top of any of the worlds armies. I do understand that a number of Canadian Forces units do the job of today with the equipment of the 50's and do an incredible job with it.
