does anyone else see a problem with this run? this guy started so late after he got the green.. the question is did the time start with the green or with the move?
the timing doesn't start until the user trips a beam about 6 inches from where he stages. The time between the green light and when the timer starts is what is covered in reaction time. So, even though his reaction time sucks, it doesnt affect the 1/4 mile ET.
When they move. You could sit there for hours if you want. That is why reaction time doesn't matter for a test like this. Only if you are racing the guy next to you or bracket racing would that matter.
Hey DinoMartini, the CTS-v does not, I repeat, DOES NOT have the LS9 in it IT's a LS3 cousin, wet sump, iron head, much more reliable engine, stronger engine then the LS9 in the ZR1..
lol, before you start harping on people about "auto or stick," you should get your facts straight. This car has the LSA which is based on the LS9, not LS3.
Regardless, this is a bad 1/4 time if it's modded much at all; it should be running 12.0 stock. But it is an auto and every 1/10 sec counts.
xmancovar, you cant tell that this is a automatic or a stick?? I feel for you.... It's obvious that it's a automatic because the brakes are being held at the line for starters and by the way the car sounds\looks going down the track....
Actually it has different connecting rods also wich is the most important part for durability . Also with the cadillac they made the engine more quiet with different materials. Gm said that without proper cooling tuning the Cts will decrease its durability since everything is so compact. There is a list of every single part that is different for both engines.
GM took the LS9 out of the ZR1 and put a slightly smaller supercharger on it, slightly lower compression ratio, and different heads. Then put it in the Cadillac. I think they did that because they didnt want their say 'flagship' engine in their non-flagship car.
Reaction time means nothing as far as the time. Thats an awesome time with no stall converter. Put a 3200 stall in that and it will do 11.30's no problem.
Holy crap, in the wet, or at least cool temps even. Thats rediculous. you could probably shave a few more tenths off that for a good run on a nice dry day.
I am less than a second behind this with My Astro van AWD soon to be quicker wen the Ls3 is done

@08turboSS The LS9 was also based off of the LS3 block, and the LSA is based off the LS9 with downgraded boost PSI and pulley etc.
