Definitely the Yale Bowl. You wouldn't see fans in overcoats and furs at the Rose Bowl! Not MIchigan either, that stadium is not bowl shaped - it's rectangular. I wonder if my grandfather, Dan Kelly, Yale Class of '23, might be playing in the video. He played QB.
There is absolutely no doubt, this is Yale Bowl. Today it is an old historical facility which looks basically the same now as it did in the early 1920's.
this is very interesting. thanks for putting this up. i love football more than anything and i would love to see more of these clips. old school football is a beautiful thing
It's the legendary Yale Bowl in New Haven, CT. The footage is doubtless of The Game (the Saturday preceding Thanksgiving) versus Harvard. The traditional raccoon coats evidence this. Sad that the mighty Elis (having won 15th National Championships) can no longer command capacity crowds. The Yale Bowl is the prototype for all bowls, particularly the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
It looks like the Yale bowl at times, but it seems to big! Those entrances out front though are definately the Yale bowl, I looked it up on image search.
Hmm. I know they went out west in 1955, and this is clearly the 20s or 30s, but we have no other footage of anything out west. Most of their footage is of NY/NJ/FL/Washington DC and New England so one visit to the Rose Bowl without any other scenes of that trip would be unusual. I think it is in some area closer to NYC, their home base. The Yale Bowl? I have no idea what other football stadiums would look like this one though.

The Yale Bowl holds close to 90,000 - for the warly part of the 1900's it was the biggest in the country. Go Eli's!!
