Interesting, that is not the way old chess boards are made, however, you are adept to production and that equals money. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.
Why is everyone such a safety pussy these days? You should work however YOU want to. If you think something is unsafe, you should put on your glasses or your hardhat or your ballcovers. or whatever makes you feel like the sheltered pussy that you are.
@netjem LOL I was and kind of am the same way but saftey glasses and hand protection are a must for me. You will change your thought a bit when like myself cut my finger down to the bone, and get a chunk of wood in your eye :(
@grancucharon a small shuttle used to push the small pieces of wood through the small shurrle should be about 7 to 8 inches long and have a lip to square up against the item your cutting.
omg man u rock i just go thalf way dun with my chess board today after watching thtis video i have a different outlook, and i have been doing it the first way with nothing but a hand saw, tape measure, and chop saw forget that way, thank you woodguy u saved me over 2 months of time.
ok guys your not spose to glue end grain -_- NEVER glue end grain... i will give you a tip. you cut out a base for it so they all site it in the bas and you glue them to the bottom if you glue end grain to gather it will just snap off. i do enjoy your video but you should show people how to do it right. it is very good but you should show how to build a base giving it a more detailed look. makes it look about 500X's better believe me
Man what a genius! Notice how high he runs his blade too, not an amateur that thinks they need to keep the blade "just over" the workpeice like 99% of people running table saws. That is infact dangerous.
That is so cool

@BoardWalk
I agree with you! Its simply outstanding and
an excellent investment for anyone starting
out. I would love to have had these when I
was building my first outdoor deck. It was
simply awesome. I think you should grab one
now.. Its available in the site:

@YoTeAmoSarah it looks like maple and walnut. However, any two hardwoods of contrasting colors would work.

Over here we always chop a square chessboard tree and slice it. We don't have glue.
