Both sides said their aircraft was better. The fact remains that the Luftwaffe did not win the Battle of Britain, the RAF did. It might have been different if Dowding was not as able as his was and if Goring did not believe his own propaganda regarding what his Luftwaffe was capable of. Both sides produced some outstanding pilots.
