@mikecantu52 Thank you! Could you please go to Joe Lopez community on Facebook! He is in need of donations for legal defense fund. Please let others know as well. We need to get the word out. He has given so much to all his fans and now he needs us. Please open our hearts. Thank you!
i remember watching my tias get all dressed up on the weekends beacause mazz and la mafia were in victoria...i couldn't wait to grow up and do the same thing!!! back in the mid 80's!
these is music that would always stay in ur heart. I would never the times i had with these music .I would never miss their dances and concerts. wish it could all be thhe same .
Robdue and Danz2l0..I agree..I have grand-kids that keep tuning my car radio to the kind of music they listen to now a days which I can't stand. I remember going to the Celito Lindo dance hall in Mathis, TX with my grand-mother and my cousins every Saturday night. Gosh, I sure hope Tejano Music never dies..It's up to the older generation to introduce it to the young folks..Let's keep it going..
VERY TRUE ROBDUE, IM TRYIING TO GET MY 4 YR OLD INTO INT ALREADY EVERY SUNDAY WHEN I BBQ I BLAST ON THE RADIO OUTSIDE AND LISTEN TO ALL THE CLASSICS FROM MAZZ,LA MAFIA,INTOCABLE,CULTURAS,DAVID LEE, LA SOMBRA,FAMA,MAN THE LIST GOES ON N ON. ITS NOT THE SAME LIKE IN THE EARLY 90'S AND LATE...I CAN HONESTLY SAY ITS STILL BUMPS IN SAN ANTONIO,TX
Tejano may not be dead, but it's getting there. The last time I went to visit CC I hit up the Tejano club there and I swear the youngest person there must have been 35. If the younger generation isn't listening to Tejano music like when I was 19-20, Tejano music will eventually dissolve. Personally I hope not, but Tejano music isn't what it used to be.
@robdue215 it will die if you let it, this music stays in your heart, grant it the mass public may not like our music but it is up to us to keep it alive. So what if the younger generation doesn't like it or listen to it, they'll come around. Alot of people think that when SELENA died Tejano died, last time I checked she died not my music.
Keep a positive attitude. If you give in to this crap from across the border then it will die
