Alternative translation / interpetation of Lords Prayer

Dear Tantrix, the translation into English is not really right, it should simply be the Lord's prayer in English, as well as the photos, some of them are not up to the prayer....so please if you could do something about it....thanks.

Thank you Tantrix, and thank you all for your comments, yes indeed it is close to Arabic and Hebrew, they are all called semetic languages, actually we did a lot of researches before I sang this prayer, to reach as much as we can the closest possible pronounciation of the galilean dialect of the Aramaic, spoken by the Lord.

I am told that the Aramic text of the Lord's Prayer is pretty much a straight foward translation that we have always used. For example, it should be "Our Father", not "Cosmic Birther". The Aramic and Arabic word for "Son" of God is the word that causes much controversy, I am told. Does anyone know how "Son" differs in the three languages, English, Aramic, and Arabic?

I think the problem is not with the translation, rather it's the subtitle that is wrong. I speak Arabic and from what I hear (avona is close to abouna and abouna means our father). I think the prayer is identical in any language, it's the subtitle that's throwing me off a bit.

The English subtitles seems to be reflecting the neoplatonist thinking of the 3rd century AD, where God is not a personal God but rather the One or Being. I think Jesus was saying that God was very personal and very close to us, that is the opposit of this subtitle version.

The first part is "Assyrian" Aramaic which is a bit different than the "Galilean" Aramaic of Jesus especially in the way of pronunciation of some letters.

i have done some searching about this translation and there are many who oppose the accurateness of this translation.

the translator, (Neil douglas Koltz) is identified with christian mysticism and his theology isnt really in line with the theology that protestant Christians have.

the assyrians have suffered a lot of persecution and massacres throughout history. It's a pride for humanity that they still exist today and they were able to maintain their langauge and culture for thousands of years. It's a shame most of them have left their homeland Iraq especially in recent years. Very few assyrians remain in Iraq today due to the killings and massacres they suffer on the hands of moslem insurgents. May God bless them and give them the power to return to their homes soon.

Most speakers use Classical Aramaic(Kthobonoyo), for literature and worship. This was the language that Jesus has spoken. This Lord prayer is in the Kthobonoyo (Classical Aramaic).

I don't know about Assyrian, but what I do is that the language of the historical Jesus was Aramaic of which SYRIAC was a dialect.

Syriac, spoken throughout the Levant once, is still the language of the Maronite liturgy.
