  • i have a classic 80gb ipod, i only have 1.5 free gb, can i do this upgrade with current ipod??? or i need the 5th gen ipod? nice vid thanks

  • i Just bought one from Ebay already modded £160.00 its like brand new out the box, highly recommended

  • HAPPY TO SAY THIS WORKS WITH THE 7TH GEN IPOD 160GB!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow. i got mine in the mail, installed it, and synced it to my computer, and i filled the fucker to the brim of music, movies, and photos. i have only 20 gigs left. i topped it off with 260 movies, about 20,500 songs and 2000 photos the songs are about 180kbps-500kbps. SO I DON'T GET A FUCK LOAD OF REPLIES SAYING, "LIAR", OR "YOU CANT HAVE THAT MANY SONGS ON IT" I LISTEN TO ABOUT 15% OF THE MUSIC ON THERE. all of it is Cd's and stuff off of my archive hdd and classical musical scores.

  • @cammiso94 do you have the link for this promotion?

  • How can i tell which generation ipod i have?

  • Damn, the 240 isn't on sale anymore and I just got a job.

  • If only they had this for the iPhone :D

  • 46,200 is 240GB on average. Wow, thats like more songs than what your country have made in the last 100 years, so you will probably end up with foreign African music with that much memory. :/

  • @TheRunscapeNoobShow Do you mean that 240gb is like 46000 songs? That is very wrong, because a full quality song takes about 50 - 120mb of space.

  • @Akilles047 no one is stupid enough to use raw file, they use Flac or AEC to compress it to something around 10-20MB. Plus you don't even have a good stereo, so why waste the extra space if your not going to hear it anyway. Plus its an Ipod, its purpose is to get music, and you will probably going to listen it to the earphone that comes with it.

  • @lyoth thats not true for me. i use it for parties, i never put that thing in my pocket. it only goes with my on large trips. its like a brick! the music i actually listen to is on my phone. and my sound system is good enough to hear a significant difference in raw files than FLAC or AEC, even OGG. the raw files sound better than all of them. (my system cost me about $1500. its not Bose...) o. and even with head phones. i can tell the difference because my ear buds cost me $150.

  • @Akilles047 fuck off is it. i have 1562 high quality songs, they take up 6.47GB. not 78GB.

  • @TheRunscapeNoobShow Then they are not full quality songs you retard xD

  • im fine with 8 thx

  • on a regular ipod video you can change the way the ipod looks(install a theme), would i still be able to do this if i upgraded the hard drive space? Or in other words, can you do anything you could do on the ipod before, after you upgrade?

  • Very helpful.

  • @onlyonebowman- how would you manage a petabyte into a shuffle? Thats crazy

  • @alch3mist785 they have petabyte memory chips, they just cost like a $1,000,000,000,000,000 per chip right now so no one buys em.

  • @galex- within my lacking knowledge, it would be annoying as hell to try to even take it apart w/o cracking the screen, btw, my friend cracked his screen, is it just totaled or can the screen be replaced?

  • Why don't they have such upgrades for iPod touch???

  • @Galex50

    ipod touch = integrated flash

    Classic = removable ZIF HDD

apart from ZIF HDDs you can also install Compact Flash cards and other ZIF 1.8" SSDs

  • @galex50 ipod touvh runs on a soldered memory chip. its not upgradable.

  • @galex50 well the classic still uses seperate hardware whereas the ipod touch has everything soldered together, of course it is possible to upgrade the touch, think what you have to go through !? you'll need to unsolder 60+ tiny pins connecting the memory to the mother board and then resolder 60+ pins again, whereas for the harddrive based classic, you only need to lift that hatch for the flex cable and replace. bob's your uncle!

  • It's actually really easy

  • yeah that was cheap...

  • @theapplefreakk No, the Touch uses flash memory. Some company (can't remember who) announced 64GB flash drives, so when Apple does the refresh they will have a 128GB version.

  • I heard there was a petabyte version for the shuffle

  • If this was for iPod Touch or even iPhone it would be awesome. Imagine having your whole Movie collection and whole Music collection plus tons of apps all on your iPod/iPhone

  • I agree with what you said, it seems we can never get enough space on the iPod touch/iPhone

  • Why do you need so much space lol? :D

  • Is it possible to do something like this to the iPod Touch?

  • thats what i was expecting too.

  • Nice Ollie bird in your background!

  • this is SORTA pointless...

  • You should get a new intro

  • don't worry wait 2 years and apple is coming out with a 1TB NANO!!!!

  • aint that a terabyte

  • Yeah but then you might get HD songs which might be a GB each!

  • Cool

  • amazing

  • does it work with the 2nd gen ipod also?

  • cool

  • thats more than my mac mini lol

  • wow 240gb :o that's quite a lot of music space lol

  • @PytoX It is not so much if you copy the sound directly from the cd's. The songs on a well ripped cd uses a total space of about 50 - 120mb if the song is about 4 minutes long. Unluckily, 99% of the music we download is ripped off the cd's and compressed, so we don't hear everything that actually is in the song.

  • Nice Video.

Always like seeing what the innards of Apple products look like

  • Very interesting...

  • 850mA battery is good, , i was thinking of installing a compact flash card instead of a hdd ,
