I did not refer to today, but throughout the years of the Maiden. For me Bruce has a best voice, along with Dio who also wonder.

 But the maiden has a history with Bruce and without it. Therefore, a band is not just a person.

@Demmettreus It's OK man, I know what you mean. Of course, every phase in Maiden's career should be valued in its own right, regardless of who sang on their records. But, at least this band indeed IS one person: Steve Harris. Without him, there simply would be no Iron Maiden. But I'm afraid if, for whatever reason, Bruce leaves again, then that's it. No more Maiden either.

If you guys go back to the early Iron Maiden years and ask a typical long-time IM fan anything about this band, they would tell you that "The Numbers of the Beast" to "Powerslaves" were the most memorable kick-ass IM years...and Bruce was with the band during those era!

For once and for all, the truth is that Blaze and his band are by far the best metal act at the moment, and their last LP "the man who wouldn't die" is fantastic, one of the best metal albums ever. We don't give a shit if Blaze was the right person for Maiden (I personally think he was), but he writes songs of the same level than the best Maiden songs, and he is one of the best Metal vocalists ever.Blaze rules, end of the story !!!

Maybe he has more control over his voice with his own material. But the faces he made in Maiden were out of STRUGGLING to get through those songs! He had a BAD time singing them...not the right range for MAIDEN at all.

Ditzan16...you cannot be serious--that is a scary thought. I am a MAIDEN fan, and no matter how hard I tried to like something about Blaze in MAIDEN, I could not. He was absolutely Godawful every single show I saw! The man makes milk go sour when he sings! Let's call a spade a spade my friend...Steve Harris made a HUGE mistake getting someone in with such a limited vocal range. The ONLY songs he could somewhat handle were 'Wrathchild' (apart from his awful scream), and 'Afraid To Shoot...'

Wrathchild (with such a great scream), Afraid 2 shoot strangers (Which i like better with Blaze than with Bruce).... and everything else, he could handle every single song, he sounded awesome on The Trooper and OMFG Hallowed be Thy Name! and I love The Evil That Men Do when he sings it (listen to the Futureal single). BLaze's voice is just great, absokuteky fantastic and his live performance, well it isn't as great as Bruce's but still pretty good, I like it a lot.

I admit to liking 'Sign Of The Cross', 'Futureal', & 'Clansman' the best. 'Lord Of the Flies' is Ok as is 'Man On The Edge'...but Blaze on his OWN is alot better. 'Silicon Messiah' is a decent album--but he was a BAD choice for MAIDEN.
