One of the nice things about YouTube that you touched on is that like-minded people self-select

and share their interests. Maybe they branch out to different modes of social interaction, but the core of it is still YouTube...

That's one thing that we noticed & what set us on the road to this calendar.

Photography, music & travel are things that tend to interest a lot of the people i mix with on YT.

And you're right, there is a kind of self selection that goes on. But, that happens IRL as well :)

Both my wife & I still enjoy taking photos most of which are "for the record" or snapshots. We have a handful of flower blossom shots taken in our garden over the past season. Perhaps they'll pop up on TwitPic! Thanks for asking!

I recently found an old channel that I had lost the password too. I joined youtube on Oct. 31, 2006 according to that one so this is my 4th Christmas here too.

"Fucking Awesome" is a great way to put it, you guys ROCK!

The other thing I wanted to touch on is that even though I'd taken the summer off of YT, thanks to our twitter connections and all the email threads back and forth, for me, the vloggerhood was always in the front of my mind! :)

Although yourself & others have taken time away form YT doesn't have to mean that you lose touch. Not in these days of Twitter etc.

Maybe, in a weird way, that actually stops some people coming back, because they still keep in contact in other ways? :)

You do realize my first video response to you was for your video called "The Making Of This Is Our Vloggerhood" -and back then, I didn't even know your name! I remember actually getting to know Curt, but wanted to reach out to the guy in the center icon of our video!

Amazing how the little pieces move back and forth and before you know it, you have projects like that one that we're not making public yet!

To me, this calendar is the physicality of these relationships and collaborative spirit!

I had to have a little giggle when i watched that original response video again last night. The fact that you had to keep looking up mine & Marc's names was great fun to watch. "Andy, what was his name again" LOL

This was a great idea and the calendar looks amazing. A big round of applause to everyone who thought it up and worked on it. I think the calendar does a good job summing up the idea of vloggerhood and it shows others there is more to online life than most people think.

I look forward to seeing the vloggerhood and what it stands for and what it can accomplish, continue to evolve and grow throughout the years.
