  • I love me some Sleeper Agent! ...I got to see them in NYC play with Walk the Moon!! It was incredible. If you're unfamiliar with Walk the Moon, look up the video for "anna Sun" ....you'll love it!!

    mtv.com/ontv/woodieawards/2012/breaking-woodie/

  • I like the description -(c) Mom & Pop Music

  • Nice Epiphone, Looks just like mine. Honeyburst plus top

  • When one of the band members were having sex, the girl was screaming, "Get it Daddy." It freaked him out so much, that he had to stop. So it's an inside joke between them, what it has to do with this song...no clue. Lol.

  • alex is gorgeous

  • if you haven't seen these folks live you need to rethink your life choices

  • ahhhh to many long comments from people who think they are better than everyone else!

  • @jacesaces15

And, just to pound the nails in on the argument: In the words of Rolling Stone Magazine, "Seeper Agent Make Hook-Filled, Hormone-Fueled Garage-Rock"

  • @jacesaces15

Indie rock is still rock, last time I checked. Hell, it's even in the name. Most indie rock out there is quite a bit softer and less into rocking out than Sleeper Agent is, which is why I prefer them by MILES over boring soft acts like Fleet Foxes.

  • @krashkow i guess in the end, its all rock, but when i hear the word rock i just dont picture sleeper agent; i guess it's just me.

  • @jacesaces15

Well, it's understanable, especially if you live somewhere where the local rock radio station only plays a certain brand of rock, which these days is usually either mainstream hardrock/metal or 90's alternative rock. This stems from the fact that most radio stations take their lead from major record labels who have kind of put rock on the back burner, if not turned their back on the genre. Rock radio has not caught up to the changing media environment.

  • @jacesaces15

Also, age may have something to do with your definition. Are you under 25? I bring this up because what someone who came up in the last ten years probably thinks of rock differently than someone like me (30) who came up in the 90's, the hey-day of alternative, which kind of gave us broad tastes when it comes to rock.

  • @krashkow that's also a good point. i'm 18, and i know for damn sure the 90's brought us some of the best rock; grunge and alternative like Nirvana, alice in chains, RHCP, Days of the New, etc. Rock is such a broad term.

  • @jacesaces15

One of the things about the 90's was that "alternative" came to be a big catch-all term for just about any flavor of rock that wasn't metal (metal went from being cool in the 80's to being kind of uncool in the 90's. There were still metal bands, and some were fairly popular, but metal was rarely played on mainstream radio after about 1992, and if it was, it was generally Metallica). (Continued next post)

  • @jacesaces15

(continued) Grunge blew up in 1991, and within a couple years it brought with it a pretty wide range of alternative rock to the charts. Then in the mid-90's, as grunge plateaued, radio and the record companies began putting forward even more sounds, so that by 1996-97, you had true variety of rock on the radio. In 1996, you could turn on a radio and hear an alt-rock song, a punk song, a techno song, a ska song, a britpop song & an 80's alternative song (The Cure) all in one hour.

  • Yes! Real rock music! Not that soft-ass "indie" crap.

  • @krashkow this definitely is indie.. sorry my friend, but this isn't rock n' roll; tool, mudvayne, soil, trapt, 12 stones, etc. = rock

  • @jacesaces15 i don't think anyone else would describe any of those bands as purely "rock." most of those are metal buddy.

  • @msyx9j5

Well, to his credit, metal is a sub-genre of rock. However, it is hardly the whole of it. Not by a long shot.

  • @msyx9j5 i guess it depends on the generation listening to it, metal 20 yrs ago sounds nothing like the metal of today.

  • @jacesaces15

Think harder. "Indie" is not a separate genre. It is a sub-genre of rock. Rock is a very broad genre that encompasses everything from punk to metal to "alternative" (itself a broad label) and, lately "indie" rock. All the bands you named are examples of rock, but they do not cover the whole spectrum, are even a very broad part of it. All are different shades of mainstream metal/hard rock. Sleeper Agent is a different brand of rock, but it's still rock.

  • @jacesaces15

Further: Sleeper Agent go so far as to sonically quote The Rolling Stones song "Rocks Off" in their song "Sugar Cane." Last I checked, the Stones are pretty damn rock n' roll.

  • i just saw them at the gas station by my house
