Someone please help me, My weed eater quickly overheats...and it gets very HOT to the touch like the metal casing for the engine but even more the spark plug gets hot..the entire spark plug even the white part i cannot even hold it its so hot i have tried adding more and more oil to the gas mix because i could only think that the engine was no lubricated enough and was causing friction or something but it just gets hot so fast please help!

@ubershot33 yea but what about your spark plug? my spark plug got so hot i got a huge blister on my thumb and the rubber spark plug cap started to feel soft like if i left it on for longer it would melt...when i take off the spark plug i see lots of grime and stuff in the engine where the piston is i think the friction causes that heat but how do i fix that? WD-40? lol

@Lukeschedel thats normal the heat because thats were the heat is concentrated anyway. the reason the plastic got soft is because of the extreme combustion heat witch comes from any engine and the grime inside is the soot or ash from the combustion. this 100% normal. the friction is normal to because engines work with friction especially 2 stroke when you mix oil with the mix. the oil can also make the grime. just make sure you mix the oil and gas right :P

@Lukeschedel lol have fun it wont explode just make sure you have the right mixure. and if your not sure about the mixture put in a bit of extra oil if you see its not very dark. i like my machines smoking just a bit of from the muffler then i know everything is well lubricated and running well
