Veganism is about imposing the least amount of suffering.
Although animal rights is a main concern for most ethical vegans, animal agriculture is a layered issue, and is a leading contributor to many global detriments. Including world hunger, environmental hazard, and health crisis.
Veganism is a lifestyle, not just plant-based nutrition. However, all can live well on plant-based nutrition - even if one needs to cook their veggies. Thus, animal farming is unnecessary.
Humans are highly intelligent. We reason and use logic to make choices. Nonhuman animals act on instinct. They do not imbalance the ecosystem - although we tend to blame them, it is our species at the root of imbalancing the ecosystem.
If you have actual questions, I could answer them for you. But I think simply researching this issue would allow you to find sources you find objective and unbiased, to determine for yourself if it is appropriate that we question our culture and implement change.
@thestreetsempty Dogs are opportunistic carnivores, which is often mistaken as omnivorous. Crappy pet food companies that sponsor veterinary continuing education credit seminars push this idea (as they too write the books on animal nutrition., controlling information). Can they survive as omnivores, sure, we can survive on McDonald's. Is it healthy? No.
You got veganism right though. Thanks for watching my video and taking time to comment, I appreciate it!
@dexamethasone Ah, I'm sorry. You meant the dog being omnivore is misinformation. I thought you were calling me a liar, lol. I actually consider humans opportunistic frugivores. I will have to research dogs being carnivores. I know they require taurine, but my dog is a healthy vegan (supplemented). Vegetarian, one day a week.
I agree pet food is bad. I don't feed that crap to my dog - Alpo class-action lawsuit - everyone should look that up!
@thestreetsempty No worries. I agree with you 100% re: humans as oppertunistic frugivores. I'm allergic (throat itches then swells up making it hard to breathe) to many vegetables but thrive on fruit. I've also been making my own dog food for a couple of years (if you look on my channel you'll see the video on how I make their food). Dogs do need taurine. Raw beef liver usually supplies them with enough.
@thestreetsempty Unless you're a cat, then you need higher levels. Rats and mice actually have the highest level of taurine of any other animal (which explains why cats need so much of it).
@thestreetsempty I speak from experience on the text books and seminars for veterinarians and vet. techs. Full of misinformation so companies can push their own products. Baby food companies try and do this too with pediatric medical field but it's not as extensive.
@dexamethasone What is misinformation? Livestock's Long Shadow is released by the U.N. (June, 2010). The meat and dairy industry is government subsidized. So, I'm not quite sure your objective now, other than engaging people and then denying all they say before researching.
Interesting channel name. Anyway, I think people should stop pushing their beliefs off on other people and let people make their own choices. If someone wants to eat meat, they should eat it. If they don't want to eat it, they should not eat it, plain and simple.
we dont eat jellyfish we would die. also when they say about no brain no heart it meant the animals that are murder feel the pain and they can infact feel scard. Also there are raw vegans who dont eat animal prodduct at all to explot the animals. most vegans dont buyt there cloths from chain store they either get then from vintage stores. or live in comunes where they make there own clothing i even know of a brand name that doesn;t ZU BOUTQE by davey havok
@TheLostSoulaod You can eat jellyfish, they usually have it at any good sushi restaurant. Most vintage stores are for profit and live on the exploit of others (unless it's GoodWill or the Hope Station). Natural Fibers such as cotton was built on the exploitation of others. Can't escape it, no sense in being vegan for piousness.
@dexamethasone there is tho i beilive it make me feel better and nothing realy is inesapebal with the way modren man lives. if you brake it down to the base. we like prgression and peole are always going to look for ways to condesend the vegan life style. some times its just the circal of life to. plus on a thought humans are by nature plant eaters we dont have to bodys to eat meat the way it is supose to be alot of ppl say we can eat both they r all just claims from diffrent ppl
According to vegetarians, eating away all of the plants and destroying our only source of oxygen, the world will somehow manage to be saved and global warming will end. It is actually quite ironic that the harvest of organic matter means the death of a fuckload of animals, since a field of grain is home to many mice and rabbits. Vegetarians are stupid, they are a bunch of hipster wannabe hippy tree hugging douchebags who support abortion and drive around destroying the environment in their suvs.
@murphyhurtme Come on please! 1 person can eat a day max 0.5kg of grains while all those cows and ect are consuming at least 5kg!!!!!! the environment is damaged cause of expanding meat industry...
@Elra21 great job ignoring what i actually said and adding in some unrelated and irrelevant statement. eating broccoli for dinner instead of chicken isn't going to save the world.
HUMANS : our intestinal tracts are too long, which allows for prolonged putrefaction of meat and a prolonged period to sit for the poisonous nitrogenous acids (urea & uric) that this rotting, slow-moving mass carries (kidney disease, atherosclerosis/arteriosclerosis, gout & arthritis plague modern Westerners who consume 3 servings of meat daily). Additionally: our stomach acid is too mild for the task of breaking down dense flesh.
@procommenter Then again, we lack a working appendix and are intestinal tract is too short to adequately break down cellulose, in addition to lower levels of pancreatic amylase. We mostly rely on salivary amylase to break down plant matter.
Our bodies are technically designed for the most part of properly digest cooked fish and poultry, while most westerners do eat 3 servings of meat a day, not all of it is red meat.
I'm also allergic to raw vegetables and have to cook them to denature the proteins so they can be safely eaten. Not every person is designed to eat meat, and not every person is capable of eating vegetables.
another ironic fact is that although many vegetarians will not eat meat, nearly all of them (even the guys) suck lots of COCKS on a daily basis. they don't want to damage their colons with meat but they don't mind shoving a bunch of DICKS up there.
As a person who eat almost only meat for health reasons, I applaud you for posting this video. I am subscribed to a vegan site (Kevin Gianni I think is his name) and it never stops to amaze me how he has to eliminate yet another grain (gluten and fiber is evil) or vegetable that they can't eat raw or causes stomach or mental problems. When one looks at plants as medicine and animals as nutrient rich food one will not abuse plants and allow them to give us oxygen instead.
...i...freakin...love....meat :P roasted beef, lamb, duck, or pork ...oooh im gettin a boner thinking about it.....mmmm....oh..oh my..... -_-' . ...um vegetables? (boner falls*) hmmn....maybe green beans n broccoli....mmmm....but meat just freakin rules :P aaaaaah....
Following the logical fallacy to it's conclusion: if you're not perfect than you have no justification in taking a moral stand on anything. Kind of blows the whole concept of religion out of the water, doesn't it? By the way, my dog eats a vegan diet and she's just fine, thank you very much.
What many of us forget is that whether it is vegetable or meat, it had to die for us to consume it. It is pure rationalization to say I would rather kill this or kill that....Once you realize that death helps you and your own (possibly selfish) motives to survive, it becomes less important what you choose to consume. A carrot is desireous of life, of sunshine and and of a rich mineral soil to exist in. I treasure ALL life yet I choose to eat all my kosher diet will allow me to.
I just loves vegetables....Right next to the roast beef, or lamb, or pork or my favourite, Venison which I shoot myself. You just gotta love that meat, after all if we did not eat meat the veggies could not have their milk, butter or chesse or any other product from a dairy cow. God bless meat eaters, saviours of the planet.
Oh contrare, the taste of vegetables is one of the finest points of proof that there's no merciful diety out there. Nice to meet you by the way, Mr. Maher -- love your HBO show!

Animal abuse is not an excuse for being vegan. Not a good one at least.
By extending moral significance to animals and omitting moral significance to plants is an inconsistent train of thought.
