  • im supposed to know too well about FMA since my forebears practiced true FMA and yours didn`t.

  • @spartanwarrior1 if you r pinoy, i feel sorry for you, coz u dont even know your own country history so well, thats all I can say

  • @MrSolitude14

look who`s talking. you re obviously blinded by nationalistic propaganda, get ur facts straight first.

  • @spartanwarrior1 join the `Kali vs Silat` footage here in youtbue, I hope you brought out your opinion there, so you can find out if im blind or not.

  • nice!1

  • very nicely done, keeping the second attacker isolated so he has to move around his buddy in order to attack you. if you want to survive a real fight on the street against multiple attackers, that's what needs to be done. if 2 or more guys can attack you at the same time, then i don't care what degree black belt you are, you're gonna lose that fight, no one has the speed or reflexes to deal with that.

  • @ArthusofAzeroth i would rather run and fight than stay and fight if I in a situation that 2 or more person attack me at the same time...

  • @ZEN824 yup that's what i meant by that, sorry i should have added keep moving to that statement. you want to keep moving at all times and keep one guy between you and his buddy, which is what Maul demonstrated here. as soon as you're not moving, you're pretty much a sitting duck.

  • @ArthusofAzeroth ok...

  • Yeah, probably better to come to one of his seminars and train and don't pull a knife on anybody. Just saying.

  • Holy hell...you would be mad to pull a knife on the instructor.

  • great to see some silat from BRUNEI!!!

see you in Italy in January.

  • Silat FTW, btw this is how silat looks like ancient time, it changed according to time and situations , thats why there are lots of silat in Malaysia and Indonesia

  • Very good,i like it.

  • Original Silat from Brunei not fma

    SSBD the best

    Great Guru Maul

    Selamat

    Carlo

  • Did this guy study FMA? Does anyone know? Thanks.

  • FMA instructors come to him and incorporate silat to their art. Everyone knows this. Most FMA that comes from the west has a major mixture of silat in their empty hands application.

  • really? which system?

  • @coldwatch FMA comes from silat man, U should read alot, kali as the root of FMA is actualy `silat`, it just tagalog word for it. you should know that kali is actually a type of weapon that have alot of similarty with `keris`. know this is the fact you can google-ing with this words: sulu sultanate <<this is one of the source of silat, because the sultanate is malayan kingdom. and oh yea, the famous word: `Gunting` that apears in almost all FMA is malayan word for scissor.

  • @MrSolitude14

hmmmm, FMA is made up of chinese kuntao, spanish fencing and malayan grappling, dude.

  • @spartanwarrior1 it is obvious that you dont know anything about FMA itself (and are u even know kuntao/kuntau/kuntaw really is?)

  • So many nations, so many fighting styles, this one is nice, looks more effective than kosher kravmaga

  • i'm definitely interested, but now im currently in sydney, australia. is there any practitioner near around?

  • this guy is a very skilled fighter. he has very good movement. i wish he had training in florida, usa.

  • Try it, thats a blade, try to disarm it and it will cut you deep.

  • what the hell you can even do it with a stick

  • Well in the video he is not using a stick, its suppose to be a machete.

  • i mean you can do it with a stick for real, it's a set up for a throw

  • hello guru maul,

can silat be used against prison/gang banger style attacks with shanks. where the enemy is looking to stab as much as possible in 5 seconds then run away?

    thank you, tj

  • Eliminating a skilled opponent in as short a time as possible is key to the accomplishment of kali. Surprise attacks are the most common form of violence with which one has to deal, especially in modern times. No martial art can call itself complete these days that does not in some way or another actively incorporate kali into its structure.

  • Thank you and God Bless Maul.

  • really wonderfull

  • Wonderful work Guru Maul. As always your teaching easily translates to actual usability. God has blessed you with great gifts.

  • Hey Maul, nice work, especially the two on one.

It's good to see someone staying to the outside, instead of running down the middle.

  • Hey maul. Great to see you finally got the breakthrough back home. Congrats!!!

  • Hello Prof Maul: as always I enjoy watching you work and seeing your "flow"...looking forward to seeing you again in the U.S. to be on the receiving end of your technique :)...your friend: John K.

  • Great techniques and concepts that was really awesome to watch.
