There is absolutly nothing wrong with an opinion commentator voting or making domations to a particular cause, party or politician. If it is in line with their politics, it is perfectly fine.
If a person is an actual reporter or anchor on a news program (doesn't apply to K.Olbermann), they can still donate of vote, as long as they do their job with integrety and not show their politics.
But most people confuse the commentators with the actually journalists and opinion shows with the news.

It highlights the deep contrast between Fox Republican News and MSNBC. At Fox the parent company not only solely donates to the Republican party they allow the employees and guest to solicit campaing donations on the air. At MSNBC you can't even make a private contribution.

Its a gimmick - Think Juan Williams. MSNBC is out to garner support for Kieth's (Bath Tub Boy's) show by fabricating a completely bogus story of him being suspended. They are doing this to trump up support for him ala the kind of support that Juan Williams saw after his firing from NPR. This is nothing more than a ratings scam during sweeps to drum up viewership for Kieth's hack show.
