  • Great video

  • wow, this was really helpful, perfect demonstration of effect and differences. Thank you!

  • This was very helpful. Thank you.

  • well... for the sponge you didnt really blend it out as much as the others.. and the paddle brush.. plus, glass is not porous nor is skin that incredibly smooth. so this was a good demonstration but inadequate realistically. some may work for one girl but not for another since we all have different skin.

  • This is by fair the best foundation video I've seen! Thanks so much!

  • Thanks! I'm gonna have to go buy me a stipling brush now. :)

  • Thanks, that was really helpful!

  • AWESOME video. What kind of stipple brush do you have?

  • @ThatKidWithTheFace It's a MAC Duo Fibre 187.

  • i have pores, so why would i compare to something without pores?

  • Each brush (and fingers/hands) is good for different foundations and different skin types... Can't really throw them all into one simple category.. No offense :(

  • very informative thanks

  • I want the last brush! The 187 mac brush I heard so many good things

  • I use a sponge, but I never use it like that. I use it like a stippling brush because it makes my skin look super flawless and airbrushed.

  • This made it easier for me to pick a foundation brush thanks:)

  • what was the blush brush one

  • What is that behind you? With all the awkward holes? Hahaha.

  • This is kind of lame, actually. The only way to test how each method works on skin is to actually do it on skin. Personally, I prefer my fingers followed with a damp sponge. If the sponge is damp, it won't soak up the foundation, and it covers my larger pores (where a brush totally missed). I also found brushes to be irritating on my skin. Just some high cost item certai cosmetic companies use to get you to spend more.

  • @realwoman50 If you use a stippling brush the way its meant to be use, meaning your "tapping" the skin with the bristles, it should cover everything really evenly. I personally don't care for traditional paddle foundation brushes because they don't cover my pores, but I've found a good moisturizer along with a thin layer of aloe as a skin primer makes my coverage smoother and my pores are hidden better. Finish with a great powder and you should be looking flawless in no tiime!!

  • very usefull although for a better result just strike every dot one time...like the first one. Offcourse there is more foundation on the brush if you strike more times over the foundation on a smooth surface. Besides that...a very good and smart vid! :D

  • I hardly need foundation just a very light coverage so I use my fingers and it's amazing

  • Awesome video. I LOVE using my eco tools blush brush fpr my foundation. I think stippling and blush brush do the same except for stippling doesn't provide as much coverage as a blush brush. Stippling is good for sheer coverage but not as sheer as fingers

  • very helpful thankyou :) x

  • Thank you soooo much, now I know what to buy xD Someone deserves another subscriber! :D

  • @TRACKtoU How do you know if she did or not? You weren't there.

  • this is helpful!! ty!

  • You sound like Deena from Jersey Shore! :)

  • @bornthisway07 omg, she does! haha! All i can hear is "I'm a blast in a glass!"

  • @MissMarci415 Yeah right?! :D

  • @MissMarci415 LOL I WASNT EVEN THINKING OF THAT GIRL FROM JERSEY SHORE BUT NOW U SAID THAT ITS SO TRUE.

  • wow i never seen a vid like this before great point! im gonna use my blush brush tomorrow! thank u so much i love ur channel so glad i found it

  • this really helped me :) thank you for helping me make my choice :)

  • i never thought to use my blush brush as a foundation brush! great video (:

  • This has helped me out with choosing a brush... Since i'm new to liquid foundation...

  • You didn't wet your sponge first, if you did foundation would not be soaked up!...TRACK

  • did u knowu have to wet your sponge?

  • I found you by accident today and I absolutely love that you don't drone on and on, your videos are short & to the point!

You have really practical examples of what you are sharing with us & I love your explanations.

Of course I have subscribed to your channel, I would be silly not to :)

    Donna xoxo

  • Thank You for the video--- very simple but clear!!! I believe that everybody has thier own style and time when it comes to apply makeup, on a hurry and rushy day fingers work just fine but if it's a night out with a date or girlfriends one can always take more time to really buff and blend foundation

  • I like to use a sponge, but it really is a serious waste! plus it takes me double the time because the coverage is pretty thin when you wet the sponge :( I bought a stippling brush recently and adore it :) x

  • well.. the skin texture is nothing like the table surface.. skin observes the liquid.. i think if you take your time clean fingers can do a very good job, while cleaning your brushes properly after every single time (which you should) can be challenging. by the way some foundations are difficult to work with any brush especially the organic ones.. try and see

  • where did you buy the stippling brush??

  • Amazing ! I'm gonna order a stippling brush TODAY ! Thank you !

  • you sound like emma from glee !

  • Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • while this was technically a good experiment, it's not useful realistically. How can a glass surface ever compare to real human skin? :\

  • @saphiric its not supposed to its just showing how each one covers

  • omg thank you very much this really helped!! I wanted to buy the petal foundation brush because is the one thats meant to apply foundation but why would I spend my money if I already have a blush brush and a flat top kabuki that I really enjoy!!! thanks a lot (:

  • This vid was very helpful! Thanks!

  • wow thanks for that! ;D

  • Extremely helpful!

  • this was verrryyyy helpful!! ive tried the sponge...dislike, fingers...dislike, i hate the paddle foundation brushes. now i am investing in a stippling brush. and hey what do you know, ive had a foundation brush all this time, im gonna try my POSH blush brush!! thanks so much! i subbed! ^_^

  • Wow thanks very helpful!!!

  • wow.that helped a lot!!!

  • an amazing vid ^-^ thanks

i subbed you a few hours ago and i've been watching all of ur vids and i've learnt so much!!!!!

    thank you xD

  • thanx:D

  • this is fantastic exactly what kinda video i was looking for. I have a blush brush i dont use , so ill use that for foundation (:

  • all i can say is wow when i first started with make up i used a sponge cuz thats what my sister did and then i say someone on youtube using a powder//blush brush and i used that for months but last weekend i bought a stippling brush and im LOVING it ,never going back

  • You sound like Emma / Jayma Mays from glee lol

  • I know loads about make up and I never even thought of trying a blush brush. It looked like a good coverage and very cost effective. Blush brushes are everywhere. Even when I was poor and had only 5 pieces of drug store to do everything.. I STILL owned a blush brush.

  • thank you so much~!!!! this is so good video! OMG

    I LOVE THIS

  • Thank you! :)

  • Comment removed

  • You are a great help , thankyou (:

  • why did it come out white when u used the stippling brush?

  • woooow that was usper helpfull ;) thnx girl for sahring your love and talet,..love love love ;)

  • I love how you break stuff down and explain, and make it seem so simple. That was a good demonstration.

  • Wow, I'm SO glad I watched this! I've been using sponges! =O Definitely switching to a brush now. Thanks so much for the tips! :D

  • I love doing my foundaton with my blush brush now, a really nice airbrush finish and so much quicker :)

  • never thought of it like this. Very good video

  • You're using the stippling brush wrong.

  • cool videoo :)

  • this was so helpful! your voice is so cute!!

  • this was soooo helpful!

  • Very helpful, thanks ! :)

  • thanks for the video :x it's helpful for me :x

  • This was very helpful! I usually use a paddle brush but I feel it leaves streaks on my face and looks uneven. I'm going to try the blush brush and the stippling brush.

  • thanks a lot, good idea yours, I didn´t know I could use my blush brush!!! lol

  • WOW!!!! Thank you, did'nt realize I was doing so much wrong with the sponge and my fingers. The thing is most of us have the stippling brush but never realized it could be used for foundation. Ive used it for bronzers this whole time. Tomorrow will be a new day lol...;)

  • wow. this is amazing and straight to the point!

  • That was so helpful thanks

  • when you use the foundation on a mirror its gonna give a different look then on skin so this doesnt show the actual look of how it would work so this is a false comparison.

  • Thank you that was great!

  • omg i had come around this video and i decided to try a brush to do my make up and i realized how much i love it then i never knew how to find this video and thank you so much and now that i found u i gotta subscribe before i loose u again ahhhhhhhhh love u

  • Thank You so much for this tutorial! I have been wearing mineral makeup for twenty years and wanted to try mac and was going to purchase the beauty blender sponges for application. You saved me some money! xo

  • unfortunately you can not a straight table or surface glaus compare facial skin with, but still good video! love greeting

  • @WomanXXXX Thats the point of the vid. Imagine how well the brush would glide on perfect smooth skin. All its sayin is that the blush and stippling brush are the best

  • @CaicedoDaBunny .. try the same thik on many diffrent skins...

    sry for my english greeds

  • the best change I ever made (makeup wise of course) was switching to a sponge, for me it gives a PERFECT airbrushed effect and covers up all of my acne scars and discoloration.

  • @fashionbug9880 i know you wrote this so long ago. but you know sponges are prone to keeping dirt in them and cause more acne just a helpful tip

  • @moresheila

Mind you. When you stipple you need to buff the shit out of your face or you will leave streaks and I'm sure you don't want people to laugh at you, and there's no right or wrong way in makeup it's just how we do it , hollerrrrrrrr!!! Cmon girl you have brains, use it

  • the application for the stippling brush shown on this video is WRONG!!!!

You stipple when you use a stippling brush and stippling is the action of short quick dabs to the face. The person in this video is buffing with the stippling brush.

  • Thank you! It really helps alot! :D

  • thank you for this!!! Very helpful for a newbie like myself heehee :)))

  • you're supposed to wet the sponge before u use the foundation so it doesn't absorb AS much product. But this video is pretty useful, I'm gonna go for a stippling brush lol.

  • Great experiment!!!!

  • Thank You !!!

  • Thank you so much! I just got the paddle brush yesterday, and it's double ended. The paddle brush for foundation, then at the other end is another small paddle brush for concealer. I haven't used a foundation brush yet because I "thought" the sponges were best so I was looking around for a tutorial for it...AND THERE YOU WERE! Now I can't wait to use it =))) I'm totally subscribing. You're the best <3

  • Thank you so much for doing this video. I have been searching for ages on youtube to find out what kinda foundation brush I should get, and your video went straight to the point + very informative. Btw, which one would you recommend out of Mac 187 and Mac 188 brush? xxx

  • you are hands down my favorite makeup guru. definitely.

  • love it ima get one now!

  • So helpful(:

  • Thank you! I'm new to the whole makeup stuff and this really helped!

  • Wow I never thought of using a blush brush to apply foundation, its looks great and this was so simple, creative, and easy to understand :)

  • im deffinately going to try using my blush brush for foundation :)

  • No offense, but I can tell you are biased as yes, the standard foundation brush doesn't soak up your makeup, but its very streaky which you failed to point out. Otherwise, good video.

  • you're so amazingg! i love your videoss! <3

  • This is the most efficient foundation application method lesson (lotsa words) I ever did see. ;D

  • This video was so helpful!

  • WOW I keep thinking about foindation brush for a long time, This vdo answer me everthing, Thank you so much

  • this is gonna sound creepy but i love your voice for some reason

  • @prettycannibalgirl Wow thanks girl! I love that you are trying your blush brush! How did you like it?

  • helped me a lot!!! thank you :) my question is, where can you get a cheap but good stippling brush?

  • @PinkPearlz33

elf has a stippling brush on their studio line, but i but my favorite for liquid foundation is their flot top powder brush on the studio line. They are both $3

  • @nuetralite82 Thank you so much! I Love you! xoxoxo

  • this actually helped me so much. I was always used to using my fingers (that didnt give me enough coverage) and now i have started using my blush brush, which works soo much better! this advice was very helpful!

  • @h000kah I am so happy that this video helped you! I love that you use the blush brush now! It was Love at first sight for me too! xoxoxo

  • i think the actrual application on the face will be much different than the ones show on that surface because the texture of human skin is waaaayyyy different than the surface. therefore the cosmetics product blends differently with the skins too. also taking into the account that the fingers can warm up the temperature of the foundation so makes it easier to blend.

but i do agree that the stipping brush is the best way to apply liquid foundation thou :)

  • @panjiang87 It isnt so much of what your skin will look like it is more of a coverage you will get from each brush! I agree with you Stippling is probably the best coverage but to me the most blended look comes from the fluffy blush brush! xoxoxo

  • I am becoming a total Elf brush fanatic. They practically give them away and other brushes (Urban Decay) etc 40 bucks for one little brush? Are you kidding me? U r so great btw! You help a lot of people

  • @zeze40video Wow! Thank you! It means alot to me that you feel that way!

  • wow ur super helpfull!!

My first baby lool so i dont know when i will find the time to try it lol

  • hey I thought the stippling brush was supose to be applied in stippling motions?

  • @VannersHEARTSMakeup on the mirror you cant appreciate the coverage if I use the stippling motion it comes out splashy not like the full coverage you normally get when you stipple foundation!

  • ugghhh i wish it was focused.. it gives me headace cause it so out of focus :(

  • @sydwoz I am sorry about the quality! I am always trying to improve my videos so hopefully you'll come back and check out another one of my videos! xoxoxo

  • I'd really like to try a blush brush for my foundation! I´d like to get a MAC one, which number do you like the best?

  • @MissDiorista 129 is the best one!

  • u applied the stippling brush and the flat foundation brush the wrong way.

  • @ochaiscream it wasn't a technique lesson just more of a foundation brush options vs fingers and sponges!

  • @Strawberrysurf Let me know how you like your Brush! xoxoxox

  • @TalkinMakeUp

Love my brush! It works wonder, just like your demo. Thing is, the bristle(hair) drops quite often while I was applying the foundation or powder. Is this normal?

  • This is the best video on foundation brusher ever!! Thanks a bunch!

  • @romina1986 You are so sweet! Thank you! xoxoxox

  • wow i have the last one but i never really use it

  • You actually are incredibly pretty, thank you for your tutorial. it is pathetic i'm located within D'Iberville due to the fact i aren't able to get great cosmetics, but i get hold of no charge cosmetics samples through 'Gratis Makeup Samples'. i adore Garnier make-up!

  • Whaaat, I have a big fluffy brush like the third one, but I never thought I could use it for liquid foundation - I thought it was too soft of a brush to do that.

  • Whaaat, I have a big fluffy brush like the third one, but I never thought I could use it for liquid foundation - I thought it was too soft of a brush to do that.

  • Can you use a face/powder brush for liquid foundation???

  • i think you are one of the best makeup gurus ever i really was informed about what brush to apply my makeup xxx

  • @XxBrownyxX8 Thank you so much! You have no idea how much that means to me! xoxoxox

  • when you use a stippling brush to apply foundation, should you stipple first or blend it?
