Also just something to add to your arsenal my Muay Thai instructor works 2 similar techniques for our round kicks. First is to just drive up from the ground through the target like you are doing here. Second, which can be more powerful when you get it down is to lift the leg first then twist at the hip. It is a slightly longer kick but at the point of delivery all the force is going directly across your target into the kick instead of some energy being used to lift the leg still.
All in all pretty good. Rear roundhouse looks pretty good form wise, looks like your not getting the hips turned over all the way for the front roundhouse in this vid. Best trick to get in that habbit I know of is to pick a spot on the wall behind you and turn hard enough at the waist you can pick up that target when you finish the kick. Obviously will want to not do that when another person is added to the mix but it works very well for developing the mechanics in heavy bag work.
Good job man. I train similar like you, u have strong kicks like punches, u should do better on your technique to get even better. Little tip, train more high kicks ( for ex. try to kick below the chains ), and punch with your elbow. U have the weight and your punches are very good, keep up the good work!
Likewise, I'm down to spar! You have heart, it looks like you're training in a jail cell! I have a similar setup. The toe thing's true for a lot of us, but I'm not giving any advice. You kick real hard (left foot, OW!) and punch hard, too. Technique or not, you look like a strong, aggressive fighter.
I don't even see your feet, and I can tell you don't elevate on your toes. You kicks look hard, but it's because of your size, not your technique. Get the technique right and you'll be even stronger (and you'll get less tired).
Those kicks (especially left leg) look really hard. A lot better than most of the stuff we see on youtube imo, better than me at least. If anything, maybe put some more effort into the teep (if that's what you are doing). Keep it up
And hazurda, that is a pretty free moving bag (long chain, etc.). I got a 55 kg bag and barely move it the way he does with one kick (and I kick rather hard)
He seems to be kicking the bag with his foot, a comon problem among people learning muay thai, that fear of pain in the lower leg, something you gotta get passed
Just an advice you take it or not, i think your punchingbag is a lil too low so your hitting a bit low, when you throw your aiming at the chest so it could be a good idea to put it higher.. nice power tho both kicks and punches keep getting better PEACE!
nice, your right owns, my natural foot is left, but my natural hand is right, its really annoying, i dont get the foot power on my punches, but i have a powerful lead foot. good luck with your fightign.
u kick like mirko crocop. good work lol

Not bad at all. Next time, finish with a jumping split kick into both bags. Also, open a window in there, it looks dank.

Okay, I'll do a jumping split kick AND I will do a slow motion Van Damme scream at the same time. :-)

hey, your coming around nice buddy, keep up the work.
just some thoughts,
-maybe work a double jab in their
-keep guard up when throwing the left front kick
-careful with throwing a right hook twice, a person may counter with a strong left.
other then that you look awesome keep it up:)

also.. too bad the wall kinda block you from round kicks :S
Jo14121412 4 years ago
You're right. I did hit too low and the bag is a bit too low also. I should perhaps lift it and mark it somehow where the head is.
Thanks for your advice, Jo14121412!
