  • Hi sir, I kinda slapped my laptop unknowingly above where the main hdd is located =/

It worked for a few sec. then just froze, couldnt use ctrl, alt , del either. So i shut it off, the rebooted and got a 0xc00000e9 status and it doesnt boot to the home screen anymore T_T Did I mess up the actuator on it ? If you were in my position what would you do ? Thx !

  • is that you singing? pretty good man. thanks for the video and the song. haha.

by the way, my laptop was acting very slow, and i got frustrated one day slammed my fist right where the hard drive is located. next time i booted up, i got a blue screen and unmountable boot volume. do you know if this can be remedied?

  • Is there any way to tell if a drive has a failed circuit board or is something more severe? I had a drive that was reading data really really slowly, sometimes it would hang and cease to even be seen by the system until I restarted. Now it's doing the dreaded click of death and ceases to work at all. I have my doubts that its the circuit board but I suppose its worth a try if I can find the same drive.

  • Take the blue pill, this video ends, and you will wake up in your bed and believe your hard drive never crashed. Take the red pill, and you will see just how deep this hard drive goes.

  • thx for the info =)

  • dont yu have to be in a dust free enviorment is so then how to make a dust free enviorment

  • @killerZO3 only need dust free area if you are opening up the hard drive, wont need to be dust free to remove the curcuit board though.. thanks for contacting me :)

  • Jasonzelda, you will make a good actor. Give it a try if you have'nt done so..

  • nice hat

  • well apparently my laptop crashed and when i start it up it goes to this menu with stuff like start windows normally and safe mode

whenever i click on start windows normally it shows the loading screen and then it just show a blue screen not blue screen of death just a blue screen that starts with "a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent any damage to your computer...."then it restarts itself

  • @mikeh961 yeah... that's a blue screen of death -_-

  • is this available for notebook hdd too?

  • @cpmxxx it may be worth a try.. I have not tried this with a notebook hard drive though.

  • this is the coolest black guy I've ever seen

  • @seed419 he's black???? omg!!!!!! thanks for pointing out his color to us...way to go! keep using that expired race card lol

  • God bless America

  • Mine spins ut wont load the data, the system reads it in my computer but when I click on the drive it freezes everything then ask me if i wan to reformat, HELP!!!

  • @fhdjsahfdjsha sadly, format may be in order, it is always very important to backup all the data on your hard drives, just in case things like this happens, i wish you the best my friend.

  • need more pimps makin videos like this instead lil nerds

  • Thank you for the valuable info. I will try to buy your CD in exchange for the info you shared. Thank you man,and very good luck to you.

  • Jason thank you

  • @soulvegas your welcome, I hope I have been of service :)

  • thx for the video. would you happen to know how I can fix a clicking hard drive that is not being read on my laptop without getting a new cir board (inspirion 1440)

  • @MoniqueNJ I am sorry my friend, I do not sadly.

  • ZELDA RULES!!

  • You seem to be a bit of a hardware junkie :P! I saw that you have 5.25" a Quantum Bigfoot, correct? I'm getting one of the REALLY old MFM/RLL Seagates (20 MB) for Christmas as a novelty item- should be fun trying to install DOS onto one of those damn things.

  • hey my HD is still working. However when I try to place large files little more then a gig or a couple hundred MG bits on to it does it extremely slow or not at all. I am using paretologic Data Repair to recover old files. I am also looking for a resolution via the net. what can I do?

  • @Moorminded i would reccommend that you backup all your data to another hard drive or online backup service like Carbonite, then format and repartition your drive, making your partitions larger, then reinstall the Data that was moved back to your hard drive and see if it works faster for you . I hope I have been of service to you my friend.

  • I watched this video so I could repair a dead seagate drive from a LACIE. So much for the "best of the business" JamesIreland.

Jason thanks for the info not only i will buy your music but I'll listen to it. Even If I have to bind myself to a chair.

  • @valzero94 your welcome, I hope many others would take a listen to my music and videos, I think they will be moved by it.

  • @jasonzelda I like your singing .honestly i didn't expect you to have that kind of voice i was thinking it would be deep lol .but you sound great.

  • @dedrawilliams thanks, I really appreciate that :)

  • @valzero94 you make it seem like his music is torture to listen to?

  • Holy shit! he doesn't look like the type of person who would know this type of stuff! o.o

  • Would this work for a SAMSUNG HM500JI SATA Disk Device?

  • @jeffh3962 it wont work for all cases, but it is worth a try, and if it doesnt work, you can always reverse the process and put the new drive back on ebay and make your money back. let me know if it works ok, I hope I have been of service.

  • @jasonzelda wil this work on a dell desktop i have soorry if im not specific at all but surely almost any dell hard drive is almost the same

  • @KungPowCheekin it is worth a try my friend, this technique doesnt work for every problem, but It will work for some. I hope i have been of service.

  • Lol. Bear with me. Because it's a teddy bear. Get it? XD

  • My la cie external harddrive is suddenly not spinning at all. Is this a possible fix?

  • @Bauzi514 external hard drives are usually just a regular hard drive with a shell around it, this technique may work. I hope I have been of service :)

  • My computer is complaining about that song. What should I do?

  • what if my hard drive is really slow... I mean x20 times slower.

it happened yesterday and its only my D: drive

  • @Froastwolf try defragmenting your "D" drive, also check for viruses which too can slow down your drive, a program called "registry mechanic" should be able to find errors in your registry that could be slowing your comp down also, if all fails, backup the data from your "D" drive to another drive or online backup service, and format your "D" drive, then reinstall the data and see if that works for you..I hope I have helped..

  • make sure you get the EXACT board, drive model AND firmware. THOSE ARE VERY IMPORTANT... firmware is the most important of all. if u mismatch it then you may chance corrupting your data or cause a head crash. usually ebay has donor drives if you have a WDC drive u have to match the DCM# or you will be unsuccessful. I have only done 2 board swaps and have been successful. sometimes the board isnt at fault and its head /media damage that cant be fixed with a board swap.

  • is like your hardriwe cannot read discks ??

  • @c0rrupts3ct0r555 i got a wd 1tb drive that just doesnt want to work, no noises of clicking, actually the drive spins up well. Its a pretty new drive, i am not sure how to go about fixing it

  • @DorkyD4v1d greetings my friend, does the drive letters show? was it once working then stopped, or did it not work from the start, if there is no noises or clicking but the drive spins you may have to set your JUMPERS so your computer can see the drive, also you may want to partition the drive to make it easier on the computer since TB Drives have so much space. let me know if I have been of service to you.

  • @jasonzelda The computer can see the drive, but when i try to move any data, or go into/browse the drive it locks up. Its a WD that came from a portable hard drive. I took it out of the enclosure and now it doesnt work. I tried the "unlock" feature but that wouldnt work. Even if i try to nuke the drive, i just cant access it. Im not sure if there is something mechanically wrong with it or not. Its not a big deal, i have other drives, i just dont want to throw a 1tb drive away you know?

  • Hi. I found the video well spelt out. Another video here mentioned the same process, but yours was more detailed, and not boring to watch!

  • When this guy appeared at start of video i thought this was gonna be some sort of joke video lol whats with the hat haha

  • haha! your funny when you tossed the bear.

  • When i boot my computer, it says "Disc Read Error". Will this technique solve the problem?

  • @mazi06 no, that means your disc is bad. but its worth a shot

  • Hey Jason, that is a great idea! I have two malfunctioned hard drives and I am going to give this repair a try. thank you.

  • ROFL just chucks the bear away...

  • Hey Jason. Great video. Would this work if you know that the computer crashed because of a virus? Someone was using my laptop and downloaded a rogue "antivirus" software that made my computer crash. I cant even get on to windows.

  • @JEETkuneDOstudent this would not work for viruses, the virus would have been written to the disc of the hard drive not the curcuit board, i would suggest you swap the location of your drive and make another hard drive which has anti-virus software in it as your main drive and use it to start your computer, once your comp is on, run an anti-virus scan from the new drive to the drive that has the virus, I hope it works for you my friend, sorry took me so long to reply.

  • Hey Jason! thanks for the info! It was very helpful. My hardrive is coincidently a maxtor 3.5 too! I would urge anyone watcing this to avoid Maxtor though and it's parent company seagate! Their hard drives are notoriously unreliable! My Maxtor lasted 4 months then just stopped working for no reason! I would recommend LACIE they are the best in the business!

  • Ahh, bad news I'm afraid. I knocked my LACIE external drive off a table and now it doesn't work (surprise surprise). When I opened it up, what was the drive inside? A Seagate

  • i cant even unscrew my hd, i tried every bit piece in my toolbox

  • @DuMa10000 i believe a small allen wrench is what is used for most hard drive screws
