  • @wengstechtoys I have bought a 32gb white 4s now and it had the yellow ting screen, but like real bad and then i rang my provider and they replaced it for a brand new one, which had the exact same issue and a similar serial number, i have managed to order another replacement but im worried it will be the same :/ what can i do ??? thanks

  • @danimalikk Yeah, you will be surprised how differently each iphone is made. Its all luck really. Lucky for me Apple offered me 2 iphones on the spot to unbox and choose.

Maybe consider waiting a bit and then try again for another replacement?

  • @WengsTechToys Yeah but i didnt get mine from apple instead from a carrier and both came brand new sealed in retail boxes you see so defo same batch, im expecting a new one tmro which will also be brand new boxed so i hope its not the same man otherwise i have to do it all again and its alot of hassle cause clearly the fone is messed

  • @danimalikk To be Honest I think the screen quality of the iphone 4s are a lot lower than that of the iphone4. I've seen many iphone 4 and the screen aint that bad. However, iphone4S seems to be a lot harder getting a nice screen. Even the one I use currently the screen isnt as top notch as my old iphone 4.

Yea its a heap of hassle to go through so see how you go and maybe wait a period before getting it swapped. At least ur carrier is willing to exchange the iphone for you. I had arguments...

  • what?

make sure you get the right phone when you purchase it?

    the box is sealed.

we all don't have X-RAY vision like yourself

    #fail

  • @oxycodonez I dont know how your Apple Store operates but ALL Apple stores I have ever visited have a 14 day return policy. Regardless if the Apple product has been OPENED or used, they will give back your money if you are unsatisfied with the product. No questions asked. Thus you make sure you are happy with the phone you get or you return it within the 14 days. You do not need x-ray vision. For you however you need to be less fail and stop flaming on youtube. Too many like you already.

  • I have an appointment on thursday. hopefully they can exchange it. Ive heard many people saying it goes away in days but ive had mine since November and nothing has changed. I noticed @sdes2 commment about the serial and my serial does start with a C39. wish me luck

  • @Woscoe1503 Good Luck bro, with enough persistance and push you should be able to get a new replacement. iPhones aren't all made equal, i know that for sure!

And remember its going to be hard to pick a nice one without a full white background so try your best to judge. You want cool blue which may look less brighter compared with the yellow counterpart as described in this video. All the best!

  • I went through 6 exchanges of my original 4s, and still couldn't get one that didn't have a yellow screen. Eventually gave up and reverted to 3GS. Notably all the Apple store's phones are C37 serial numbers, most of the yellow ones are C39 and DN serials - the Apple store Regarnt St London and Covent Garden London do't have anything but those serials. So, if you like yellow, go there.

  • @sdes2 Oh that's disappointing to hear. Don't worry too much as you can try to swap it out later down the track and really put the Apple warranty to good use. By then hopefully you will get different batches to pick from.

  • I'd be worried about the battery instead of the color temperature. It doesn't seem like a real issue to me.

  • @JonasHSM I personally don't have the battery issue so unable to comment. Sure the battery life is no where as bad as my previous iPhone 4 but seems like the issue is already out there with Apple releasing 'updates' to 'resolve' this. Apple don't find little things like this relevant as it costs them money to resolve. I stand strong with being annoyed with the colour temperature especially when I take and edit photos professionally.

  • @WengsTechToys edit photos professionally? I didnt know it also affected the color of the images. Then it might be an issue, but with some basic photoshop editing you can always adjust the colour balance of the pictures.

  • @JonasHSM Hmm how do I put it? Like looking at images with yellow tinted glasses. Obviously you wouldnt make the images cooler for your client just because my iPhone displays the images with a warm yellow tint over them. I would get an iPhone that I payed for to display the images as closest to its original intended colour as possible.

  • @WengsTechToys Yes, I understand what you mean. I also edit photos and all that, so I understand what you're saying. But as a professional photographer I'd rather show my pictures on a laptop instead of an iPhone, you know, bigger screen, more detailed. Still, I understand you.

  • @JonasHSM True, any form of advertisement or word of mouth is good. This is where Google Nexus comes in which will supersede my ever problematic iPhone. At 4.65" Super AMOLED, its going to be Awesome.

  • @WengsTechToys yes, too bad I really don't like android.

  • Great video! Thank you

  • @utubie24 Thank you for dropping by and watching.

  • @jsrhuang: I see your point. Such an expensive device and you just can't be certain that what you get is what you've seen.

  • If you jailbreak ur iPhone 4S then you can download an app from Cydia called "colour profiles" and that helps you to adjust the colour temperature of your phone. Do an inside job.

  • @kab1r Yeah, a 4S jailbreak would be nice.

  • @kab1r Yeah, thanks, but is that a permanent solution though? What if I un jailbreak my iPhone later, will it still work? Plus we will need to pay extra 1.99 for the Cydia App.Come on Apple,It's a bit ridiculous that as a customer we will have to go through all this extra steps to get an iPhone with a correct screen temperature. Not to mention about the travelling expense which will cost us going back and forth to have your iPhone replaced. I seriously consider going to avoid buying any iDevices.

  • An iPhone is just an iPhone

  • @iPodthe3 Yeah, I tell many people that too. Many have an open mind, many don't.

  • Hi, great video! :) I would like to ask though what happens if you are in another country than the one you bought the iPhone from, and your country does not have an original apple store, only retailers? The iPhone is bought straight from the apple online store in England :/

  • @katyapao13 You will need to ask Apple on this one and confirm. Good news is that I'm pretty sure it has international warranty. Apple usually just checks the serial numbers to confirm warranty period without the need for proof of purchase but all your details are linked with the items serial number. Just be careful of Apple resellers in case they are dodgy.

  • I have a black iPhone 4 of the 1st production, and the screen has this blue tone you mentioned to be the "good" one.

Now a lot of my friends have a newer iPhone 4 model, most of them the white one, and they have this yellowish screen, and in direct comparison I must say that I like this one better. So I'm thinking about selling mine and getting a new one.

It is not a "bad display", but they apparently decided to change the color temperature from 7000-9500k to 6000-6500k as it shows warmer, vibr

  • @gylerthangyle Yup, just wanted to outline that every single iPhone that Apple produces will vary in color temperature. Having a good observation and choosing which you looks good to you is important.
