  • The greatest Innings Ever....

  • Im an indian aussie, i saw this live. was a fricking amazing innings. exhilirating, 195 in 230 against a hostile pace attack. Got respect from everyone in crowd

  • @rohitrez Lee, Bracken, Williams is one of the worst Australian pace attacks ever.

  • @spookavision wow, lee, 300 wickets at 31, 3rd highest aussie pace wicket taker..how shit.

obviously you didn't watch the series. Same could be said about siddle and hilfenhaus now, but fact is they'be bowled hostile, quick and accurate.

Up until the sydney test, bracken lee and especially wiliams were pretty quick and accurate. But i'm sure if they were so 'shit', you could've made twice what sehwag did..

    Good try tho

  • @rohitrez I was also there, as I've been at every Boxing Day test for 30 years. It was a great innings and Sehwag is an amazing player but that was an ordinary attack.

Bar one season, Lee struggled whenever he didn't have McGrath and Gillespie to set things up for him. The best bowlers average under 30, especially if they're playing with three champions for most of their career.

  • @rohitrez MacGill and Kapil Dev averaged 29, which last I looked is under 30. Siddle's is 30 and dropping (already better than Lee's), same for Anderson and Morkel. Zaheer and Srinath played most of their cricket on subcontinental roads that are fast bowling graveyards so can be excused. Regardless, Srinath, Morkel and Siddle don't rank with 'the best', Anderson does now but hasn't for most of his career, and Broad can't even see 'the best' from his place.

  • @spookavision ok so according to your criteria, macgill is 'the best' then, and pretty sure he played this match. Point is that to call Lee, a man who has 310 wickets at 30 'one of the worst' is ridiculous. Sure, he may not be in the Mcgrath echelon, but still a fine Test bowler. Also given Aus record at the MCG, and the fact that the ball does (and did on this occasion) a bit on the first day, was a fantastic achievement.

  • @rohitrez I said "one of the worst PACE attacks", which rules out MacGill, who took 3 wickets in 15 overs. The pacemen took 4 in 75. Bracken's 1 wicket was Patel and Williams' was Kumble.

Also, "attack" means more than just 1 bowler. Lee was a fine test bowler sometimes, plenty of others he was rubbish. I'm not denigrating what I already agreed was a great innings, merely the attack it was played against.

+the pitch was a road: Australia 558. And it was 195 of 311, not 230. But a great knock.

  • @rohitrez

Williams was quick but you need more than that at test level. He and Bracken both took a wicket every 16 overs in test cricket. That's woeful. Siddle and Hilfenhaus each have several times as many test wickets as Williams and Bracken combined - because they're much better bowlers.

I didn't use the word 'shit' though. But yeah, I would have made 390. Why only yesterday I made 650 not out against Marshall, Holding, Ambrose and Larwood. (Where's the rolly-eyes thingy?)

  • that was just awesome and inspiring.Sehwag is really one man army

  • The greatness of a great person is he makes even the opposition admire at him.

Sehwag always takes the attack into the enemies camp he is like a one man army.

He makes the opposition players stand up and admire at him for his stroke play, rather internally of course. He has only one thing in his mind dominate and decimate any bowling attack which he succeeds almost always.

I wish I see another batsman like Sehwag before my life is finished but, I doubt that may not happen.

  • That was an absolutely awesome innings. And Simon Katich, strike bowler. Fantastic cricket out here that summer.

  • I'm Australian and I absolutely love this guy, fantastic to watch, great cricketer.

  • A flat track bully that's what he is, gets 200s in Sri lanka India and and this was a flat MCG track against a Ausi attack without McGrath Warne, Jason Gillespie we saw how good he is in Edgbaston the other day flopped in SA also, the most overrated batsman ever, possibly a good example of the lack of quality in the modern test match game

  • i think if sehwag had consistancy his avrage wud be well over 60.... at the moment despite always performing poorly in the2nd innings and the lack of consistancy he averages 53.... he for me is the best batsman in test....

  • @bakul93 You could say that about every batsman that ever lived...

  • Sadly, he threw away a double ton.

  • krikbestplayer34 you seem retarded just the watch the fucking video stop bringing religion and shit into this all he said was he likes sehwag you would be stupid not to like this innings

  • haha! what an idiot.. a pakistani who loves sehwag and an indian who hates a sehwag loving paki!

from a neutral point of view, you gotta love the comedy

  • you know its a long time ago when thye refer to viru as 'young man'. haha.

  • he could be as good as lara and tendulkar if he actually had footwork/ technique.

  • fuck off u bastard. you are a homo u asshole.. just fuck your own ass thats the best punishment foru so that u can never smile again u asshole...

  • @robinhood4080 @myfuntp u motherfucker ....i wil kil u if find uuu ...u bastard ..............u ass hole...slutt..

  • @robinhood4080 @myfuntp u motherfucker ....i wil kil u if find uuu ...u bastard ..............u ass hole...slutt..

  • fuck off u bastard. you are a homo u asshole.. just fuck your own ass thats the best punishment foru so that u can never smile again u asshole...

  • sehwag, imperious

  • only sehwag has the balls to hit that shot when he is at 195..If it was Tendulkar he would have taken another 50 deliveries so that he reaches 200

  • What a legend.. Best innings he played wa his 300 Vs south Africa.. Off only 280 odd balls.. Hit 240+ in a day I think..

  • yeah brett lee's hair.

  • The man that he is. This innings will be remembered by cricket fans for his audacious disrespect to the bowling side. I dont think he would have attained this immortality atleast in the minds of the spectators, if he would have got his 200 !!! He is the man

  • The man that he is. This innings will be remembered by cricket fans for his audacious disrespect to the bowling side. I dont think he would have attained this immortality atleast in the minds of the spectators, if he would have got his 200 !!! He is the man

  • i was watching his feet movement but somehow i just got dragged into watching his shots. what an class act

  • if he carries on the way he's going, he's in my top world 11 ever, out goes gavaskar

  • Tendulkar and Lara are highly strategic batsmen, they can't be compared with Sehwag.

Sehwag doesn't give a shit about the bowler or what is being thrown at him. His style is to obliterate and put the fear into bowlers, he's a captain's dream and if you don't finish him off early, he proves to be a NIGHTMARE maintaining 80-100 strike rate. Any cricket team in the world would DIE to have someone who has Sehwag's mentality and style.

His playstyle can't be comapared with Tendulkar/Lara.

  • sehwag ended that fat fucker brad williams career after this test......he was gone 4 money on his fat diet......

  • Sehwag is aggressive batsman.Dravid Very good defencive batsman laxman is risky player.and sachin got all this thing in one.

    runs says everything.

  • he is the next tendulkar for india....he will be very important for india in the world cup 2011

  • Tendulkar, Lara and Ponting are defensive and attacking batsmen... they work according the situation of the match where as sehwag is a kind of batsmen who just murders the bowlers whether its a tense situation or not... he doesnt like to play defensive and dats y hes most destructive batsman nowadays ....

  • @ronytheemperor Also thats why he will never be as succesfull as them, but I like him though; a player like him is a good asset to the team.

  • kia baat hai sehwag ki bret lee ki gaand khuli hi reh gayie band nahi huyie

  • he was brutal in this innings. but once he went the indians crumbled and the aussies won easily

  • thats why you don;t mess with virender sehwag

  • yeah u r right bro

    im an indian

  • butcher man ....

  • Here's one example of a really good ball and its 145 K not 150 plus which is what at least 4 international bowlers of today are capable of bowling - Just have to keep it fast , good length , on the stumps and its bye bye little man - Watch Akthar vs Sehwag on youtube

  • A master on flat lifeless wickets, helped by some bowling offering too much width or over pitched. You put all these conditions together and he is the best at putting them away, but on a half way decent track with even a 25% better bowling display and he's a gonner. Also always testing the fielders by offering at least a few chances in every innnings. The greatest batsman???? LOL! Please get real. The greatest entertainer "Yes" very well might be!

  • @Allaboutthemojo ...I will take the entertaintment tag you put on sehwag with a century and a half that he scores inalmost every country that he has toured with a 50 avg as an opening batsman facing new ball..yes ur right entertainer he is..and the only one....

  • @Allaboutthemojo u gotto watch sehwags innings in NZ and SA on bowler friendly wickets.. he is a real match winner in tests. there aint many batsmen in this world wo can score 200 in a day.

  • This innings taught a huge lesson to the Indians that if u keep defending ball after ball in Australia, you are eventually gona be done in by a beauty...So the Indian batsmen need to play their strokes and they will be successful. Someone like Laxman, Sehwag and even Dravid had a good strike rate post 2003 Indian tour to Australia....In future overseas batsmen need to play their strokes and keep the score board ticking to be successful in Australia.Indian and NZ are successful in Aus..

  • Jattan ka chora , kabhi under pressure na khele hai

  • Thank you to whoever put this one up because one of my biggest regrets as an avid cricket follower is that I (most unfortunately) didn't get to see a single delivery of this magnificent innings.

  • Wag- is awesum man...credit to sourav for giving him support when he needed it the most....At that time India had everything to play for, every country they toured under sourav needed to be conquered and they played under pressure each time.. Thats why I rate this innings so high as prior to this innings we had poor memories of Australian tour..Souravs captaincy gave confidence to sehwag, yuvraj, irfan, dhoni and the results are showing now....Credit needs to be given where its due

  • @snyperdoc

agreed , full credit to ganguly for showing confidence, aakash chopra flopped though in this series, also bhajji's absence was crucial , mind you ponting was in form of his life and made 2 double tons , but still India levelled the series

  • supeb batting. Every shot was a joy to watch

  • One of the greatest innings against the mighty Aussies , India lost though , but series were levelled. I consider Sehwag's 90 in second innings in Mohali test and 66 & 92 in Nagpur agst Aussies in 2008 tour as his best 3 innings. India won both the matches & regained Border Gavaskar trophy. Aussies proud was broken to shackles & revenge of 2005 test series loss was taken . He scored when it matters & he will be my hero .

  • couldnt agree more..and this was against a STRONG aussies team...not like the one we see now..which lost to sa......sehwag will smash hauritz, bollinger etc!

  • he is getting even better when the master sachin taught him his shorts

  • i am pakistani for me sehwag is best then lara and tendulkar what a bowler killer batsman

  • It is 'better than'

  • @khanooch12 yup, im pakistani too...I agree with you completely

  • @klause13 Come on, folks. Don't you think comparisons with Lara and Tendulkar are a bit far-fetched? That said, Sehwag is an excellent player and perhaps the best batsman in the game as I type.

  • @khanooch12 agreed he has been the most destructive batsman for the last 4 years shits on ponting lara tendulkar kallis

  • @khanooch12 players like sehwag come and go. There is no comparison between sachin and sehwag. Its like saying in a traffic jam both maruti and ferrari crawl at same speed, so maruti is better than ferrari

  • @khanooch12 I am an Indian and I think Imran Nazir is much better than Virender Sehwag

  • @sjrizvi You're joking, right?

    Sehwag: 22 Test hundreds @ 53.43 and 14 ODI hundreds @ 35.30

    Nazir: 2 Test hundreds @ 32.84 and 2 ODI hundreds @ 24.61

    Lol, no contest.

  • @adi87tya You also forgot the triple centuries and carrying the bat through an innings. ;)

  • @khanooch12 but u r a paki... why would like sehwag, dont u pakis hate india as they r taught to hate hate india since the minute u were born..

  • @khanooch12 Sehwag lacks consistency, but yes, he's a gun. As aggro as Navjot Sidhu-on the field, that is!

  • Fast bouncer's aside, he is an amazingly talented player with a lovely natural flow of the bat.

  • I'm not sure he would have done as well without the bouncer restrictions. Like Tendulkar, Sehwag has had a few problems with fast bouncers although nothing as bad as losing track of the ball's tragectory and getting out shoulder before wicket.

  • typical sehwag

  • That first ball shown here by Lee, it looked like Sehwag had no idea. Still a great knock though!

  • sehwag and gayle are always in high gear

  • @shatteewagon007 dunno about gear but defi high!

  • fucck the auss .

  • aa gaya maza

  • just lov him watching playing lik ths..

  • A great video. Thanks a lot Edosov34. I wonder why no one commented on this video.
