@bikeboy0012 No I didn't, I bought it in Starbuck, MN. If you find one from the 30's thats not completely toast you should buy it. They are very rare...
if it was my bus i would restore it to all original condition no alterations at all what so ever. i would even find the original engine it came with. i would also have all the seats put back i would make it like it came from the factory ready to pick up students. i just dont happen to like modded cars very much at all. i dont like when people change the steering wheel and add in a radio that it never sold with originally. i like all the original stuff in 100% working order. but thats just me
@ericzuza123 I disagree. Not realistic, not fun. Might as well go buy a kit car if you want plain jane cookie cutter stock. Anyone can do a stock restoration, not very many people now-a-days can modify and make their stuff unique and different, thats what this project is all about. You'll never see another 37 bus stock or modified, might as well make it as unique and fun to drive as you can.
@rmx77 Thats impossible. You do realize that this bus is about 1/3 ever made by chevy and the company that made the cab, right? Its not like a 37 chevy truck that you can find everywhere. At some point someone trashed all of the original interior, motor and other crucial parts that would be impossible to ever get back. You find me a set of seats out of a 1937 chevy school bus, with a cab made by superior, in the same length, I will GIVE YOU THE BUS. Hell i bet you cant even find 1 original seat.
@louverlid well i think in some way shape or form i could find some stuff for it may take some hunting but i could find it. i mean i want to preserve the originality of lots of stuff
@rmx77 Na sorry I dont think you realize how rare these are...even all the 3 i have seen online (which have different cab manufacturers), do not have any original interior in them. Plus the motor in the bus is not original either so their is just too much missing to even make it back to stock. Street rods/resto-mods are so much cooler than stock resto's anyways. In my opinion.
@rmx77 Also, why would i want my vehicle to not be fun or safe to drive? No power steering, no power brakes, no motor (a wopping 20 whp with an original 216). Sounds like no fun to me. But we are all entitled to our opinions. Its useless to me as a bus, and would be impossible to ever restore to original.
@rmx77 I agree if I were to be a bus driver I would get me one of these and use it of course I would have to fight tooth and nail to get my local bus company to allow it but it would be the most unique bus of all the ones that are out today they really need to go back to this art deco style peoples style in how cars are shown is just shit its all generic and cookie cutter this bus has some really amazing style to it even though its scene some better days
@Kiyoko504 Thanks, but just not realistic to be honest. Its way more usable as a camper in the real world. It'll mostly be going to car shows and be a little party bus for me and my buddies

@Kiyoko504 i have seen only one real bus like this or so and it was done up to be a hot rod bus. i mean sure it may be cool but its not in its prime condition. look at yellow stone national park they have some very very old buses that are not altered in any way. i like how they kept them original. i am sure if i had to if i had a bus like this i would have stuff custom made to be original
@rmx77 I totally agree with you, rat-rodding, especially in 2012 is such a crime considering there are so few of these vehicles around. Additionally, not converting it to an RV would be a great deal cheaper (just rows of cheap faux-leather seats), make the car much more collectible, and the owner could make a very steady profit from just renting it out to movie companies for filming.
@GlassByThaddeus Not going to be easy at all. lol im completely hot rodding it out. 73 nova Subframe with drop spindles, 350. 4L80E transmission, chevy 12 bolt rear end, 1 ton rear suspension, drop blocks, power steering, power brakes, all new tinted glass and window tracks (maybe power windows), custom paint, custom interior etc. Wouldnt be so bad if i were to keep everything in the drivetrain the way it was, but thats not as safe or functional as I'd like it to be. More work than i thought
Love the old bus motorhomes. We have a 52 chevy bus that my grandad converted in the 60s. We still use it every summer and get a lot of looks and compliments. You can see it on me channel. Good luck, and looking forward to updates!
@themadhacker2 thats cool! Thanks for the video response. Does yours have the original drivetrain or do you know any of the work that went into it? Also how long is your bus? Looks like its quite a bit longer than mine. Trying to gauge how much space I have inside, I like the way yours is set up but i wont have that much room
awesome find!

Sweet ride. Should be easy to do over. You can usually run the original gauges when you go to 12 volt. I got away with it on my Willys.
