Yes, they were doing some improv riffing, but when it came time for Bill Macy to say the line, he said it backwards, and they didn't catch it. Yes, they were doing some improv riffing, but when it came time for Bill Macy to say the line, he said it backwards, and they didn't catch it. They didn't "leave it in on purpose" to be cool or any such nonsense. It's one of the biggest and most blatant BLOOPERS in modern cinema. Another error the producers of this made was the last scene with the obviously fake dick. They didn't double check to see if it looked convincing enough, and once again they didn't catch it during dailies. The idiots!

Daaaarrrgh. I own the script. i did a research paper on boogie nights in my english studies class a few years ago. Scripts aren't set in stone. Are they set in stone? Yes, in a way - since the final version much line up and be logged and registered through the Writers Guild. (The fake dick comment was sarcasm in your direction, but that went right over your head, "brah"!)
As to your weak claim that the director left it in to show flustering, that won't work either - Macy was supposed to be pissed, not merely flustered.

We weren't arguing that is wasn't a blooper, we were arguing that the director of the film didn't notice it and it was accidentally left in. By that logic, the director, the editor, the producers, everyone who saw private screenings of the film, the actors, and the crew would've all had to have missed the blooper before the film went to final cut. the film is viewed many times by many audiences before the final cut is actually made. it can even be up to a week before it is released. brahahahaha

If any of those various departments caught them, the screwup would obviously be avoided. I have HUNDREDS of bloopers in my movie collection, having lectured to classes on the subject. Continuity supervision in movies today is lousy. These cokeheads money pitch to make the film, and once they score they don't sweat the details.
