i have a 660 and a yfz450.... yamaha all the way............. i wanted to get a bad ass sxs.. but i didnt see it in the rhino so i had to to go with the 900xp... i have had it for 4 months now and i love it... yamaha is the past polaris is the future..
I'd love to see you Polaris lovers take your UTV's on the trail that a couple of my friends and I ran a couple days ago in a rainstorm. With 3 people in my rhino I was able to run through some pretty horrible mud up hill and never used the 4WD until I was coming out of the trail up the other side over some rocks that were high enough to hit the skid plates. I've seen the Polaris vehicles offroad and yeah they're great to sit in a lawn chair and laugh at.
Obviously you have no clue about 4wd systems. The Ranger has 2WD and AWD, with some mechanical linkage to engage what they claim is a locking differential. The Yamaha's On Command system has been completely flawless for over a decade, and the only breakdowns in their system come from improper use and lack of maintenance. Most other brands only have 2WD and AWD with a viscous coupler system for a locking differential which never completely locks and only works if the tires spin.
@wildbill23c Obviously,,You have never rode a Polaris..They have the best 4x4 system..You have one switch on a Polaris and you can engage it any time except when spinning. It works great. On the Yamaha you have to be stopped when you put it in awd..And then you are limited on speed..The Yamaha wont turn for shit when its in awd..And you no it.I have a 2010 RZR and it rocks..I had the jap quads also,so I no what i'm talking about.Can-am comes close to have a 4x4 system as good as Polaris.
not actually a dozer its a traxcavator, basically a dozer with a loader front end on it. and one thing to note is on these john deere traxcavator's the tracks are different from that of a dozer becasue they are narrower and are smooth like excavator tracks while dozer tracks have aggressive grouser's. thats why these get stuck and spin out very easy witch is what this one is doing,
screw that. my ranger was way better then my rhino. save your selves alot of trouble buy a arctic cat 1000. awesome power better clearance and way way more power!
We bogged three 4 x 4 's trying to recover my Rhino 700 from a salt flat, they're pricks of things if you have no orecovery gear on them. Front and back winches ftw.
I've rode with rangers and my rhino is a way better machine. That's not an opinion. A rhino can go anywhere a ranger can but a ranger can't go where a rhino can, it's too big. The ranger is a better utility machine though, but that's it.
Yeah, if you're just into hauling ass and jumping it's great. Doing anything other than that it suks. I would rather have a well rounded machine than a single purpose machine.
When recovery requires a dozer, and the dozer can't pull it out you know your stuck. A Polaris Ranger would have been stuck a lot sooner than that, I've driven a Ranger they're complete junk.
Oh really, I'd like to see that. Polaris is the most over-rated company out there. I've seen more Polaris vehicles sitting in repair shops than on the trails due to their horrible craftsmanship. I've owned 2 Yamaha ORV's and have never had any problems with a combined mileage of 2900.
@wildbill23c Not true,,The rangers are the best you can buy..That's why Polaris has 85% of the SXS market. So when make a comment like that,,You are just bias.Polaris made in the USA..You go Polaris.Keep on producing the best ATVS and SXS on the market.
Really, so the Polaris Ranger and its 25mph top speed makes it a great vehicle, along with its constantly slipping belt drive transmission system, unlike the Rhino which keeps the belt at a constant tension. The only nice thing about a Ranger is the ability to unlock the rear differential, and the repair shops love the Polaris models because they're always in the shop being repaired.
You must have a turbo kit, every ranger I've ever seen will do 25mph. I've heard the new ones will do like 35-40. But who the fuck would drive a UTV at 70+mph in the first place? I bought my rhino because its the best on the market, and after 1200 hard back trail miles I'd like to see your POS ranger hold up on these trails like my rhino has, and be 400+lbs overloaded every trail ride with people and gear. I'd have to tow your POS ranger the whole damn trip.
