@koekoekwarrior Thank God I'm not the only one thinking that. Sure, it looks pretty goofy and cheesy, but cool in it's own right, but the prices on eBay... DAMN. And it sounds like ass anyway. For a cheap keytar-experience I bought the Rock Band-keytar 50 € (roughly 65 $) and use that as a MIDI-controller. Yes, it looks silly, but not 300 $ silly.
Does anyone else think that the sounds on the SHS-10 were based off of some of Yamaha's DX synths, especially the DX7? Because the Piano preset on this keytar sounds quite close to the Guitar 1 preset on the DX7, in my opinion.
@theoddman24 I figured that'd be the case. Not that I hate the way it sounds, or anything... In fact, I like some of the minimalistic digital synth sounds from the 1980s. :)
@theoddman24 hey man just to be brief: ur skills are as good as the keytar sounds. and i mean in a good way in my opinion. one question: does that keytar connects to an amplifier or just midi. i also record myself playing ax synth which it doesnt has no rhythm beats and no ability to record itself which is a rip off. now i really want to have yours lol. also my recordings dont have a good quality at least for now.
@AFreshNewSomething i think you could use something like the m audio uno midi interface or a similar product... its basically a midi 5 pin on one end and a usb on the other end, it doesnt work smoothly like a modern usb keyboard would but it will do the trick
@theoddman24 Oh, I'm sorry, I meant software-wise. I have the cable, and am trying to purchase this, but I need the software to run it through, and out to an amp.
@theoddman24 Oh, I'm sorry, I meant software-wise. I have the cable, and am trying to purchase this, but I need the software to run it through, and out to an amp. I'm in an electronica band, and while this has some fantastic on-board sounds, I have a few that I'd like to use at live shows.
I've got a Roland Lucina AX-09 but I'm thinking of getting a keytar that's a bit more retro (both in sound and colour, lol) that I can randomly start jamming on without an an amp...
@vegaunderfiregirl well if you already know how to play the piano its really easy, but if you don't i can't speak to that because ive had classical lessons for 10 years
@ninja067 well its certainly good for at least just writing some stuff and its definetly a showstopper when used live in a band- trust me as long as you midi it up to a better keyboard or a laptop i would def recommend getting it
youre great but still cabbage!

Hey I'm new to keytars and stuff so I don't really know much about them . Do you have to plug the shs 10 into anything to get it to play ? Thanks (:

@theoddman24 I am as well. I'm pretty sure your "rock guitar" was intended to be a banjo, but otherwise this sample video kicks butt, my man.

If you use the midi out to trigger a sound module that is touch sensitive, will this SHS-10 perform touch sensitive?

@johnbambammorgan im not 100% sure but im pretty sure that it will transfer the touch sensitivity data over the midi channel, so yes
