  • 1:42 THE KEYTAR SAYS HI!

  • Does anyone else think that the sounds on the SHS-10 were based off of some of Yamaha's DX synths, especially the DX7? Because the Piano preset on this keytar sounds quite close to the Guitar 1 preset on the DX7, in my opinion.

  • @TeamNES1 actually yea they are im pretty sure

  • @theoddman24 I figured that'd be the case. Not that I hate the way it sounds, or anything... In fact, I like some of the minimalistic digital synth sounds from the 1980s. :)

  • @DjLEATH3R As someone who lived through the 80s when this thing was made, I assure you, that's not a kid's toy.

  • Hey I'm new to keytars and stuff so I don't really know much about them . Do you have to plug the shs 10 into anything to get it to play ? Thanks (:

  • @BittyBopFlop it has an internal speaker but if u want amplification you will need an amp or pa

  • @theoddman24 I am as well. I'm pretty sure your "rock guitar" was intended to be a banjo, but otherwise this sample video kicks butt, my man.

  • @theoddman24 hey man just to be brief: ur skills are as good as the keytar sounds. and i mean in a good way in my opinion. one question: does that keytar connects to an amplifier or just midi. i also record myself playing ax synth which it doesnt has no rhythm beats and no ability to record itself which is a rip off. now i really want to have yours lol. also my recordings dont have a good quality at least for now.

  • thanks for the review....

a pretty decent interfase to hook up with a better keyboard o VST plugins

  • Very good vid and skills to match :)

Just wondering where can i get one of these (preferably not eBay)?

  • 0:44 - 0:48 Carry on my wayward son kansas lol

  • lol, well. now you know. so you can go around youtube correcting others, of course. ;) nice vid!

  • its pronounced, CHe-lest. CH. CHeleste. Celeste.... got it?

  • @bcrouche honestly i dont care

  • @bcrouche Maybe they should spell it that way. bdouche

  • Nice choices on the songs/instruments you play.

  • what a waste of money

  • @sheao1 your comment is a waste of page use.

  • NICE DEMO

  • hey does anyone know if they sell these in stores?

  • @413Dimitri Dude.. This was made in the 80's.

  • kein schlechtes video und die sounds von dem ding sind dafür das es so alt ist echt gut die gute yamaha shs10 die hätt ich selbst gern

  • awesome! thanks for this... im getting one! :)

  • 看得好心動~想買一把玩玩~~

  • @JackyLinXakie i have no idea what this means

  • @theoddman24 LOL he says he's motivated and wanted to buy one and try on haha i'm frm Hong Kong so i understand :)

  • @theoddman24 That chinees thing is "See a good heart to buy a play" says google translate

  • do they sell these in stores

  • @Lemon5eed no its from 1986

  • how mutch is this keytar?

  • @superpizzaboy7 great condition $300, bad condition $100

  • @theoddman24 i got a brilliant condition one of these in red for £68

  • @TopazArtLegends i dont know how many dollars that is lol but nice

  • @theoddman24 yh

  • you need a midi 5 pin to midi 5 pin cable

  • hey, which cables precisly do you need to use sounds from another keyboard??

  • The song you played when demoing the jazz organ at 0:40.... how do you play that? I bought the exact keytar and am just learning. Thanks!

  • The song you played when demoing the jazz organ at 3:40.... how do you play that? I bought the exact keytar and am just learning. Thanks!

  • Is there any way to run this using other VSTs, like, ones that I use in my DAW?

  • @AFreshNewSomething i think you could use something like the m audio uno midi interface or a similar product... its basically a midi 5 pin on one end and a usb on the other end, it doesnt work smoothly like a modern usb keyboard would but it will do the trick

  • @theoddman24 Oh, I'm sorry, I meant software-wise. I have the cable, and am trying to purchase this, but I need the software to run it through, and out to an amp.

  • @theoddman24 Oh, I'm sorry, I meant software-wise. I have the cable, and am trying to purchase this, but I need the software to run it through, and out to an amp. I'm in an electronica band, and while this has some fantastic on-board sounds, I have a few that I'd like to use at live shows.

  • I've got a Roland Lucina AX-09 but I'm thinking of getting a keytar that's a bit more retro (both in sound and colour, lol) that I can randomly start jamming on without an an amp...

  • @lilkenobi

can i purchase the lucina from you

  • and also, can you change the octaves on that?

  • @frantasticTV you can change the octaves theres a plus/minus button

  • what was the song on jazz organ? sounds like something off napoleon dynamite.

  • I just bid on one of these on eBay. How hard is it to learn to play do you think?

  • @vegaunderfiregirl well if you already know how to play the piano its really easy, but if you don't i can't speak to that because ive had classical lessons for 10 years

  • When you got to the Oboe I swear it sounded like the Sonic Spinball stage 1 song. XD;;;;

  • If you use the midi out to trigger a sound module that is touch sensitive, will this SHS-10 perform touch sensitive?

  • @johnbambammorgan im not 100% sure but im pretty sure that it will transfer the touch sensitivity data over the midi channel, so yes

  • simple and nice demo.

  • thanks you soooo much man i shud i get this keytar?

  • @ninja067 depends what are you planning on using it for???

  • @theoddman24 just to play and maybe write tunes i am in a band but im probly not gonna use it too much if i get it

  • @ninja067 well its certainly good for at least just writing some stuff and its definetly a showstopper when used live in a band- trust me as long as you midi it up to a better keyboard or a laptop i would def recommend getting it

  • @theoddman24 sweet i just might get it if im a famous keytarist one day ill thank u lol

  • Very useful video, you are a great player!

  • @tomaustin700 thx

  • CoOoOol
