i went to montessori school for shreveport till 7th grade, it's a joke. these kids come out of montessori schools and go into public high schools and have no fucking clue what to do. they soon realize that the real world is not all cream puffs and rainbows and people are assholes. they're so sheltered it's ridiculous. just keep your kids in public schools so they don't turn out to be pussies.

@86touge Your comment just illustrates how not all Montessori Schools are quality programs. A quality program prepares students well for high school and beyond. I am sorry you did not have a good experience. You, as all students, deserve better.

I love Montessori. We use a lot of montessori techniqes in our Homeschooling. If for some reasons I wasn't able to homeschool my children anymore they would defintely go to a montessori school.

My son has aspergers and is in Montessori. He has opened up so much. He can move at his pace (wich is rather fast) and he can be left alone to do it. If he werein a regular class I am sure he would not like it at all. Working on his own is one thing he has to have. Or the BIG melt down will happen.

Yes, you can learn and make your own materials cheaply. You can also find a lot of free downloads online. Yahoo groups has many helpful groups, and just do a search for homemade Montessori. You'll find a weath of links!

dude, rhea elementary is a whole lot better, we get extra recess for dance competitions and the teachers let us take our shoes off and play chase in the hall. you know you wanna admit its the funnest school u eva heard xD

you move from the concrete to the abstract...who needs to rely so much on it..NO...it 's just to get your concepts right and move on to the mental stage...Why ...the Chinese use the abacus to teach the young then once they can visualise all the "movements" involved then... whalaa...

Peninsula Montessori doesn't have any labs you can do in science class unlike public school.

I went to a british school in Yorkshire. God Damn it looked better than this.

The sad thing is, we wore uniform, didn't have gas in science and... thats it...

The good thing is, we didn't use abucus's and do geometry xD#

Looks like a good school... Too a-child-should-be-treated-like­-an-adult-and-do-their-own-thi­ng-but-quietly-and-adulticly school but... whatevs. Im the odd one out just cos i went to a uk primary school >:( No offense!

I started at a Montessori school in Grade-K and stayed for nine years. Now I go to a montessori high school.....I believe in it very deeply...

Individual is key. I went to regular school and sometimes it was hard to ask questoins, or go over something cuz the WHOLE class had to move on. You had to make it up on your own.

In 1997 a girl called lauren was walking in a forest and then a she just dissapeared no one ever found her untill 2000 when a yoing girl called Mary found her body and markings on her chest saying: I wasnt pretty enough" and now you have read this she will appear in your mirrorrsaying your not pretty enough and kill you. by the way the girl called mary died shortly after. not better than rhea elementary. we get to say watever we want at rhea and if we have a dance competition we get an extra hour of recess and we allowed to take off our shoes and roam through the halls like maniacs xD montessori is lame
