You're into astrology and you want to HEAR more about telescopes? Tony Darnell is a cosmologist who doesn't talk down to his audience but I doubt you'll learn anything about astrology....it's good for learning spellings of constellations but that's where any commonality ends in my view. Real science is much more fascinating and math is not necessary to love all these great videos from Cosmologist Tony Darnell. Subscribe to them all.
@quicklikeabunny666 Did you know actually in 2005 that a couple of scholars found out that "666" wasn't the actual number of the "Beast" it was misinterpreted from the number 616. To be honest I think you did that on purpose because of all my years of studying about the Universe and other Astronomy related subjects not really studied by creationist or Christians, because a lot of the theories contradict religion. icwutudidthar
@iDethKLok Well I think 666 has a bigger impact than 616 especially since most of the ppl who would be offended by 666 are too stupid to keep up with scholarly works. interesting though, I would like to see the article.
dude bring back the vlog... most interesting vlog iv seen, usually i dont make it past 1-2 videos without getting bored yours is definetly different though.
heres my sugestion for your vlog. do whats interesting to YOU. and trust we will find it interesting too!! you are a unique vlogger with your job, leave the simple stuff to everyone else, im sure you have very advanced interests in science and us commoners dont get many chances to see those details.
I did have a personal telescope until it was stolen, and the most I ever really got out of that thing was I got to see Mars in march of 98 magnified to about the size of a "O" on this text. I would love to be able to view more. T_T;
i will like if u could explain to me how gravity works.
An apple falls because of the force of gravity
then why is it that planets go around the sun instead of falling to the object with the biggest gravity(the sun)
is the same force acting here=?
because i always have been told that planets orbit the sun because of the force of gravity but when i make that question nonone has been able to explain
Well, essentially, they are falling towards the sun.
If you drop an object, it falls towards the ground. If you toss an object, it'll still fall towards it, but it has a curved path. Now imagine you toss an object so hard, that when it starts to fall, it's already near the curve of the Earth. If you do it right, it'll orbit the Earth. Same thing with the planets.
Play Mario Galaxy and long jump off of a small planet. It's like that. We ARE falling towards the sun, but we're moving so fast in a different direction that we're staying a safe distance away.
Your videos are good. But better when the visuals are of Space Images. Do a good 10-12 minute video on planetary oceans. what we know. What's been found. and possibilities. Make the video.
You are truly right but I don't think he heard you. His video about the most important image was really great but it was just a lucky shot, so forget about any more interesting videos from this guy.
pink floyd laser shows?! YES! why can't we have those in england? i guess america really is the greatest country in the world. keep up the good work man, can't wait for the next video :-D
Best video blogger on YouTube. I look forward to your video blog entrys and I find astronomy fascinating. I'll have to think of something worth asking you about soon :).
i love watching all your videos, you have a nice sense of humor. i was so excited when i saw a new video... lol very informative.. i would like to see more of your animation videos.. keep up the good work
I agree, black holes are very interesting. I would also like to learn about supernovas, comets, and more about some of the other planets in our galaxy. GREAT work by the way.
Go to you're book store, and look for a few books Theirs a great line of fire fly books that are very imformitive, and there is alot of astronomy mags out there!
There is a strange thing about the two Probes Voyager 1 and 2 (Hope I got the right names). They started accelerating after they left the sun system. Do you know anything about that or could you bring up the topic in one of your videos?
I really like catching up on your videos whenever you post, great stuff! Careful recommending people to steal stuff on youtube, there are some unstable individuals :D plus I want to keep my scope tyvm.. :)
Good point. I hope no one takes that literally. The irony of that is, while I was on campus, I parked in a lot and left my video camera bag in the car, when I returned, someone had stolen it. There was nothing in it except some cables, but still, what a pain.
I also had $300.00 pair of binoculars in the seat right next to it, they weren't touched.
I will lock the car next time. Didn't used to have to do that in Boulder.
I just stumbled upon your videos a couple of days ago. I've watched all of them multiple times now, and they are awesome!
I have a question that I have been thinking about for a while now. What was before the big bang?? I mean, was there just absolute blankness for an infinite amount of time??? My mind just cannot grasp that that there may not have been a beginning, and that space has alwasy just... been there.
Nobody knows what preceded the big bang (BB), but it would depend to which version of the theory you subscribe. Some think there was nothing before the BB (but not for an infinite amount of "time", as time only has meaning after the universe starts). Others think the universe oscillates (expands after a BB and collapses with a big crunch, over and over). If this is the case, then there was another universe before, but all information about it was lost in the previous crunch.
Thank you. The observatory was closed and there was a show going on in the planetarium when I was there. If I can get motivated and plan enough ahead, I'll call them up and get an inside tour.
