  • Dj Jazzy Jef Iz tha illezt ....

  • Vinyl is heavy, and losing your precious vinyl on overseas flights a nightmare! This is the future, whether it be Traktor, Final Scratch or Serato or any other variant this seems to be the real deal. The scratching seems almost smoother? Jazzy is a master!

  • iz he using serato?

  • yup. he's been plugging Serato for a while now. I've had a few nightmares with Serato so i'm not 100% convinced with it!

  • badman video, i got some dj vid's up as well check them out if you like!

    big!

  • jazzy jeff was the originater of what is known as the transformer scratch before he did all djs just scratched but he originated the transformer scratch

  • Didn't Jazzy Jeff start with the Funky Four Plus One?

  • That's Jazzy Jeff from the BX. He is an MC. This is Jazzy Jeff from Philly.

  • which is te track on 1.05??it plays for 5 sec only?:(

    does anybody knows??

  • The Name of the Song is "Tom's Diner" and it's performed by "Suzanne Vega"

  • dat dj can scrach om daze i wish i could of been der

  • Hijo 'e la santisima... Jazzy is so on point. Gotta love his work.

  • He is fucking unparallelled, I always hated how he worked in the shadow of an MC considered a jokey gimmick. And In This Corner... has some crazy cutting on it. Yeah, I owned a Fresh Prince album, I ain't gonna lie

  • I think being associated with the Fresh Prince helped him far more than it hurt him. Jeff is a classic, and his old skool knowledge is unparalleled. On the technical front, however, Craze or Kentaro will eat him up. This set was something Cash Money used to do in '88-'89.

  • Good point. But I think frm the interviews he gave back in the days, that's how he wanted it. sort of like D.J. Wizard of Kid N Play.

  • Anybody know what happened to DJ Skribble of Arrested Development?

  • AD just got back together and made another album, however, they didnt release it in the U.S. He was on the album and their single is called "Miracles." Check it out, it's on youtube.

  • OMG DUDE LIKE WTF WHATS THE NAME OF THAT SONG WITH THAT CHICK SINGING "doo doo do doo do do dooo do..do do do do do dooo do" or something like that with I like to call the "Doo-doo" song =)

  • "Tom's Diner" from Suzanne Vega, but the version on her album is accapella and some guys called DNA illegally mixed the music and beats you're accustomed to hearing and I don't know where you can find that version.

Incidently, her label was gonna sue those guys and she heard it, loved it, halted the legal proceedings and asked them to do a treatment to another of her songs called "Rusted Pipe"--- what a cool chick

  • sunsan vega ..diner tom....dooood dooo dood dooo

  • You had to be there in Philly at the time to really appreciate turntablism!

I was. The areas were dangerous but the music and style were cutting edge! Jeff is cut from a cloth of older djs who knew records and he just built upon that! You should hear him mutilate TLARock's "It's Yours". Gangsta scratchin' fo real!

  • I remember Jeff in our hometown Philly at the Belmont Plateau straight mutilating LL's voice and creating his own melodic script! His battles with Cash Money, another badass Jock were legendary. Philly will always be known for having the most illest DJs!! Transform scratch creators!

  • No doubt about that i guess some people would have to be from philly to really understand how serious those dudes was

  • That is the truth! I'm a West Philly girl, born and raised and those days at the Plateau were some of the best of my life. I consider myself to be very fortunate to have been around to witness what is, I think, an important part of musical history that deserves far more awareness that it has - and Id take Jeff over these super-hyped DJs popular right now every day of the week. He doesnt get enough recognition in my book!
