Both Pak Mei, and Lung Ying take many years to use for self defense. The best chance of using either of these systems including other styles for self defense is to stick to the basics, such as simple parries, blocks, and basic strikes. Never use Chi Na on someone a lot bigger, instead use the leapard hit and run tactic, to slowly weaken your enemy, and also this system, and other styles are not useful, without the renounded, and feared shock powers...peace
Very nice form! Shame the video is a bit accelerated, because it prevents us to see the subtlety of the execution...but still, a very nice document...
Good grounding & structure, alot of LY players try to do the forms @ a 100 miles a hr ,sacrificing form & it becomes a mishmash. This sifu is really good.
@chapjai: Oh yeah, speed in practice can be detrimental. When I was younger I always wanted to go so fast in practice and then couldn't understand why my techniques were so sloppy in sparring!
Also, what is LY an abbreviation for? Is that the style this comes from?
Great post and good performance! Great to see more of these systems from what appears as legit performaers. IIRC bak mei and Lung Ying are considered sister systems, and often ppl have been noted to cross train in both. V. practical systems geared for fighting rather than show, at least historically.
nice video i like this dragon style do you know if they tech this in san francisco ca thank you

This is the kind of Gung Fu I like! Fast and powerful hand techniques with low kicks and lot of basic and solid footwork.
An excellent display.
