  • 2:38 esa torres tan fabulosas

  • Can upload the scene, where he said die the way you lived the whole speech can't find it on youtube.

  • I've known for decades about the Dillinger connection but somehow never saw the movie itself until quite recently. "Manhattan Melodrama" is one of the best movies ever made, a fantastic smash hit in1934 and a sensational experience to behold today. Gable's performance in this one cemented his popularity as the foremost leading man of the sound era, period, and I believe Raoul Walsh directed it, taking another look at material from his own "Regeneration" (1915), the 1st gangster movie.

  • Personally, I think the only reason people know this was the last movie John Dillenger saw was because of Public Enemies.

  • @edwardjames50 Back at ya Happy New year

  • It was a great movie by 1934 standards, and as far as I'm concerned, it's a great one now.

  • @edwardjames50

YOU FUCKED WITH THE WRONG PERSON MR JAMES EDWARDS

  • @edwardjames50

Yes i do believe that Mister B is right. Most men don't tolerate disrespecting a lady,

Especially a good one who works with abused children and kids and dedicates

her life to doing only good things with helping others at her own expense.

Think before you open your mouth there's always a wise ass everywhere what

have you done lately to help someone anything man. Didn't think so and the love

life still in the crapper too. I have heard about u on here and finally came across you.

  • @Mr2Rex ~ May all the joys and blessings of this holiday season be with you!

  • Apparently John Dillinger was had a crush on Myrna Loy, thats why he came out of hiding to see it.

  • I don't care how big his ears were, Clark Gable was one of the hottest actors ever!!

  • this is the oldest film i've ever watched. i liked it. that one girl was kinda annoying though. always asking "can i have a hot dog" lol.still. it was a good movie

  • dillinger chose this as his last movie

  • that clark gable is still a looker !

too bad this movie is only known as the last film seen by John Dillinger...

the stars in this are fab

  • why does everyone say this movie is famous because it was the last movie this dillinger guy watched (who is he anyways). i watched this movie because i'm a big fan of clark gable

  • @ManhattanMelodrama34 where can i get this movie?:)

  • @GALCEZAR You can get in a TCM set of William Powell and Myra Loy at Hastings Book stores or on line at New Egg and many others ... There are five movies included : Double Wedding, Evelyn Prentice, I Love You Again, Love Crazy, Manhattan Melodrama ... All five are less than $40 .... All great movies... Hope that helped ... Oh and John Dillinger was a famous gangster back in the day (1930s) ... a kind of a hero to some back then...

  • @GALCEZAR I got it while i was visiting canada. they have a store there called chapter's and you can order it. also i got another copy on amazon.com (it was a vhs)

  • @GALCEZAR actually they don't have it at chapter's anymore. sorry

  • I don't believe it was Dillinger, The guy who was shot had brown eyes,Dillinger had blue gray eyes, If you look at the picture of the dead guy, it looks nothing like dillinger.

I believe that's why Purvis killed Himself because He knew he killed an innocent man. The real Dillinger was suppose to have died in 1956 in a pool hall in Ohio.

  • RIP John Dillinger

  • I loe these classic gasngster pictures. Alot of the Directors in those day were doing some thangs that most directors didn't figure out until the 70's.

Sure these movies are sterotypical, but they are so good.

  • I so love John Dillinger's character

  • Dillinger wasn't in the movie, he was AT the movie. He was a Bank Robber until his death AFTER seeing this exact same movie. He was not a mobster like the guys in this film

  • calm ;)) I know that. I searched for this Manhattan Melodrama movie after watching Public Enemies :)

  • amazing.

  • Personally, I think that this movie is famous because it was the movie John dillinger watched before he was killed

  • @DeppPattinson4EVER I first read about this film in a book about John Dillinger.

  • Just got through watching "PUBLIC ENEMIES". And as I was watching, I noticed that JOHN DILLINGER went to see this movie. And I just had to see if YOU TUBE carried it. Unfortunately, just the trailor.

  • Trailer

  • Also, the whole movie is on YOUTUBE you just need to get better at searching.

  • I love the 1930's.

John Dillinger saw this film just moments before his death.

  • Alot of similar films were inspired by John Dillinger in the 1930's

  • @JigsawX37

Did that really happenend back then or do you mean just the movie?

  • @JigsawX37 It looks to me a bit like typical 1930s kitsch.

  • @JigsawX37 possibly correct, doesnt mean it isnt a decent flick, i enjoyed it.
