I Get the Idea of this.. I Personally Like it.. for those with the negitive comments, It done slow like this so you can see whats going on, at full speed you wouldnt have seen anything
Why Do Wing Chun practitioner keep their hands out so far and keep it out after trying to strike? Of course you're gonna get caught. Makes no sense at all.
This is wing chun but they only uses 15% of the Wing chun techniques... i can see that he mixed wing chun and boxing together..still good though. but nt that good.
I believe Wing Chun was designed with a woman's strengths and weaknesses in mind. It loves to target areas that are vulnerable no matter who you are fighting, expounding upon speed and neglecting physical strength where it can.
It is, therefore, an unsuitable discipline for competition. Competition devalues critical attacks and emphasises physical power, making fighting arts like boxing and karate the only choice.
i dunno i saw plenty of wing chun techniques in there, they werent rigid perfect examples that you might see in forms, but there was without question wing chun in this video
I saw wingchun, they just dont look cool liek the forms, full contact fighting never looks cool like forms. They used the concepts of wing chun in their fighting, they got the enemy off their center line and hit them, they used the front kick to stop them and then hit them. Controling centerline and over whelming them with chain punches, it was all wingchun lol
@KoleNinja I disagree, I think there was a clear demonstration of Wing Chun. IT's just that it looks different from forms when there is actual resistance.
Actually I replied to you and then I asked something to the uploader of the .Anyhow, I don't wanna start talking for stuff like WC vs Boxing and bla bla bla. And hey! this is not a sparring session ;)
Well the title says fighting and that makes it even worse.I assumed it was light sparring. If you want to call that real fighting then I'm lost for words.
You have a point here about the title. But I don't call this fighting, please man! You can call it light sparring cuz it's controlled. anyhow, lets end it here shall we? the one who uploaded the video isn't obligated to get disturbed by our comments!
Sifu a quick question, why is it that most kung-fu competition events look more like kickboxing matches than actual kung-fu techniques? In karate kumite our fighting resembles our style, but this acomplish thru enforcing the rules that the strikes have to resemble or look like karate strikes otherwise is just kickboxing. I ask because i'm compiling the lineage of karate & it's direct influence of kung-fu.Few people today realize that kungfu was the primary influence in karate, before jutsu was
karateinfo1: thats because kung fu is not for competition! kung fu is only for fighting self defense... there are no rules! if somebody try to do kung fu for competition than he has to fight with rules so he ant do everythink thats the reason why it look like bad kick boxing !
Karate is Kung fu, I think of Karate as just another style of Kung fu, though it has some influence from the Okinawan people, but Karate was actually called "Chinese fist" by the Okinawan people before Japan took it over, then the name changed to more Japanese name. These "real" kung fu techniques your talking about im guessing are kicks to knee joints, eyes strikes, neck strikes, kicks to groin. Its quite obvious why these moves are agenst the rules lol, your not ok afterwards, or dead lol

This is pretty pathetic. My sparring partners in Taiji hit harder, faster, more accurately, less tension, more force, and more wisdom than this.
Wtf is this crap?

WTF are you talking about Evripides Celicakias ?Mr. Guel, heritage ?
My name is not Mr. Guel and if by heritage you mean kung fu style then you are dreaming buddy.
I think you got me confused with somebody else!
I train in boxing ,muay Thai and BJJ.
As far as the ''sparing'' in this vid, no lateral movement, no fakes, and most importantly sticking the head up like that will get you KTFO
