one of the FUNNEST things to do when you're in the water with your horse, is whenever you're in kind of deep water, about halfway or almost to their withers, is to face the shore and just run! it works their muscles and feels awesome! just make sure that it doesn't spook the other horses, sometimes it scares them with the splashing

Great video, but the horses never swim. Learned this the hard way. When a horse swims, only his ears &eyes are out of the water and the rider id fully submerged. These horses are doing what we call dancing across the bottom(still great fun). If you don't believe me, put them in deeper water, just when the horse starts swimming,swim above him, but do not let him turn toward you or he can drown you. When he swims, if you touch his back,you will force him under. Like I said,we learned the hard way.

Swimming for all of three seconds maybe, the rest of it was walking. And if our feet are touching bottom for the majority of the session, it's not swimming, but the walking WAS for the majority of the session, so that is hardly just a technicality.

wow your so lucky we can't do that were i am lol there are not like ponds, lakes ect. we have to drive a hour to get to a beach were horses are aloud aswell. lol great video! :D

That looked like so much fun the closest thing I have to that is a creek but it only comes up to my horses knees. But my appleloosa loves the water while my appendix takes alot of convincing if you want her to get in.

One of the horses i ride, Tate, hates hates hates water! But he actually went into this pond and went swimming, so anything's possible. Just tell him he's gonna do it, and he'll do it... maybe.

the first time in a while. the paint is a baby still, so he went in once, and then he was done. most horses are pretty reluctant at first
