  • lovely machine, nice to see something non-conformist in model engineering, does it have roller bearings throughout like the original? i notice this model doesn't have the double chimney as was originally built on 4767

  • @homingpigeon07 the engine is not running on roller bearings, it uses plain bronze bearings. You are also correct about it not having the original double chimney which was removed in 1953 along with its electric lights. The model is based on how the engine is today in preservation with the electric lights refitted (None working on the model) and also the name plates ‘George Stephenson’ and engine number 44767 in BR Lined Black.

  • Just 1 more thing to add to my list of "Things I Could Watch For Hours".

You guys who have skills with machine tools are my heroes.

    I can't use a screwdriver.

  • Very nice example you have there.
