  • holly shit...Really?

  • Great song.My ex-girlfriends daughter was named Nova Lee after this song.I haven't seen her since 1981.I wonder where Nova Lee is now after these many years have passed.

  • I could care less about PC or anything else. The song is horseshit and watching it now is an exercise in irony for those who value certain levels of humour. Whitebread MF! Too bad it is not a video of him tied to a wagon wheel and a fire lit between his legs.

  • the old ones are the best

  • Thanks so much for posting!!

  • thanks so much gatorrock, your a star, x

  • First time ever hearing this one, what a fantastic song! - a big thanks for posting this :)

  • @threehundredwords No problem. I wonder why this video is getting a lot of views lately?

  • This is the first time I've seen a performance from this era that looks like lip syncing. Am I way off base here?

  • @rickkuhn It's not lip sync'ed

  • @rickkuhn No lip syncing here

  • @Gatorrock787 sorry, my dad says to me every time he plays it do you know what this is about, listen to the words he will say, gator if you dont mind me asking where did you find clip or could you disc it for me a would pay you for it, it would mean a lot to my dad.x

  • @SuperBigmomma28 Sorry I can't make a copy for you. It's available on a DVD in the Opry Video Classics series called "Jukebox Memories". It's rather difficult to find. Alternately, if you install Real Player (google it) on your PC (It's free.)... it comes with software that allows you to download any clip on youtube. You can make your own DVD with the file.

  • i sat and listened to rex singing this before he recorded this thanks bevy

  • I used to sing this song all the time when I was a child. I love Indian stuff, anyway :)! I think there may be some Cherokee in me but I never have done a genealogy to find out for sure.

  • I'm half Choctaw Indian and I love this song!

  • This is a stupid song, but it's not a "bad" song

  • beautiful song well sung by a good singer

  • Rex Allen had a good enough speaking voice that Disney used him as a narrator. His voice is the best--singing or talking.

  • Listen to the whole song. The kids an Indian and the father says he loves him. It might be corny but it isn't racist.

  • Comment removed

  • rex was my favorite i miss his

  • I AGREE WITH INGLESCOMER, PC IS KILLING THIS COUNTRY. RICK

  • Political correctness has ruined America

  • There's nothing racist about this song and only an misinformed, uneducated person would think it is. The PC crowd sets themselves up and judge and jury. They decide what should be read and heard. Take this song for example. An Indian boy is attracted to an Indian girl. Huh? What's wrong with that? It's a simple novelty song. That's all it is.

  • @inglescorner It's a white boy who is attracted to an Indian girl.

  • @countrysinger1952 Friend.....listen to the lyrics. The guy singing the song was taken by a white man and raised as his own. He's an Indian.

  • @inglescorner I guess I just didn't listen closely enough in my younger years :).

  • @countrysinger1952 You are not alone. Sometimes I'll turn on the car radio and hear a song at just the part that I never could understand. And then it's, "Oh, so that's what he was singing." haha

  • @inglescorner Exactly

  • I hate "politcally correct"! It's pure Bullshit and I don't pay it any mind! Great song! Rex was a really nice guy and his folksy, warm charm graced many narrations, voice-overs, Western movies and commercials over the years, in addition to a few hit songs.

  • Valium...go drink another 60 oz of soda pop while you hide behind your keyboard in your dingy bedroom tossing out insults. Do something constructive with your life like maybe finishing junior high school.

  • Not really racist though.

  • @Valium762 Go blow your brains out. There is no use for garbage like you on this Earth.

  • A great blast from the past

  • He was my grandfather. I sure wish I got more of those singing genes.

  • I miss Rex allen....

  • Where can I download this song?

  • It's too much...I love it.

  • thanks alot gator i should have this one down by tomorrow

    thanks gator

  • love this song, my dad used to sing it to me when I was young.
