  • The only issue I have with gamers is the Twink/Power gamer that is pvp focus to the point they will ruin any Multi player game out there. Blizzard is such a beat slave boy when it comes to this. the twinks whine and cry and blizzard bends over backwards to shut them up, while losing focus on any game they are dealing with..

I'm currently playing DDO Though those Devs aren't much better they refuse to fix old content because they are just tards when it comes to that.

  • AHOOOO!!!

    I GRABED THE DEAD IDOL!

    Is worth 30k!

  • the game looks so innocent... i tried to play it and DAM! ur actually playing better than me XD

  • Lol at 1:59. look at the kills, blue frogs only...

  • I predict profits in excess of $40,000,000..... In America.

  • Unless you're health is very low or trying to aim for a trophy, always sacrifice a Damsel when possible. The Kapala is well worth it, considering you can recieve an extra 1, 2 or if you're lucky, 3 HP in every level. It's only two damsels needed for the Kapala, so you can get it as early as Level 2.

  • Actually, dead shopkeepers only give you 6 favor. Stunned ones theoretically give you 12 favor, but they have a ridiculously low stun time, so that's very hard.

  • omg i love ur vids but all this time I FORGOT 2 SUB!

  • I don't remember to be honest, something with the tunneler man, go to spelunky wiki to check that.

  • About Kali Altars, you can find it in the web, but for the lazy ones.

The amount of favor won from sacrificing something depends on whether the offering is alive or dead, and also on exactly what you offer:

Vampire (stunned only) - 1 Favor

Man-eating plant (stunned only) or Caveman - 2 Favor

    Yeti - 4 Favor

    Cultist - 6 Favor

    Damsel - 8 Favor

Shopkeeper (dead only) - 12 Favor

If the offering is dead instead of stunned, then you only gain half the usual favor for the sacrifice.

  • As you gain favor, Kali will give you rewards in return.

At 8 Favor, you gain a random piece of equipment

At 16 Favor, you receive a Kapala, which allows you to collect drops of blood from

enemies and convert every 8 you collect into an extra point of HP.

At 32 Favor, if you have fewer than 80 Bombs, then Kali will fill your bag up to 99

    Bombs.

Finally, for every 16 Favor above that, you gain an extra 4 to 8 HP.

Each gift can only be received once per game.

  • Me, sick of Spelunky? Not in this lifetime!

  • "We've discovered bats are unstoppable killing machines." You're thinking of bears, Kiko.

Also, man the Ice levels suck.

  • I don't think I will ever get sick of Spelunky. It's just so amusing! Definitely better than most of the games out these days.

I miss games made for fun rather than for showing off a new engine.

  • "You died, you died, i stole the money and it was good."

    i literally lol'd

  • im not sick of splunky

  • Me neither!

  • SPELUNKY FTW!

  • I agree!

  • we all agree to agree that spelunky agree's that we ned more of him

  • Has anyone realized yet? You leave the damsel in a god damn square room to rot. You save her from being killed, only to be starved to death.

  • its not that I'm sick of splunky, but I'd like it if you played more point and click games next.

  • are you a masochist, kiko?

  • "...metal gear..."

  • Who here knows/cares that Kali is actually a Hindu goddess of death and destruction?

  • Makes sense.

  • Isnt that Shiva?

  • Shiva IS the primary goddess of death, but Kali is a lower goddess of destruction and a goddess of death. But kudos to you for knowing about Shiva.

  • "feels proud"

  • Kiko, try starting from the cave levels next time. trust me, you're good enough to go through those levels fast enough and with tons of treasures: it'll make paying the tunnel guy a LOOOOOOOT easier (:

  • I'm not so sure about that, unless you would see the short-cut guy at the end of Level 4 as well :) It would lead to more videos though

  • no, but the one at the end of the ice caverns asks for a PAINFULLY LARGE amount of money...and just how the feck can you explore THOSE levels well enough to raise 50k everytime if you don't have the cape of awesome, spring shoes and climbing gloves (or any of the above, really)? ): you'd ultimately need to replay those levels anyway xD

...or else you'd REEAAALLY be stuck with the game for ever and ever

  • What you say makes no sense.

You go through way more level before you can give your money to the guy. This means more risks to fail.

Everything you get from the 2nd area gives more, too. Granted, its easier to gather things in the 1st world, but the idol is worth 10k instead of 5k alone, for example.

So it makes no sense to do it from the start for that, considering he keeps dying in the jungle.

  • precisely. more levels means more chances of having money in your way without having to take too many detours. besides, more levels ALSO means more treasure, since, at any rate, jungle levels can give you all the more money you want, it doesn't matter, simply imagine the amount of money you get in the jungle, PLUS the cave levels money, and, when the temple is unlocked, the ice levels' as well. and i'm saying this because the ice levels rarely give you tons of easy/in your face money

  • He would die anyway, since he still has to go through the jungle levels, and the fact that he has to change enemies, hence behavior after level 4, means higher chances of dying. That and the fact that he will have 4 hearts to go through 8 levels.

  • Thy faith in the Kiko is weak then

  • Yeah, well, I'm faithless myself. I can barely get to level 5 without dying.

  • ahh...now everything makes sense. Don't worry, young pada-wan, you just need practice...and if you're bad, that'll take you a few hundred, maybe thousand times, but it's not THAT difficult once you've gotten used to it :>

  • The force will come strong on me, but later. Now I'm sick and tired of falling into spikes and throwing grenades in giant spiders since I miss the webs.

  • Let's pray

  • Casual gaming,hardcore gaming,mainstream gaming,....just terms.

  • You need at least 2 sacerfices before you profit from anything.

My friend sacerficed as many people as possible, and he had collected LOTS of health from it. At the end of so many sacerfices, he had about 18 Hitpoints. (He even sacerficed the girl)

    You can't sacerfice corpses, though.

  • you can sacrifice corpses, they're just worth 50% less

  • Really? Odd.

    It wouldn't accept them.

Maybe just a bug he had.

  • Not everything is immediately a bug, even in a beta. The corpse just can't be hanging of the edge of the altar.

  • It was in the middle.

Nonetheless, he managed to beat the game anyways. Only in around 120 deaths too.

    ...Err, Sorry Kiko. =/

But I had a feeling it was mostly luck.

  • i will never tier of you and splunky (dieing)

  • Ditto! If we watched his Action 52 LP without tiring... why would we yawn at Spelunky?!

  • rob the shopkeep again

  • You died...you died, i get the money and i leave

  • You're right when you say that video games were always open to everyone. But I think the issue is not in excluding casual gamers, even I, an old hardcore gamer, enjoys a bit of casual gaming, especially in trains. I think the problem is that hardcore gamers feel like they're playing watered down games nowadaysfor the sake of casual gaming. remember the castlevania days ? When you spent countless hours trying to figure out how to beat Frankenstein ? Well, we wish those days never stopped...

  • One thing kills bats: Umbrella!

  • My problem with gaming is not casual gamers, but people who whine about casual gamers.

If someone only plays games once or twice a week it makes no difference to me, I can still do my own thing. But people who are vocal about it as if casual gamers are ruining THEIR good time? I feel sorry for them, and also pretty bad because I don't want to belong to a group where that kind of thing is not only considered okay, but the norm. Gawd.

  • Those people aren't that dumb. They don't whine because people play once or twice a week. They whine because they force the market to shift by encouraging producers to produce casual games that sell a lot instead of genuine games made for real gamers that will ultimately sell less.

  • True, but if you want challenging games, there are tons of people who actually make games online, the graphics may not be as good, but they are just as fun, I think. I didnt like when a series I liked was made really easy, but what can you do?

  • @Karakta sorry for comment necromancy, but i agree with you 100%, it is because of that that games get rushed for release now (KotOR II is a prime example, [evem though casuals dont play RPG's that often!])

  • Spelunnky's great! Keep on playing it, Kiko!

  • i guess people have allready told u but its not the cape of awesome or whatever :p its a cape that lets u fall slower if u press the jump button again in mid air. anyways keep up with the spelunky vids they are indeed entertaining. also if u keep sacrificing mobs u will recive items and hp after a while

  • He never reads comments.

  • Most of the time, but not never, actually.

  • Oh. he does. Its just the matter of he's already beaten the game and these videos have been recorded months ahead of time. So for any gameplay tip comments its too little too late.

  • im not sick of spelunky! =D i love spelunky

  • Kiko, I know it's a bit late now but here's a tip regarding the spike/vine pits...I figured it out from your mention of spikes in your first video!

If you ledge grab, then you aren't very far above the spikes and can drop down on them safely, and then just walk across the pit while monkeys impale themselves.

Anyway, keep it up, love Spelunky!

  • CRAP sorry Kiko I accidently voted one star and still not sick of Spelunky

  • I will rate 5 stars, then!
