Hey did the rg120 come with stock active pickups and you just switched it with emg 81/85? And do you think a tube screamer is a good option for a metal boosting pedal?

It came with passive IBZ P/U's. I had to pay 200ish for the EMG's and 60 to have them soldered in. Unless you are really sold on Ibanez, check out the Schecter Omen Extreme 6. It comes stock with EMG's for $400 and has a better kind of wood for the body. The video doesn't do the pedal justice for the clean boost or the metal boost because I didn't have a mic to mic it properly. Yes, it does work good to add a little bit more midrange and teeth to a channel with a moderate amount of gain.
