I am in the process of buying new lights. I have the option of ADJ Accu 300 or VIZI LED. Can you share your thoughts on which would you recommend? Also, how does manual focus differ from auto focus?
@troymichaeldj Check out my videos on "Poor Man's Moving Head Totem". We built 4 different tripod/moving head stands so there are several options out there.
Previously I've had my doubts about the light output of LED moving head units, but with this video I'm beginning to get pretty sure it is "enough" - if you're not intending to use them on a stadium or something like that :)
And Brian, concerning shooting in the dark ... you could try locking the focus while lighted up by setting it to "manual mode". That might give better results, many video cameras have serious problems focusing when the light levels drop below certain point...
excelllent video brian...you kept your word...im buying mines on monday...i might get 4 of them....my question is....what were you using to controll them? ....and for next video i like to see them in a gig.....mixed with other lights. doode...you took your time to do this....we appretiate it.
Thats bright enough for a mobile set up i think their cool looking. But of course the light is going to dissipate in a larger room. Most party rooms are not going to be that size
Great demo of these puppies! I am glad to see this, I've two in the mail! I think I will be very happy with the brightness, with the lights you could see these no problem.
One point to remember, brightness depends on the size of the room and crowd, what i mean it your doing 200 or 100 ppl weddings, then you don't need a 575W moving head, it will blind them.
@DJTru2 There is a lot different. The lamps for one in the 5R consume more power at about 160watts more for the lamp. The vizi spot LED is similar in output to a 150watt discharge. The visi Spot 5R is output is comparable to a 575 Watt Fixture. the spot 5R has more gobo's (2 gobo wheels for gobo overlay morphing) and has motorized focus via dmx as the vizi spot led has manual focus. I am sure there are more differences but i can't remember them all.
i love how it splits the gobo into 3 and then spins them. i was teching my music schools fall show and one of these came down right where i had to run a talk-box tube up a mic stand. man was it disorienting, ha ha good times. anyway good vid and
@ihearvoices22 IT also splits into a X5 prism & does this infinity thing too where it almost trails like you might have seen on your last Acid trip. HA!
Very good review on these. I've thought about possibly getting into LED moving heads. I've been a discharge lamp moving head guy for awhile. But after seeing these I really like them. Please be sure to bring these out to YTDJ's Live Midwest so I can see them in person. Thanks for sharing!
@gotladdertrucks Well keep in mind I was attempting to fog up a room with 35-40' walls. My camera could not capture the ariels very well as I said in the vid
@briansredd Still though, I'm able to pull off just as much effect with my Design Spot 250 Pro's with just a minimal amount of haze in the room. I'm usually in a gym, and the slightest amount will provide a great effect. How do they compare in brightness to an MSD250 fixture?

$749 American Dollars is what American DJ has set the Minimum Advertised Price at.
However, you should be able to get it for a lower price if you haggle.
I, for instance, would sell you 4 for $2500 + tax + S/H

Seems like they just added the under the hood video of the vizi led which wasnt there when i asked brian to take it apart. Lol

wow, and this was with the lights on???? this thing must be really bright.
how well does it respond to sound active mode, as i am not quite ready to go dmx yet. also, how hard is it to stick a customized gobo in this thing?
i think i may have found my next light purchase thanks to this vid.
thanks brian!

@BOBBYBLENDZ You can adjust the sound active response, although I have't messed with it too much in MIC mode
