  • fuckin eh!

  • This sounds like it's from the Santa Moniica 10 20 72 show!

  • Kiss & Alice Cooper should've studied Bowie more closely: intelligent theatrics, intelligent songwriting, and a band comprised of truly great players.

  • God he was gorgeous, love the hair he had back then

  • Ahhh. Bliss!

  • Оф аз да нямам четири очи случайно?!?!?! Да му се не види колко тъпо е направено... |-(

  • Still I can hear some Pink Floydian accords.....did you???

  • without mick ronson is impossible ziggy stardust or moonage day dream

  • The horse that won the 2009 Kentucky Derby was from Roswell, New Mexico.

    right up there!

    Make That Bird - Ziggy.

  • I went to a concert at Winterland San Francisco in 1972(?) with a friend to see Bowie. I didn't know who he was beforehand. Sylvester and the Hot Band were the opening act. They were great. When Bowie came out on stage my life changed forever.

  • @dogmadic you lucky man!!!! I wish I was there!!!

  • Excellent - great stuff !!! So far until now I had only seen and heard the live " Hammersmith Odeon " version used in the movie " Ziggy Stardust " and which is on his greatest hits DVD. Makes you wonder why they didn't include this version too ! It's nice to have a slightly slower live version and one with more depth from lead guitar by Mick Ronson. Thanks.

  • Yep for sure - the Hammersmith was good but I would love to have a dvd of this show in the earliest form of the Ziggy persona. You can tell he is really 'fresh' here and not 'rippened' as he was in the final Spiders show.

  • never thought this song could have such a huge rock feel i love it!

  • BOWIE please....come again....COME AGAIN

  • The soundtrack is Santa Monica '72 as said before and the video is from that time, but a bit of a mash-up as there probably isn't a good full version to go with the sound. The last Hammersmith gig version didn't sound as rocky IMHO. Also, Mick's guitar had a bit of tuning probs at the start, unlike this- the man was a rock legend and nice bloke.

  • ...one of the best guitar sounds ever, this version really shows it off.

  • That's just an awesome sounding guitar on this version of the song... love it!

  • in 1972 Bowie was My wind, My air, My breath

  • in 1972 i was still in my daddy's nut sack lol

  • best song by david bowieeee :)

  • now you kids know why a lot of us at that time were high on acid.

  • i bet. im 19 and feel there is nothing to get high or drop acid to. Rock'n'roll is dead.

  • yeah, it feel like the only music to trip to is trance techno blipity blop crap wich is seriously trippy on some buttons or tabs but that's just it- trippy. no substance. So where are the spiders? we need the children to lose it, we need the children to use it, we need the children to start boogeying godamnit... cause one night i heard papa tell mama "you better let that boy boogey woogey, cause it's in'im and it's gotta come out"... and i felt sooo goood, i boogeyed just the same, oh lord...

  • This song rocks! he was hot.

  • he kinda looks like the joker in batman lol

  • i was about to say that

  • Actually He was the first alien spaceman to arrive on planet earth !!! From an advanced civilization. In the early 70s he frightened many lol...he was too far ahead of his time! But some of us understood him and loved it all.

    'YES HE WAS 'ALL'RIGHT' !!!

    THE BAND WAS ALTOGETHER!!

  • omg just wat i needed

    i love him

  • yes my bowels

  • yeah... bowies playing a 12 string acoustic but all you can hear is ronsons electric... so either bowie's guitar wasn't mic'd or plugged in or its an overdub.

  • I think "David Bowie & Mick Ronson" would have been an appropriate name for them, because Ronson's guitar-playing was a humongous contribution to Bowie's songs

  • R.I.P. Mick Ronson

  • Hard to believe that this was over 30 years ago already. Shit, where has the time gone. Yeah, Mick Ronson was an incredible guitarist. I was lucky enough to see him play (with Richard Thompson) in the late 80's at a small club in Santa Fe.

  • I love his hairdo. ^ ^

The sound's from the Santa Monica concert, I think..

  • The sound track is definately Santa Monica

  • I'd love to hear that concert--it's circulated as a boot?

  • This is cool...

    Godawful hairdo though...

  • Quite to the contrary - Bowie's hair is fandabulous! :D Just dashing.

  • I got goosebumps... this is the stuff of legend

  • i was lucky enough to see bowies last ever concert. heathen tour. very good.

  • The image is from a Ziggy era tour but the soundtrack is NOT from the Ziggy movie, but from a Ziggy era concert. By the time the Ziggy movie was shot (last Ziggy concert @ Hammersmith), he'd developed the song into a far rockier version.

  • ...it's bowie though lol

  • The images of the video and the sound are from different performances. I think the sound comes from the Ziggy Stardust Movie, and the images are from an earlier era.

  • I realy don't know if this is overdubbed....it sounds real good for a 1972 video, so maybe...

  • Is this overdubbed? (Meaning his performance is real but they use a studio-version of the song for the audio part? It seems off sometimes.)

  • yeah, seems so. Yet, the song is great. David Bowie is great!
