  • ok so i have been in martial arts almost my whole life and i just started takeing takewondo and i thought therre were only 2 styles ITF and WTF so whats this kukkiwon, what are the differences ??

  • any tips for keepin balance on a double side kick?

  • SUPERB!

  • did my 2nd Dan grading yesterday, examiner said i did koryo perfectly. proud moment.

  • This puts me all itchy...why does it seem the poomsae lack strength? There's no shoulder jerk, no hip jerk, no momentum...it all looks as mere limb strength...itchy...

  • this is my poomsae.. cant wait to learn it

  • well MalacoTKD once u kick to the knee and kick to the head makes u get a better score:) good luck

  • at 36 seconds he turns wrong, According to This Blacl belt book, endorsed by the WTF (world TaeKwonDo federation) you are supposed to turn left 270 degrees instead of turning right 270 and facing left. Into the horseback rding stance

  • @boriqua109rasengan The dude's a high ranking master in the Kukkikwon, which regulates the WTF. I'm gonna go with him on this one. Besides, it looks right to me. That's how I was taught, and my teacher is a 7th degree.

  • @boriqua109rasengan

Nope, youre wrong. And you're also saying the degrees incorrectly. Who EVER turns 270 degress?

  • good

  • my teacher says to do the inside block a bit later andthe elbow strike and side kick thingy

  • @MalacoTKD Its a low side kick to the knee then a side kick to the ribs because your breaking the knee then you hit the ribs where the side kick is most effective. At least thats what my Sabonim says and also Hwan Jan Lees video says as well

  • thats how it used to be. now its middle then headshot. and i have a competition in 3 weeks also. they've changed a lot of the set ups and strikes now.

  • Can someone help me please?? I have this poomsae competition soon and I'm going to do this pattern, but my trainer is saying that in the beginning I should make the first kick to the middle and then to the head (which is hard). In all these movies they do the first kick to the lower point and these are supposed to bie from Kukkiwon.

  • @MalacoTKD It's a kick to the knee or below. so It should be low kick

  • @MalacoTKD Low kick to leg or knee.

  • @MalacoTKD

    Why are you asking us?

    Is your trainer your teacher?

If he says do it that way....THEN DO IT!!

If you're doubting the person that is teaching you then you dont need to be with them.

  • @MalacoTKD

Your trainer is telling you this to add stylistic points, and this unfortunately is incorrect.

  • @MalacoTKD the first kick is to the knee or below, and the second is middle or high section, but in some videos, people kick very high, to the point that it becomes stupid and would not ever be used

  • @MalacoTKD it's a low kick to the knee first, then to the head, that's at least how I learned it.

  • Looks good but he does some move in a way that seems like he is doing it by an older standard. Look at this vid, the guy I think is doing up to date one.

  • horrible kick and lazy stance, -1

  • dude watch taekwondo robot it's awesome

  • This is a poor performance . Bad side kick ( Yeop Chagi ) . Lacks of power . Watch this

    watch?v=0Z_4r-wssy0

  • this was a very lazy form poor stances and lack of power

  • @doje1103 What are you talking about lack of power? I can here his uniform snaping through out the whole form. His stances look fine from what i can see and for a dude his age his form looks pretty good.

  • @iornultimadum

Do you hear the uniform or do you hear sound effects?

    Hmmm...?

  • @Kinghercules Its definatly the uniform this guy is like a 7th dan

  • @iornultimadum, I'm 1st dan, and I can assure you that all those «hits» you hear, aren't the uniform: those are simply sound effects. I tell you that for my experience. Believe me: I try to mark hard the movements and you hear the hits directly. The problem is in the microphone that captures the whole sound. Realize that the microphone doesn't have enough power to capture the whole sound. Those sound effects were added thanks to a video editor program (for example: Adobe Premiere). (...)

  • @iornultimadum. Briefly: movements marked with sound effects added. That's all.

  • @Kinghercules Dude its totaly the uniform. Its called putting power in in the form.

  • lol, the first time i saw the WTF flag on the wall of our gym i was like, wtf.....

  • thanks i need

  • Those are sidekicks...right?

  • @emulare11. Yes. These kicks are called YOP-CHAGUI. ;-)

  • aa damn im almost black belt :D

  • mmmmm clear u how you DON'T do it.... lack of force and intrest, altought the uniform sound............

  • @Lula1789 your joking right this is a wonderfully executed form it is performed by a member of the Kukkiwon

  • gay

  • @Eighty8percent retard

  • Hi, i like it.

  • claro ejemplo de como no se debe hacer....

  • WTF - What the fuck.

    WTF - World taekwondo federation.

I´m Black belt by the way soo yeah...

  • a beautiful form, however for some reason, I always seem to trail off into taegeuk 4 or 7 during it

  • Already

  • Just got black belt and love this form alread

  • the poomsae okay, I miss the following: the latest is yak sogui Dari (it is in Koryo)

  • Why does always people argue about ITF and WTF who's better or not?! They're both very good styles, both are TaeKwonDo, WTF in a real fight they have to stay away from their enemy, but ITF is better when close. But both are very good, so please stop argue about WTF and ITF! There's no point in doing that

  • I agree w/exodia94. I received my black belt when I was 8. I recently learned there were different types of tkd. I say tkd is tkd. 1 type isn't better than the other.

  • Sure haha, I love you ITF guys, your dojang must be jacked up because Koryo is very old, many of the movements found in caves, its part of traditional TKD which both ITF and WTF show, WTF to me puts more of an emphasis on it because it's trained for the blackbelts, to learn the ways of the old.

I am fourth Dan Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido, First Dan is blackbelt please get your facts straight.

  • @DABOYZinc I meant to say "Former WTFer now yellow belt". And I stick to my words, ITF is leagues better than WTF. I know we in ITF have the "no full contact" rule, but it's because unlike you belly diaper wearers, we actually are allowed to hit to the head.

  • I think we can strike to the face and head too...lol.

Gah, for diapers and foam helmets I don't understand how people still have their ribs broken, and the people that get concussions etc...so much for protection huh?

  • @DABOYZinc You can't punch to the head in WTF. And we do avoid getting our ribs broken in ITF, we simply have thicker foot guards.

  • No we can not, but God knows I would rather be punched in the face then kicked...

  • @DABOYZinc

Too bad that swords can pwn your ass.

  • ??

    When did swords come in?

But no, I was also trained in Kendo, so pulling out a sword won't help you much...

  • @EelSacul Ok first of all, are you sure you are part of ITF because you should know that a 1st dan is a black belt grade.

  • Yeah. I'm a part of ITF. 7th gup. I can honestly say that I learned more about TKD as a yellow belt with a green stripe than I did as a first dan in TKD. I'm still learning to this day.

  • @EelSacul

And things you are tought is different by what kind of master you have. I had to learn some weirld kicks when I was a blue belt.

  • .... wats ur point then? tkd is tkd, so wat if its wtf or itf doesnt symbolise anything or who is more superior, and why are u saying tat a black belt in the wtf is worth onli a green blet in ITF, does it mean tat u consider urself to be very "skill less"?

  • when this guy does koryo theres no feeling at all...

  • If it was on here perfect you would not need a club but just copy it from video

  • This is a traditional korean form, its like old style so everything is different

  • he doesnt rechamber his side kicks... whats up with that???

  • dude i learned this form like 2 months ago now im learning basai

  • Why would you try to hide what you know? If anything I would think that the more you show the less likely people would be to mess with you because they know what you're capable of. Besides, knowledge is something that should be shared.

  • Tis is my form and im 10

  • keumgang.. thats the one i always forget :) ive started keumgang now

  • i do tkd. im a red belt!! soo motivated i wanna learn this form already

  • ive been on koryo for two years now.. im doing chil jang next week :)

  • Isn't (Taeguek) Chil Jang two forms below Koryo?

  • xD i know it was mistake

  • I think it can tend to change from school to school. Mine starts off with pal gwe, then koryo once you get your 1st degree blackbelt, then tae guek 1-4 for "juniors" and 1-8 for "seniors".

  • IL,EE,SAM,SAR,O,YUK,CHIL,PAL, then koryo if ur system is like ours...also this guy does his stepping sidekick weird he steps in front wich doesnt allow you to "chamber" your kick without being predictable...idk maybe he knows somthin i don;t

  • You do know that Il, Ee, Sam, etc. are just number's right? So you're literally counting the Tae Guk forms. I just thought I'd mention that in case you didn't know, since what you said is like saying it's one, two, three, four, etc. then koryo. =P

  • Comment removed

  • u could still chamber but its a little different

cuz in my school u step in front

  • @TaeKwonDizzle of course he does, he's a high level master in the kukkiwon.

  • @TaeKwonDizzle Yeah, he does. But then again, he knows more than all of us. But just for clarification, this isn't a fighting move, it's a form. And part of the form is that you step in front to prepare for the sidekick. That's just how it's done.

  • yes

  • yeah

  • dont u have to go thru like palge samjang

  • dude samjang is like... green belt

    thats a longs way back

  • i said palge not taeguk

  • This is great im gonna need to learn koryo after i get my porvisional black belt . Still need alot of practice the middle part is what messes me up.

Greeting from Springfield ,IL; student of Grand Master Chung of the WTKDA

  • Great :) I am learning koryo right now, so it's great for checking any doubts. Thanks for sharing! Fav & 5/5!!

  • The snappsounds are there just to mark each tecniq,, its not from the uniforn,, he uses a thin uniform that does not make any sound,,,

but i love the Poomse.. im upp for 1. dan next winter:D

greetings from norway; student of GrandMaster Cho Won Sup

  • The thinner Adidas uniforms can make a good *snapping* sound; I own several and even without a starch, they will snap. I hope to be taking my 2nd Dan test in the Kukkiwon sometime within the next year or two. It's cool having these forms online to check our knowledge against!

  • but he is write they also do make a snapping sound at the end of moves

  • They do; in that we are agreed!

  • i do also have the adidas 3 stripes uniform and know what you say... but i also have a traditional uniform that is really really heavy that i own for 14 years know and is still perfect.. the sound of this material is like watching old martial arts movies with sound effects. especially during ap-chagies.. .

  • that is my exact form!!!! !!!!!!! i cant believe it!!!! its the black belt form!!!! i got my black belt two years ago and got my paper and lisence signed by him!!!!!!!!!! omg!!!!

  • The snapping sounds are from his uniform

  • Are those snapping sounds added... eh, edited or something, cuz they sounds really dodgy.

  • voy a rendir a primer dan

  • Where can I download these? Kukkiwon doesn't let me download

  • his long stance are too long... your front knee should only cover the toes.. therefore in conclusion the whole form is good except for the long stance 2 long =) great poomse-er

  • this footage is from the WTF TKD headquarters kukkiwon.

  • no pull back on the side kicks! apart from that very nice :D

  • hmm not that good.. quite old-fashioned style ^^

  • thats almost the same style of koryo i do except at the top when hes doing the tiger stances i do horse stances

  • Same

  • what are you talking about? he doesn't do any tiger stances

  • agreed, im on 2nd dan and no tiger stances are in "Koryo"

  • i just got my belt and just tested. Awsome form, awsome confidence, and continue to help the members of matial arts

  • i'm glad i found this i completely forgot how to do it

  • good

  • I really need some help on my Koryo form Are there any tips you can give on how to stay sharp when learning your form?

  • Nice i need to learn this ^_^

  • Why on Koryo Vs Koryo dose one get full score from 5 Judges and one not score and who get the score. Anyone from White Belt too any Black Belt can answer this or if it happens to them then they cannot complaineeven if you fail grading.

  • cool, yo ocupo aprenderme esta poomsae y ya encontre el video, gracias ^_^
