Amazing! When I first saw clips of Mr Cully's playing, my first response was "he's very like Buddy Rich...". I suppose, like all Buddy fans, we compare others to him. Mr Cully might have Buddy's technique, but athlonian11 put his finger on it: "close your eyes and it could almost be Buddy." In fact, although his technique is quite like Buddy's, if you DO close your eyes, his playing is NOTHING AT ALL like Buddy's. Mr Cully expresses himself in his own unique way. What a drummer!!!

Absolutely amazing, close your eyes and it could almost be Buddy. The Choo choo train single stroke roll at the end was incredible, so clean, even and controlled. Buddy would be very proud indeed. Ill have to check this guy out.

Dick Cully, what can I say, great, great , great playing! I would challenge anyone who could even come close, brings joy to my heart, the true art of drumming paying tribute to the man, Buddy Rich.

Excellent solo, even though what you did was excellent, and virtually the same as any typical Buddy rich solo, the audiance was slow to respond to what they were seeing and hearing--disbelief maybe?
